Changed plugs, wires, and ignition coil. 2005 Town and county van. Goes into limp mode after it gets hot about 10 minutes. When you unplug the battery it resets and works about 10 minutes. Then it starts shuddering or missing. Transmission was low. Filled it. Wondering if it's Transmission or mass air flow sensor, or any number of things.
@CHEAPROLLIN 2005 town and county keeps going into limp mode. First code p0204 cylinder 4 open circuit came up. Replaced the injector #4. Vehicle ran good for 10 minutes. Then code p0206 injector circuit cylinder 6 now comes up. It drives up to 40 ok. Then misfires again and goes slowly like limp mode. I think I smell burning transmission fluid. A guy helping me put too much in. About 8 ounces too high.
i have a 2009 chrysler town and country with the 3.8 V-6 and the good ole 62TE transmission. it went into limp mode a month ago. i changed the fluid from the pan and the filter. also my vehicle has over 200.000 miles. when in limp mode it is stuck in lower gear but when i pull over and park and turn off the ignition and then restart it, it will shift just fine for a few miles and then goes back into limp mode. it pulled a PO76A CODE. shift solenoid H malfunction. in your opinion will replacing the solenoid pack take care of this issue ?
Yeah it's a good chance that it would. You could also try some trans tune. And try using the slap shifter also make sure that you're completely full on coolant and that your fans are working properly because just a slight overheating of the transmission can cause limp mode. But I would say 80% of these that go into limp mode is not a transmission
im not having any cooling issues and the cooling fan is coming on. is there anyway to bypass limp mode ?@@CHEAPROLLIN when my transmission does shift to the higher gears it shifts just fine. but because that H SOLENOID in the solenoid pack apparently is bad it continues to go into limp mode. im real afraid to take it to a transmission shop. i dont want my eyes taken. if you know what i mean. i do not trust shops.
@@sly2392 yeah there's still some good shops out there but the problem is it's cheaper to just throw a new unit in those for the dealerships. Have you tested the alternator also change the spark plug wires look on the wires and see if you're having any parking
See if you're having any arcing if you can still drive it just keep driving it and trying to figure out what it is it took me about 2 years to fix mine I believe it was either low on coolant or it was a spark but you can put it in slap shifter and it would come out of limp mode sometimes and it would prevent it from going into limp mode as you can look on the forums while
I've got a 2008 dodge grand caravan sxt 4.0 .. i keep getting code p1745 transmission pressure too high for too long .. we replaced the solenoid and everything everyone recommended but its still in limp mode .. it stays in 1st gear ... Any idea???
I bought a topdon 500 scanner to clear the vlp counter but it just keeps saying tcm failed .. can't get it to detect the tcm .. says it doesn't exists..
@@kimberlystout-c8p okay I would search the code and the forums and see if anyone has had this issue. You could Google 08 caravan p1745 forums that might put you in the right direction
FLUID AND FILTER EVEN IF YOU HAVE A MILLION MILES

Sounds like to me the fluid and filter would be the first place to start sorry I'm so late in responding keep me posted

Replace motor on passenger side door.Replace the motor on the driver door
Thank you brother I got it out for now but will keep this in mind I have had issues with the main window control on the passenge and driver side
The solenoid pack can be swapped out without removing the manifold crossover...
