What I am excited for 1. Clearer rules, especially when it comes to obscured and LoS 2. They are bringing over the old bespoke teams, one of the biggest fails of switching from kill team 1 to kill team 2 was that old teams were invalidated. 3. Co-op and solo play, I am really hoping that this will make it easier to play through a narrative campaign because I love the narrative rules for kill team 4. Converting back to inches 5. Digital rules that update with updates. Keeping up to date on all the new rules for kill team was a chore in and of itself. What I am not excited for 1. Just picking 4 pieces of equipment, whenever they do this it only works if they make all equipment equally valuable, which puts an arbitrary limit on their own design space. Either they are able to achieve this and there will be a lot of sameness with the equipment or they don't achieve it and there will be a set of equipment that is the "right equipment" 2. Getting rid of the compendium means getting rid of some teams for which there are no bespoke equivalent (ie. tyranids and grey knights)
The compendium was also a great way to just hop into kill team with miniatures people already owned, and to play a simpler game without a ton of synergies and abilities to remember on both sides. My favorite way to play kill team with people who are new or considering the game has been compendium vs. compendium.
I wonder if they won't make some equipment come in packs. Like, the Breachers have three options that cost 1ep specifically so you can give several (or even all) of your operatives one if you need to, and none of them are worth taking any of at 2.5 points. But what if, in the new edition, you got two or three Stims/Slugs/Rebreathers for one of your equipment choices?
@@celticbear714 Same. Shapes worked. You never needed to think about inches or millimeters, and they stood out on a datacard, so you could see them clearly in the sea of word soup that is GW's rules writing.
Fingers firmly crossed! I also think maybe they're hasn't been one because there's a 40k plague marine update already planned, otherwise we likely would have got a white dwarf team at least.
I really liked having compendium in the game - a way basically anyone could take miniatures they already had and slap together a simple team that didn't require understanding a lot of rules and synergies to play. I also loved the feeling of 3 chaos marines leading a ton of cultists on a mission.
I'm excited and overall pretty positive. The rules being cleaned up is great and I think an overhaul to equipment and objectives is warranted. The app sounds good on paper, but I worry they'll put it behind a Warhammer+ paywall.
Maybe Papa Nurgle will bless us with a bespoke team. Copium tells me DG being one of the most popular/competitively viable compendium teams means GW will have taken notice of them.
@@refined_hazard it pisses me off because my Poxwalkers are the best minis I've ever painted and I did a ton of conversion work on my Plague Marines. One can hope, but with GW's track record of caring about the players, I'm not expecting much
Cant wait for the new edition of kill team. Got into 40k with the hopes of playing large 40k but fell into kill team and never looked back. This is a great breath of fresh air to the game.
Love you guys, love the enthusiasm for the game, love the way you interact, love the music! Always a good day when there's a new MST video. Looking forward to the new edition :)
I'm not a very competetive person, so coop/solo mode giving me a way to roll dice and play with my toys without having to worry about winning or losing sounds awesome.
I agree the new models look great, especially the vespids, I am glad they are going away from the shapes nonsense and simplifying some of the rules. One thing you didn’t mention that I am excited about is the potential for solo play and cooperative play with an elite kill team or two half teams against a bunch of lesser non elite enemies as a sort of swarm.
I'm excited that they are keeping the game fresh, as a person who did eBay rescues to make KT's about 95% of my teams are compendium. In the bigger picture we have to remember that GW's business model is selling models and hyping up the base. I will be looking out for the rules release but I'm not rushing to this one in the hopes one or maybe two of my comp teams gets a box in the new addition... LOL ... Thx for the video guys!
I already have a co-op campagian idea for my friend who is new to warhammer. Mandrakes and nightlords who were trying to beat each other to an artifact being forced to team up against a recently awoken tombworld, escaping on a ship that is infested with nids, having to fight them off long enough to escape to the nearest safe planet only to come face to face with marines and krieg, all culminating in both players having a propper game of KT to claim the artifact. Safe to say im verry excited.
Im looking forward to may Salvagers having movement 5" and a rule that says they only get +1" when the charge. Having movement 2 circle, 1 triangle but the triangle doesnt count for charging was such a confusing way of doing things. Also glad to see redundant stats have gone like DF.
Can't wait the 12h needed by the community to create a fan-made Bespoke Tyranids, Talons, Grey Knights and Custodes See you all on October 6th to play them !
I'm very, very, very into the points for kills aspect, it might even be my favorite one. I first ever played Warhammer as Epic 40k, and that was how I played every single time, I couldn't have cared less about taking the objectives, I would instead deny you the objectives and work to eliminate your entire army. I would even field units that could drop anywhere on the map just to be able to stop a person i know was an objective grabber from doing that. I am also really looking forward to the new units for existing teams, I wish that they would offer smaller packs that only include updated units that add, say, flying ones to existing teams instead of only new boxes, but this is GW, so we know it will be only full boxes. As for the compendium teams, personally, I don't see a reason why you can't still play them in any setting. It isn't like it takes a math wizz to change a shape to a number, and that really is it. If a person wants to play them, feel free. but don't cry about it when the vespid poop bombs on you when they fly over your stuck on the ground head.
im excited for this edition to release. I think its a SOLID 10/10 on changes. Cant wait. I started Feb this year and have 4x KT's. Nightmare box NC/Mandrakes and the starter box w/ Vet Guards/Kommandos.
I’m new to kill team and warhammer in general, picked up the starter set recently and obviously been really into it. Watching your content really adds to it all for me too. I’m so happy that with the new edition coming out soon I’ll be on the same page as everybody else rules and gameplay wise. Most looking forward to co op games with my son and also the terrain and other equipment. Can’t wait to paint the terrain and equipment because as of yet I only have the bits from the starter set plus other bits we have crafted and this new terrain will make our kill zone look so sick! Honestly so hyped for the new edition and I’m so glad I found kill team
I'm most excited about Solo and Co-Op :) Even though the compendium teams are gone in the new edition, they still can be used in PvE of Solo and Co-OP !
I'm looking forward to the new rules and the expanded barricades/equipment models and terrain. Vespids look cool but I'm not into them enough to want to buy the big box, and I really am not enamored with the scions. So if they sell the terrain separate that'll be my purchase. Just waiting to see what the new rules for my heirotek and Gellarpox look like and if they will finally give me a bespoke tyranid or grey knight team since they are removing the compendium support.
Nice job on getting on Warcom, gents. Hopefully now GW will start sending you some freebies. I play AOS and some other skirmish games (Moonstone - reckon you'd like it), but love your vids and have been watching for a while. Always a pleasure and really appreciate the attention to the graphics as well as your company.
I was a little sad to see that teams are going to be just as lethal in this new edition, especially with the VP for killing, but I'm coming back around. I really prefer elites and with the word on the street being that Loot is gone, Elites mulching smaller teams and not being punished on VP is quite exciting.
My first team was an ecclesiarchy team... And now theyre gone. Definitely would like to see another sisters of battle variant down the road that doesnt feel as unfun for my opponent as novitiates lol
First, I totally agree - I want a proper Sororitas team! I love my 10-gal squad and regularly play them. But, there's an easy fix: Slim down to 6 gals, and run them as Intercession, Legionary, or Nemesis Claw. Legionary in particular has a BUNCH of easy parallels - Aspiring Champion is the Sister Superior, Gunner is a Gunner (Flamer or Melta), Heavy Gunner is a Heavy Gunner (Heavy Bolter), Icon Bearer is an Icon Bearer. All that's left is 2 normal troopers as sisters with bolters, or you can get fun with it and maybe do a Dialogus or that sweet Retributor Superior with her book as a Balefire Acolyte, or maybe a Sacresant as one of the melee-focused operatives... if you do Nemesis Claw, the Skinthief would be perfect here since they have the reduced damage ability which is perfect for a Sacresant shield.
I think it makes sense to retire the compendium teams with rules that are over 3 years old. At the time it was a good introduction to learning the game. But there are so many interesting bespoke teams that there is something to pick for everyone. There are already so many teams that it is better to focus on them and balance those teams for the new edition. And the factions that haven't gotten a team yet have a good chance that there will be something new and interesting in the 3rd edition.
Updated regularly is literally the only thing a GW app could offer. Its going to be functionally null just like 40k and the new AoS. But Im with you, even having rules, FAQs, errata's updated in your palm is gonna be nice.

The shapes were a very weird decision in KT21. They were completely arbitrary & nonsensical. A circle has one side. A triangle has 3 sides. A square has 4 but is represented by the exponent ^2. I'll definitely take a look at the new Kill Team. If only as an excuse to buy those sick looking Tempestus models and/or paint my Striking Scorpions. But what I'd *really* like to see on this channel is more Warcry. It feels like forever since we last got a video on it.

I'll definitely take a look at the new Kill Team. If only as an excuse to buy those sick looking Tempestus models and/or paint my Striking Scorpions.
But what I'd *really* like to see on this channel is more Warcry. It feels like forever since we last got a video on it.
If you think the team rules are going to be free you havent played games workshop games enough
Brad out here throwing gang signs with his backwards cap, hide ur wallets peps! D:
Love you guys and I am glad to see you guys are just as hyped for the new KT as I am :) NOW get back to work making me another battle report! ;)
I’m negative about the compendium teams going away. It was a great way to onboard my friends that play 40k.
Yes, im also disappointed. Now kill team is without Tyranids, chaos deamons and custodes. I love my compendium kill teams.
@@gunnardrewes4143 my hope is that we see bespoke teams for every faction… eventually.
Second!!!
GW please make it more like Warcry and I'll play the heck out of it
Why make KT like Warcry when we already have Warcry?
No. Go play Warcry.
