To compare a Toyota Supra to a Corolla is insane. There shouldn't even be an argument. I say this with the most positive intentions. We really live in weird times.
@VinceChristmastree I believe u. There fun if they are stupid light like 2500lbs . Bur I drove a friend's modified 4cyl Supra probably 380hp & it weights 3100lbs 350 lighter than the 6cy Supra & it still felt like a dinosaur 🦕 & quiet sounding. But sir just my opinion. I know it's a fun car in alot of demand. I'm just not the target market for this car. But not knocking it.
Now that you mention that, I should probably do a video on a 4 cylinder Supra (stock and modified). But yeah, fair enough! It's definitely a car that has a pretty set demographic.
To me if I own a business like yours, I wouldn’t have sold the Supra. In your kind of business you need more of a display/ modified cars to attack and pull more customers! C GR is cool I’m not saying it’s not but my only point was for business standpoint and I’m sure you can agree to that. Different cars pulls different market!
Yeah definitely true. Different segment for the two cars. I do agree with you though, if I was trading in an STI or Evo, this would be an upgrade. Tuning capabilities aren't there yet, but stock for stock, the GRC is much better. My opinion though!
I bought a 21 Supra but got bored of it within six months. It was quick but nothing about it felt Japanese except the design. I couldn't wait for the release of the GR Corolla as I'd rather much have that over the Supra.

Just saying there is more evidence that they run well vs don't. The only way to know is to look up some stats on STOCK GR Yaris mileage and their maintenance records. It's a Toyota at the end of the day, they don't fumble as hard as Chrysler or Ford.
@@SethKnows One of the ones I watched provided documents showing their oil changes were done at a Toyota dealer every 3k miles. They repair is covered by warranty, given they are covering it I would assume it was stock. It's a sports car, it's meant to be driven hard. That's what the engine should be built for. It's only a few examples, but it does emphasize my point that a 1.6 Liter engine outputting 300 horsepower will have high stress.
It’s an awesome car! Decent amount of people made the move and been happy with it. As long as you are happy with where your money is going, that’s what matters.
Yeah Devin and I were talking about that too. All of the people that would drive and appreciate it cannot afford it because of Toyota limiting production like crazy and not doing much with the stupid dealers marking everything up. Such a shame.

Ugh, love AMGs. Been looking at an W213 E63S. They're so freaking fast. Fun compact, you can't go wrong with the GRC. I had a Type R before this and it is an amazing car and daily driver, but if you want more fun, but a tad less practicality, GRC is the way to go. If you want to sacrifice a little fun (but still fun nonetheless) for more practicality and a superior shifter, the Type R (FK8 or FL5).

Nah not even close. Glaring issues with them gr rollas. Diff overheating, interior weak. And the price isn't far off from each other here in Canada. Hard pass.

That would look sick. Sucks they're not the same bolt pattern though (5x114.3 on the GRC and 5x112 on the Supra).
Excellent content!
Thanks so much Nikolai! Love your content too!
Really like the steering wheel. Where can I get the Forged CF wheel?
Devin got them from what was formerly known as GR Store: www.marvelmotorsports.com
Those seats look good!!!
They are awesome!
Where did you acquire the steering wheel? Also, does it still retain the heated function?
Devin got it from @gr_store_llc on IG. As for the heated function, it does still retain it!
What did you do / are doing to protect the CB roof? I just got my Circuit edition and I am not sure If I need to PFF or if a ceramic coating is fine?
He did both, PPF then ceramic coated on top.
Interior was holding me to get one but your interior has got me convinced. If you don't mind me how much was the upholstery and the steering redone?
DM him on IG @2j_who! It's from Alea Leather. It's nice and plush when I sat in it.
Thanks! The leather kit was a prototype so it was discounted. They have authorized upholstery shops you can reach out to for a quote. The airbag was custom and included the core so it was about 400. Steering wheels range from 700-1000 depending on options.
@@devinthedude87 how did you get the GR logo on the headrest? Did they make it themselves or did you take off the original one?
@@andrewkrikorian760 they custom embroidered it. It costs a little extra but worth it.
@devinthedude87 it looks 100% identical to the real one haha. I went on the website and couldn't see the GRC listed. Does that mean it's not out yet? Also what material did you use? Sorry for all the questions :/
Check out Kelford for all top end upgrades, great results in Australia with our 400 plus HP Yaris GRs
I’ll pass this on!
Those seat covers are amazing! I also have the circuit edition I love those red leather seat covers. Question tho I noticed your badges were darkened out a little bit, can I remove those badges and place a hard overly on mine or is there a camera? Did you wrap the front a rear badge or did you remove yours. I have some great red replacement badges I am scared to put on? Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the comment! From my understanding the front emblem houses the radar, so an overlay is as aggressive as you can get. Smoked vinyl is all I used. I haven't tried removing the rear emblem yet but its on my list!
See Devin’s comment above!
Expensive to get 420 wheel, given whats out there in UK for the Yaris,2 years in.Syvecs ecu £5k,built motor £10/11k,for starters, been told oem ecu is being worked on so a hybrid turbo and oem ecu tune +bolt ons will be a thing.
Isn't that where the stock block maxes out?
@VinceChristmastree tbf,455 crank/410 wheel is being offered here with stock engine,syvecs,cams/springs.Ive got everything else on the car so may go for that myself.
To compare a Toyota Supra to a Corolla is insane. There shouldn't even be an argument. I say this with the most positive intentions. We really live in weird times.
I mean the video is focused on Devin's move from a Supra to a Corolla so of course he will compare the driving experience lol
Next time please show the car more, overall it is beautiful.
More videos coming on this car so you'll get your fix of it!
Where did you get the steering wheel????
GR Store! They're on IG: @gr_store_llc
Dam vince you starting to look buff
Trying to get off my butt more LOL
Hell yea 265/35 tires 😎 all about that meat 🥩
You already know
You in the SA area? Would be cool to see how it does at SASCA.
Nope, we are in the DFW area.
Traded my Supra for a widebody scat and ohhh boy I regret it 🥲🥲
Noooooo! The V8 is sweet, but personally if I were to do a sedan, I would get the Supra sedan, M340i or a C63/E63.
Was the video filmed in hdr?
Nope, in 10-bit 4K S-Log3. I color corrected it on my own.
How am I able to get these seat covers. The website is very unintuitive I want to protect my 2024 gr
Try reaching out to them on IG @alealeather
@@VinceChristmastree okay, thanks!
Does this void the factory warranty?
ECU tuning potentially
After driving & owning a Supra. There is just know way I could ever drive a 4 cylinder ever again. But that's just me.
It's a 3-cylinder, but if you get a chance, I definitely recommend it. It's a different type of fun.
@VinceChristmastree Agreed 👍. Yes a comparison with the 4cy I would love to see it. 👀
make sure you equip your GR rollla with few extinguishers, unless you're gng to be driving less than 85MPH 😆😆
It'll be needed when he hits 88mph lol
is that person in the shot making tik toks with you? random that they chose that place out of the whole lot lmao
LOL that's his daughter. I didn't even realize it until I was editing this video!
Good point! He actually has other cars, Bronco, Raptor and a 240Z lol Devin has a variety of cars that he owns/owned!
Oh he'll no. not gonna trade my supra with this corolla
Not the first one that's said that to him and not the last lol glad to talk to someone in depth who made the move though!
@VinceChristmastree 😃 if I came from subaru, evo world I would thought of trading them, but its a fun car for sure
Yeah definitely true. Different segment for the two cars. I do agree with you though, if I was trading in an STI or Evo, this would be an upgrade. Tuning capabilities aren't there yet, but stock for stock, the GRC is much better. My opinion though!
Does anyone know what rims those are called ????
Volk Racing TE37s
@@VinceChristmastree thank you bro
@@publicmaster7383 You're welcome!
I bought a 21 Supra but got bored of it within six months. It was quick but nothing about it felt Japanese except the design. I couldn't wait for the release of the GR Corolla as I'd rather much have that over the Supra.
What did you end up getting?
@@VinceChristmastree I ended up with a used C7 Z06 later on
@@mrjjthor That's an awesome car. I was in the market for one and test drove an auto and manual and really liked it. Only thing that swayed me the Supra route was the interior. Was never a fan of the GM interior, though they have gotten better. Also not sure about the community, but it seems like a majority of the owners are older retired gentleman, which is definitely not my target demographic since I planned on making content with it lol
@@VinceChristmastree true, vette interior are not great compared to it's competition and the car is definitely a magnet for old retired white men. Lol. Not a great pick for content creating.
@@mrjjthor If I had the disposable income though to have another expensive car, I probably would have one. I enjoyed driving it so much and the V8 supercharger whine is something else!
Its 100% toyota ❤❤❤
For sure!
very smart choice! even if the corolla and zupra is the same price I will always choose the GRC
You're definitely the minority, but I'm just glad that Toyota is giving the consumers multiple choices!
@@VinceChristmastree it's very simple because it's "Bespoke" Toyota it's like would you choose a 10/10 girl but just like any other 10/10 girl or a 7/10 but she's one of a kind LOL
Lmfaooo 10/10 comparison 😂
I was interested in this car. But I really don't trust a 3 banger turbo to be long term reliable. Even from Toyota.
We shall see. Apparently there have been some owners with 30k+ miles on their cars and it's been good, but that's just a couple of examples.
Platform has been in Japan for a long time, plenty already have 40-50k miles with no issues
@@SethKnows That's good to hear, but 50k miles is something even a Jeep or Chrysler can do. There's also been a couple videos coming out of GR Corollas with blown turbos.
@@nathanmjackson1210 But right now you have a couple videos like that where you don't know how long or hard the car was driven, what maintenance was like, how much power they're running.
Just got rid of my mk5.. this might be the next step
It’s an awesome car! Decent amount of people made the move and been happy with it. As long as you are happy with where your money is going, that’s what matters.
So when are these enthusiasts cars that are supposed to be affordable gunna be affordable 😂 cause i need one
Yeah Devin and I were talking about that too. All of the people that would drive and appreciate it cannot afford it because of Toyota limiting production like crazy and not doing much with the stupid dealers marking everything up. Such a shame.
HAHA Right?!? Toyota promised this was gonna be an affordable fun car and its far from that. They even raised the price in Canada to 50k START!! 60k with options that complete the car, and taxes. For an AWD corolla...What a joke.
@@PurpleMonkeyWaffle racing has become this weird niche thats also super popular. You think with so many people being into it and making products that it would be easier to be apart of the culture
@@popdatclutch3010 All about that dollar dollar bill yall.
Why would you feel bad putting miles on a Morizo? Storing and making them an only weekend fun car makes no sense. Maybe it's me but would never save a car for the next owner even if it can resell for more money. I'm a car enthusiast I have to drive a car for my pleasure
Well said. This one isn't a Morizo, just a Circuit, but regardless, I do agree. Drive the cars!
@@VinceChristmastree I'm an AMG guy but something about this GR Corolla making me interested in it over the Type R, Supra, and RS3. I'm in the market for a fun compact and the Corolla checks all the boxes. Toyota did it right with this one. Love what you did with yours too
Ugh, love AMGs. Been looking at an W213 E63S. They're so freaking fast. Fun compact, you can't go wrong with the GRC. I had a Type R before this and it is an amazing car and daily driver, but if you want more fun, but a tad less practicality, GRC is the way to go. If you want to sacrifice a little fun (but still fun nonetheless) for more practicality and a superior shifter, the Type R (FK8 or FL5).
heheh "under wot".. "ecutek" thats so american to sound out acronyms in real speech. Perhaps the engineers at Gazoo were more focused on keeping out heavy rain and splash by creating the box the way that they did? that's usually why OEM snorkels start low and guide upward rather than come straight on.
LOL Devin is built different. That's what I'm thinking so you might be on to something.
Nah not even close. Glaring issues with them gr rollas. Diff overheating, interior weak. And the price isn't far off from each other here in Canada. Hard pass.
It's a hard sell in Canada from what I've read and seen on UA-cam. Such a shame, they're fun cars.
Same sadly. VERY sadly. I'm in Canada too and 60k after options and taxes for an AWD corolla with a shit ton of deal breaking problems and needs like 10k more to make it what it shoulda been, is deeply disappointing.
@@VinceChristmastreeYeah we are pissed. We have been sooo good to Toyota too cause we have the best quality control right along with the Japanese themselves. We made every single first gen Matrix and its widely known as the most reliable car out there. Now they let that plant make their Lexus cars!! And we get the shaft. FAR less stock than others and its a 60k car...😞
Driving manual is priceless. Not a manual is better than automatic post, but if you know you know post
Oh for sure. Don't care much for the whole "auto vs manual" conversation, but a manual is always going to be more engaging and enjoyable.
"Feel guilty putting miles on it"...🤔🙄
😆
Uh, sweaty seats 😬
Oh man, yeah good point. I would need a towel in the summer if I had this car, I would sweat all over it and ruin the nice red color lol
Hence, why I prefer cloth seats 😉(which is standard by the way)@@VinceChristmastree
No.
Counterpoint, yes.
I don't like that rear fender arch&rear-end is just to HIDEOUS 🤮🤮big mistake you downgrade over a supra😂😂..
Different strokes for different folks! I personally love them, but they're definitely not for everyone!
Rather have the gr Corolla than the bmw Supra..
