What an awesome track. This is what the GR Corolla was made for. Great driving and well done Toyota for giving us this amazing car. I have to find a way to get one, that is for sure.
@@J3wFro69I love the hatchback look. Its dorky but its cool. Id love one of these to get the kids to school in and have some fun on the wrekends as well.
Nice to see the GR in its element. But I don't think any of the GR corollas are different when it comes to cooling the rear diff which is claimed in the video, seems inaccurate.
Looks like some seriously great fun chucking it around! Even at “lower” speeds the amount of slide and playful motion the car has is incredible. Even in the dying days of the ICE sports car, there’s some real gems out there.
What a fantastic channel, I'm Brazilian, and I'm researching cars in Canada, you bring great information, this is extremely important, even for a purchase decision.
What "extra cooling" would there be in a Circuit Edition? I believe it has less cooling because there was an air channel (front bumper?) that is closed on the CE but open on the Core and Morizo.
I bet this car is an absolute riot in snow, ice and really low traction surfaces. I wonder if the aftermarket has more suspension mods to tighten up the front and loosen up the rear to get it sliding around on tarmac/concrete...
I would get the GRC if I had young children, bc the red carpet in the CTR will be destroyed! Or....you can get those weird black covers but it sort of just kills it for me, that's my opinion. I also have had my GRC for about 5 months now and I love it! But I have also never driven the new CTR, I also am not crazy about its looks either, enjoyed the last gen CTR more so, but I know most don't feel the same.
oddly enough you had it in expert mode to begin with lol I wanted a Circuit edition but couldn't justify the 5-15k over sticker....so I got a premium @MSRP which I'm super happy with, mechanically I believe they're the same, I'll do the hood and spoiler later and I'll change the wheels anyway so I'm not worried about the Enkei vs BBS with the BBS's being about 4ish lbs lighter per wheel
Prepping my FWD 2020 corolla hatch for SCCA rallycross now, with some suspension tuning including sway bars and chassis braces they really come alive in the corners. But full bolt-ons and tunes are only getting around 190 whp. And idk about the GR but the ABS/traction control systems need to be disabled to enjoy the SE.
That video was literally from a company trying to sell products for the issues the company was raising. In real life, most won't overheat anything here
@@TheTopher it hurts the soul because I want an all Toyota built track car. Maybe the future MR2 or something will deliver. Until then I’ll keep modding my GR86 and hope I don’t starve the engine lol
I agree, I have a GRC and I was like yikes watching this, bc I am paying $738 a month for it for the next several years. I have plenty of fun in it, and it handles insanely! But yeah this was a bit excessive, just bc I have one. If I didn't I'm sure I wouldn't care I suppose lol@@absolute.freedom
Oh I would LOVE to see that, also in the snow. Since 99% of all this UA-camrs like to do only dry payment tracks. And the CTR crow love to bring and throw those number out. Oh the CTR It’s a swift army knife. The one for the spring and summer on a dry weather day. How bout when it rains, snow, on dirt or gravel? The GR is going to be roaming the streets in the winter, while most CTR Will be hibernating in the garage😂
@@JG-mg3ifall season or winter tires would fix that listen the ctr/its is just a much better car. Corolla people will swap that tiny ass 3 cylinder out for a k series but Honda people won’t put the 3 cylinder in the civic
That's funny, friend of mine lives 5 minutes away from that track and the Corolla GR is the only new sports car he's interested in, he missed this! lol
For my perspective, 2 door coupe or hatchbacks like the early 2000's Civics looked more truly sporty than 4 doors. The following vid shows a concept 2 door future Corolla: 2024 Corolla 2 door redesign ua-cam.com/video/LrHe_EdYyrg/v-deo.html
You need to get the Circuit otherwise you get open diffs 🙄 still not as good as a GD chassis Subaru but Subaru decided not to make good cars anymore so here we are with a 3cyl being the only modern choice. Too bad about the price when you try to buy one

These things are so nice looking
Really? I just... Don't like it at all lol

The rear fender can be the slightest bit more smoothed out at the edges connecting to the car, but otherwise
It’s okay for me.

Awesome! I’ve had mine for 9 months and it’s a blast
1 year today with it 🎉
A Yaris gr or corolla gr are my dream cars, I wish one day I'll be able to get one
Dude the amount of high quality and entertaining content you are putting out is amazing. Keep it up!
I kind of wish Toyota brought the GR Yaris to the states
I completely agree 💯
Wow this car really came alive here. Incredible. The rally DNA just pops

I would love to see The Topher review the all new 2024 Chevrolet Trax. Thanks!

What a snotty little brat of a car. I love it!

You needed to go to sport and turn the Nannie’s off. Decent driving. I have 500 miles on my 24 core PP.
MSRP at bay city MI Toyota too.
Such a great car from Toyota,
This car is built to do this kind of stuff. That’s why I never could understand why people would garage queen this car.
Dear Topher,
You……are something.
Love,

Hahah, not a press car (for once)!
hello,is it reliability enough?thanks
I’d buy one, but not for over MSRP, and wouldn’t buy a used one just because some people will thrash it like this and trade it in
But you'd do the same
Guess you won't be buying one then.
Me: "The heck? 1.6L 3 cylinder turbo on 300 hp? All wheel drive? And they call this a Rally ca-"
**car starts up**
Me: "... ... ... oh... ... ..."
The car has to be put into "Expert Mode" for everything to be turned off, you would still have to pull a fuse if you wanted ABS off as well.
CTR or GRC for my only car where I want to do an track day here or there and haul my 2 year old to daycare? Leaning towards CTR...

after the SavageGeese video on this, I can't say I'd own one over my GR86. Too many cooling issues on that diff to sort out in the aftermarket for me!
