Just an editing note, it would've really elevated the visuals if you'd cut in some transitions with b roll footage of the killteams as you were talking about them and transition back to the wide shot as you close out the review of the killteam. It would do a ton for audience engagement in terms of the visuals. Otherwise fantastic videos guys, keep them coming
Was going to make a similar point, also, chapters named for the team under discussion... neither are a necessity but would improve the user end experience. Otherwise, great stuff.
@@kid0krewgaming326 I got the battle honor on my shade runner that allows her to dash more than once. Give her 3 APL and she can chuck a plasma Grenade just about anywhere in combo with light fingers ploy

Fun discussion. You guys are lucky to have each other for regular gaming. Enjoy it while it lasts. Don't get burned out on cranking out content. One bit of unsolicited feedback, I don't think it's necessary to stare at the camera for these. Part of the fun is the banter between you two. Probably would work better if you talked at each other. Keep up the good work.
I have to add my own unsolicited opinion and disagree! I actually really like the staring at camera news anchor style, it adds to the channel quirkiness, one of its most redeeming qualities. It's different than other channels too, I dig it! Especially considering in the battle reports we don't see you guys at all except for the inserts.
When I see Void Dancers on table, I just want to say "I give up! You win, good bye!" - not that I have no chance wining, but how awful it's to play against them. They have no regards for basic game rules. "Oh, I go through walls", "No you can not shoot me", "I rolled a 6 on one of my 5 dices, so you die", "I don't like results of our melee rolls - we don't fight, I go behind this wall", "you know, I now earn 2 CPs per round" To much of this x__x - it's like playing with 8yr old who just jumps with toy solders around and yells how he kills everything with his uber weapons.
I really enjoyed this video. I couldn't care less about win rates or competitive stuff; in the end its all about fun. Your perspective was really cool to hear. Now I want to go and buy more kill teams lol.
I love the farstalker kinband, one of my favorite kill teams to play, especially with how difficult it can get to play it with correct positioning and use of abilities, especially for someone new to the game like me! Though while I've played some teams already, I have to say I've got in my top favorite the hearthkyn salvagers, they don't feel particularly strong to play but I love focusing on security missions for lots of points with them, stole a victory by one point with them! I'm currently waiting to get my warpcoven models, I hope they'll be really cool, but I'd definitely get the starstriders next, especially since you placed them above the kroots I just have to play them! Also, I have to agree with the kommandos' placement, but I love playing against them for one single reason... My sister plays them and she does perfect roleplay as an ork commanding her troops, which is so absolutely funny even if she melts me every time 😂
When we did our ‘funnest killteams’ on the Once upon a killteam podcast Kommandos were by far the most voted. I appreciate they have some feel bads to play against. Great vid!
Hard disagree on the starstriders, only in so far as I've recently finished a set and I loved painting all the fiddly little details! That said, I think that speaks to your point about them being 5/5 for hobby, because they're a kit you can paint to exactly your own tastes and basically always have them look good. In a lot of ways I didn't really follow the box art either.
For the Voidsmen-at-Arms I wanted to give them red guns like old-school bolters. I misjudged the colour of the contrast paint and now they all have orange nerf guns. I also totally love that the Rogue Trader squad itself is just a group of 4 TTRPG characters; the standard party size.
Love fun videos like this. I have played one game with my Kasrkin so far so I can understand how the dice fixing could be a feels bad. But at the same time, that team feels very predictable specifically because it's just fixing attacks (vs the Novitiates for example) so it can be really easy to predict the minimum damage output they're going to get on you each time. Also every time a large amount of points is used to save a situation, they're really hurting themselves for later activations. It's so sad to hear that my Kommandos are a feel bad! I play mostly open with my friends, and we've had some crazy games. I just love the random quirkyness of the team, especially the bomb squig potential to completely destroy something (maybe myself, which is also hilarious). They usually win by a decent margin in our games. They're such a great team at playing the mission, but I don't abuse things like multiple forward deploy. I like having the extra Kommando Boy from the last buff they got, but honestly if they just take that back away I think people would be happy, and I wouldn't mind at all. It used to be a big decision to choose either 2 Boyz or Grot and Squig. Played my Corsairs against a friends Legionaires, open map. He was basically just picking up that team for the first time, and I was playing my new Corsairs that I had really studied up on. Poor map design funneled all his elites together, turn 1 first activation I killed his heavy gunner with my gunner, then free dashed to safety. Second activation I used the sorcerer to slow a melee elite in the front of his group. The game was basically over for him at this point. He was down a massive operative, I'd crippled his melee operative, and the rest of his team couldn't even get around the pile ups and poor map design (on my part). It was a major feel bad game for him. Basically it felt like I had an operative specifically built for every situation, and the speed to do almost anything I could think of. Very cool team, surprising to hear they're not a feel bad to play against, but I'll take it! I have to share a feel bad of mine that I haven't cracked yet. Playing a 2APL team into Warp Coven..... the movement debuff that my Corsair Sorcerer used to cripple that death guard melee operative, except that movement debuff is on my ENTIRE team..... it's a nightmare! Open map 2APL it feels almost impossible to play against, even with a fairly dense terrain layout.
Just bought Heirotek circle and I’m super excited to paint my first warhammer figures. Bought them because they are one of the easiest to paint but also cool lore and decent team to play as though much more interested in painting and lore right now. If it goes well I will consider buying a second kill team. I’m thinking Hearthkyn. Also considering which army to start collecting, maybe necrons, maybe a space marine chapter. The hard part is that it’s such a large commitment and I want to invest in more than one army but have to narrow it down to one.
Definitely feel Hierotek for a super fun team to play that just puts opponents on tilt. Non of my local group is happy when I pull out my self rezzing Androids and their Krak-Grenade beams.
I loved this video and your personalities, bringing real fun- I've played only Phobos so far but I LOVE their playability and their ability to reward you the deeper you go. They are also fragile so your opponent feels like they can win at anytime
Absolutely love your content guys. As a Kill Team fan and hobbyist, it's great to see folks playing the game for fun. I would love to play against you at some point, but being in the UK, seems like a pipe dream. Keep it up.
Blooded is my #1 fav to play. You kill something? You get a blooded token! Get killed? You get a blooded token! Also the best tac. In the game YOU CAN SHOOT YOUR OWN GUY 😂 Then there's some hilarious operatives a cannibal, grenadier that blows up upon death I love em.

Dont know how you would like this but it would be cool if you guys did a "salt" tournament where you pit the game's meanest teams against eachother either in an actual games or just how you did it in this video . I nominate pathfinder, wyrmblade, gellerpox pre-de-buff, inquisition, and novitiates.
What would you guys rate as the best teams for mental load? IE, simplest to play? Sounds like The Blooded might feature here. Anything else? How about a Tau all-Stealth Suit crew? ;-)
@@emilyanne1311 Thanks! I like the look of them too, so that could work. I was thinking that 6 Tau Stealth Suits are so same-y that they should be pretty easy, but then they're also reported to be pretty bad, and it's no fun after a while to just keep losing! Still - worth a try!
Can't say the Phobos take is very simpleminded make a guy unhelmented and dude can be any sort of vanguard marine you want all you need is a knife and bolt pistol and everyone has those things around. Or you can trade for the bits with someone collecting marines. My phobos team is space wolves and they fill whatever role I want since have no helments. Now about mahnetizing someteams are easier than others, like intercessors are easy but novitiates not quite so, the poses are vsstly different for it to work.
True, I have some assault intercessors from the 9th ed starter and they fill the reiver role quite fine. Bonus that I can use the phobos marines as regular intercessors for the intercession team this way

I fully agree with the Novitiates summary. Having played 3 or so games against a friend, myself with Chaos Legionaries, on an Open board and I can also say... Dice fixing sucks... Unlimited range pistols on every operative, sucks... The Condemnor's silenced weapon is a ball ache to fight against, especially when you can just fix for crits... Not a fun fight at all

I gotta say, with your recent foray into Shatterpoint, I'd love to see you guys give the new Marvel Crisis Protocol starter set a try. You make some of the best batreps out there and I think you'd really like MCP.
Started with HClade. Slow to pick up at first, but there is fun in the rules synergy. Example: Unit abilities + Aggressor Imperative + Accelerant Agents strategic ploy + Optimized Gait equipment turns your average Ruststalker into a murderbot that auto saves 2 dice in cover, hops over barricades and terrain with no penalty, has a 9 inch charge (effectively 11 inch if you jumped a barricade), and can fight TWICE. -Take the transonic blades (5 attacks with rending = multiple crits of 6 damage each per fight). Don’t bother parrying; just send the damage through. I’ve double-tapped space marines, and THAT *chefs kiss* feels SO good 😂 There’s fun to be had is all I’m saying; worth a look :)
Kommandos all the way. most flavorful; most fun >: ) and a joy to paint IMO; building always sucks for me; so that didnt factor in but I get what Brad was saying.

Great video as always - like the focus on fun rather than meta etc
I've learned to not underestimate the killiness of the Farstalker Kinband when played right, they're easily one of my favorite teams ever.
This is the absolute first time...I've ever seen a Kikkoman soy sauce shirt. You boys are true pioneers. The video was top tier as well.

Also thank you guys for sharing your games and growing the hobby ❤
Would be nice to hear your take on Compendium kill teams (even though they are not dedicated "competitive" Kill Team with unique dodads).
The only Compendium Kill Teams I think may still hold up would be Deathwatch and Talons of the Emperor.
i had to google most team to know what you are talking about :')
This a cool idea for a video. Hope to see more teams in that format!

I should pick up Novitiates. I am always the player that rolls a bunch of ones. One time I was hitting on threes with 5 attacks. And I rolled 4 ones.
I did like the video, but I would’ve preferred having lots of pictures of each of the factions since I am new to Killteam.
I’m with you on novitiates hobby. I painted them up and was just bored by the time I was done. Thought about stripping rhe paint but just left it. Great video guys!
Love this. I want to know your thoughts on Gellarpox!
Glad you shared the correct way to reveal on rock paper scissors, most important part of the video.
Please, more reports with Farstalker Kinband in open terrain 😍😍
I really Wana see ya guys play Hearthkyn. I know they are "bad" but they look fun to me.
poor Kasrkin they need love on this channel
Great video :) Since there is no chapters here are the time stamps:

Corsairs make it hard to play other teams, they have a little bit of everything and they’re so fun to play.

Felgor Ravagers, just KILL!!!

Long live corsairs. Speed is life
Thoughts on Hunter Clade? How would you guys rate them? I'm looking for 2 teams to pick up for a doubles tournament and paint and lore them up and loved your list, super helpful. Im curious about this team bc my brother likes the asthetic and it fits into a couple different lore options we have cooked up.
They can be a lot of fun! The biggest drawback for me is that they are a bit of an expensive team if you want to have lots of the available options.
And the auto-chastiser on the plasma, every goddam game so she essentially cannot miss 😶
They're definitely not impossible to beat but my god, it make for a tense and frustrating game, in this specific match-up.

Hunter clade is a team I haven't played but they seem kind of boring. They could use a boutique Killteam with real specialist.
I’ve double-tapped space marines, and THAT *chefs kiss* feels SO good 😂
There’s fun to be had is all I’m saying; worth a look :)
@@skavid4811 also seems fairly frustrating to play if you encounter something like that and have no idea they can do that
N1 Video. Thanks.
Veteran guardsman - where?
Kommandos all the way. most flavorful; most fun >: ) and a joy to paint IMO; building always sucks for me; so that didnt factor in but I get what Brad was saying.
I had a lot of fun building them and searching for all the bits and pieces, thought that was highly thematic, someone had fun designing these sprues😂
Even though I don't exist, I have to pop into existence say for me Kinbad was not fun to play against Death Guard. Ok byebye **poof**
I enjoy the longer videos
definitely need visuals for who your talking about
Chaos Cult, Vet Guard, Legionaries 😢

Am I missing something or did you guys skip grey knights and traitor marines?
I agree with absolutely everything other than the parts I fully disagree with. All in all 10/10 would not disagree except to disagree again!
