Nexus 6 Moto has a 5.96 inch display, while the Huawei Nexus 6P has a 5.7inch display. They're not the same size. This years display is actually smaller.
Joshua is usually spot on (99%) but some major mistakes here, very surprising for him...1) Nexus 6 is 5.96 inch screen, not 5.7 and Nexus 6 is also AMOLED like the new N6p. And this is within first minute of video, I haven't even finished yet.
agreed. what would seem to be too large of a screen made comfortable. I love my nexus 6. just bought it brand new off eBay for $239. fair deal, but the phone, other than the mediocre camera, was pretty ahead of its time. and it's getting nougat whoop!
The Nexus 6 2014 has a bigger display, but is shorter in size? how'd they mange to make it longer/taller? is it because they wanted to make it so skinny/slim?
+James Kim the nexus 6 & 6p are both 159.3 mm tall due to the front speakers but the width of the 6p (77.8 mm) is smaller compared to the 6 (83 mm). Also the 6p is thinner coming in at 7.3 mm compared to the 6's 10.1 mm. So this makes the 6p feel considerably smaller compared to the 6.
+Dante Bradley Nexus 6: 159.3 x 83 x 10.1 mm, Nexus 6P: 159.3 x 77.8 x 7.3 mm. It seems "shorter" due to it being wider. Overall, 6P still has a smaller footprint.
+Jack Robinson I can understand that. Honestly I'd rather have a hump that stretches to the ends of the phone so that it would lay flat on a table, rather than it rocking from having a hump only in the center like the 5X
I'm sure someone else already pointed this out. But in case they haven't, the screen on last year's Nexus 6 is 5.96" (which is closer to the device's numerical title) as opposed to the 5.7" display of this year's Nexus 6P.
I'm actually super excited about the finger print scanner on the back, I have the first gen Nexus 6, and my finger actually rests on the dimple as I'm pulling the phone out of my pocket. I could totally see this being amazing, the phone will be unlocked by the time I look at the screen!
Wow, never used the original N6, but the 6P's whites look much brighter and well, whiter. Really looking forward to seeing how screen looks in person. So glad they went with AMOLED, especially with the Motorola styled lockscreen notifications that are possible.
+DrGanja99 Well the Nexus 6P uses Samsung's AMOLED panel. Samsung is known to make the best AMOLED panels thanks to their own patented "PenTile Matrix" technology. This is a clear advantage over last year's Nexus 6 which used the typical AMOLED.
+Tony “Stark” Tran I was very sceptical about the 6P's display, the nexus 6's was terrible imo. Yellow tint, poor brightness. From the video's i've seens so far the 6P's screen will be excellent
+Wilfredo Chavarria Ordered in Canada, came to 768$! FFS could order it to Alberta and ill save 30$ and itll be 730 but honestly not worth it so ordered to Saskatchewan...where i am.
+Wilfredo Chavarria It really really sucks we need to get a better govt in power to get our economy started again ffs its fucking terrible the dollar has hit so far low!
Can you do a camera photo comparison, it would be nice to see OIS v Larger pixel sensor. (of course cameras would have to be set at the same resolution and same camera app used)
I recently updated my Nexus 5 with a Nexus 6 four $325 and I am quite happy with my decision. I am already getting curious about the next hardware developer for the Nexus 6, it would be nice if Google and Huawei work together for another year to improve on this phone with at least force touch screen, SD 820, and 4GB RAM
Just bought myself a new Nexus 6 for $289.99.. Is it worth it to pay $500 (72% more) for a better camera, a fingerprint sensor and a metal body? Not for me. Is it worth it to buy a "Motorola" product over a "Huawei" product? Any day of the week!
timg2727 lol Tim, displays are not 100% the same either. Batches of Note 4's looked different like my wife's Note 4 looked a tiny bit different but entirely similar to my Note 4. The Note Edge looked a little more Yellowish, and in the comparison I've done both displays on the Note 4 and Note 5 look very similar as well. Color wasn't tweaked too much, brightness was.
for the nexus 6 users here, can anyone comment on their overall battery life from day to day? I had an HTC DNA for the longest time before switching to iPhone 6 bc it would randomly drain battery over the course of an hour. But I really like the nexus 6p but I feel spoiled by the endurance iPhone has.
+Brandon McBride Only official statement is that they will not be selling through US carriers, only carriers in other countries. If you have a source for that claim, I'd love to see it.
I'm confused. What is the best android device to get? I have a galaxy s6 I love it but all this hype about the iphone 6s is kind of dragging me in. Now I want an iPhone 6s maybe. I don't know what phone to get I want something that never freezes, lags, crashes apps etc.. I don't know why my galaxy s6 does those things. I want something super fast and snappy. lag free. crash free. I never had a nexus that's why I'm here I'm looking around. One question. . are nexus device the real deal Android smartphones ? or the galaxies? and which is better for me?
+Tony M If you haven't already try clearing the cache, using an alternative launcher like Nova, reinstalling problem apps., disabling apps. you don't use, and finally if all else fails backup your data and do a factory reset.
I can't decide that will I buy this phone or wait for the next Nexus model that is again better (maybe thinner, better screen and camera etc.) because I'm Finn student and if I buy an expensive phone, I will keep it like 2-3 years before getting new one. And ofc when Google releases next Nexus phone, the 6P is cheaper to buy than now. So should I wait a year for the newer model and then buy the New Nexus / (cheaper) 6 P or now spend 700€ to buy 64 Gig 6 P? Right now I own Galaxy S4 and it works perfectly fine.
That's a subjective question. Simply put its cheaper then the Nexus 6 release price, is all metal, more powerful cpu and gpu. USB type C means reversible plug. Bigger battery, newer AMOLED display. Better camera for low light shooting with laser focus. Higher megapixel front facing camera. Finger print sensor and includes $50 play store credit. To me that list screams yes.
Michael Simmons Yes I know the 6P is an upgrade and everything is a "little" bit better. To an extreme you probably won't notice or won't care because they are milliseconds of difference. I'd buy it for the finger print sensor but then again, the placement sucks. If I have the phone on the table, every time I want to unlock it, I have to pick it up, unlike the iPhone I just have to press on top of it. The Nexus 6 has a bigger screen for media consumption against 6P though.
Dude why didn't you lay them down side by side to see the differences? Smh. Google said its smaller than the nexus, obviously we are looking for that when you stack both of them up.
Damn I was about thinking of switching to a nexus 6 but the 6P's design is nice though and fingerprint reader but I will wait and see if the battery life is good or if its just trash
That metal design gives the 6P a super slick look. Slick as in cool or tight or hip. But the 1G Nexus 6 has really slim top and bottom bezels. I guess the 6P FF 8MP camera had to make them bigger to fit the sensor upfront in the 6P. The Nexus 6 is still an attractive device both in looks features and cost, while the 6P is like for professional or power users with its WQHD screen both front and rear cameras USBC, fast charging, imprint sensor and dual front facing speakers. If only they added SD to the Sim card tray this phone would be the killer Smartphone.
Now that I see the hump on the back is more recessed... the 6p is sexy as hell! Now do I choose the Moto X Pure w/ the Moto features, sd card but smaller battery... or the Nexus 6p with a SuperAmoled screen, bigger battery and a fingerprint sensor?? It's never been this hard deciding which phone to get smh. My question is which camera is better and can I activate Google Now with the screen off on the 6p?
i got the nexus 6 and in my opinion it looks alot better then the 6p.. the front of the 6p has on top and bottom huge bessels wich nexus 6 doesn't have , and the screen on 6p is flat and the 6 has an small curve so it looks alot better
+vikram supercar Its a great upgrade but if you love wireless charging and OIS, Then i would reccomend not to. hell i say keep the 6 for this year and wait for the new 2016 nexus.
+vikram supercar No problem. But i like i said, its a great upgrade! You get a better battery, fingerprint, better speakers, pretty much better everything. BUT! like i said, if you like wireless charging and OIS, then i would not reccomend it. Hell i say save up for the 2016 nexus because they are both being made by HTC and the 2 devices will have 5.5 inches and 5 inches. 5.5 is PERFECT!
+vikram supercar Honestly, it's not worth upgrading to a 6P. The main advantage of the 6P is really the fingerprint scanner, which was the main reason I upgraded. The CPU isn't much better though it is more power efficient than the one in the N6. If you lock your phone with a pin or password, it's definitely worth considering even if performance isn't leaps and bounds over the N6. There is a few other perks such as a better screen and a bettter camera, and slightly better battery life. I do believe the N6 gets better reception, but the N6P has a newer generation LTE radio. They are both great device. I dont think you could go wrong staying with the N6 or upgrading.
The Nexus 6P design reminds me of old Samsung AA59 00345A remote controller. A lot. That much that I've spent 5 minutes trying to find the exact model.
The bulge on the back, for whatever "minimal" it may be, is still noticeable and is why I will stick with my N6. Also, they shouldn't have downsized it from 5.96 to 5.7...its an okay at most (the 6P), but for those two reasons I'm sticking with the Nexus 6.
I had iPhone 6S 64GB but my friend has it, also I needed money at the time and traded plus 150 and then sent me 300 and waiting on 65 extra...I basically sold it for almost 1k..
hey Josh u got 2 things wrong in the video that I'm sure u realized by now.. 1. nexus 6 5.96in and 2. both have Amoled display type on both not just 6p..!!
While the design looks amazing I'm sticking with my nexus6. I prefer the larger screen, and the lack of OIS and wireless charging is a letdown for me. Also USB-C is a neat idea but not everyone has it yet so you could forget about charging your phone if you are on the go and need to borrow a charger. Again it is definitely an eleghant design but personally I don't think it's worth the upgrade.
Same here. There isn't any other phone with this screen size that has a quad hd amoled display, so I'll keep mine for awhile as well. I want to go bigger but all the other phones only have 1080p lcd displays and those pale in comparison to the Nexus 6 screen.
hey at 0:31 you misspoke, the Nexus 6 is 5.96" not 5.7".
+Josh Smith he also said only the 6P has AMOLED screen, when they both have AMOLED screens
+MrDrosophila truuue.
That's right Idk why Google went to a 5.7 that's smaller I'm keeping my N6
+James Kim not in screen size
+MrDrosophila nexus 6 has cheaper, dimmer amoled.
Nexus 6 Moto has a 5.96 inch display, while the Huawei Nexus 6P has a 5.7inch display. They're not the same size. This years display is actually smaller.
and if i remember, nexus 6 had OIS and 13MP Camera
***** He deleted his comment hahaaha
***** The bloke that was having a crack at me.
+cjdacka i was thinking the same thing as soon as he said it
+cjdacka its the same size man just not the same size screen
Joshua is usually spot on (99%) but some major mistakes here, very surprising for him...1) Nexus 6 is 5.96 inch screen, not 5.7 and Nexus 6 is also AMOLED like the new N6p. And this is within first minute of video, I haven't even finished yet.
the curve on the Nexus 6 doesn't make it harder to manage it's the width that does that, the curve actually helps the phone fit better in your hand.
The Huawei Nexus 6P definitely looks better. Clean and Sleek. Huawei really leaped ahead this year. Good job
+Austin Hughes They've always had good hardware. Just crappy software.
+DrGanja99 Pure android bad software? Wtf
+BeRsErK A he mean huawei software
+Aufa Rahastya O, my bad.
+Austin Hughes Ma Brother (not really)
I'm sorry but the Motorola looks better in my opinion not to mention they did a better job in providing more screen real estate.
dude they both have the se size screen 5.7 inches diagonal.
+smood006 Nexus 6 Moto has a 5.96 inch display, while the Huawei Nexus 6P has a 5.7inch display.
+smood006 the Motorola Nexus 6 had a display size of 5.96 inches while the Huawei Nexus 6P has a display size of 5.7 inches
Lucas Cassan Mate, you literally just copied my reply.
+cjdacka mate, he needs to hear it from as many people as possible xD
I've not seen a phone made yet that looks sexier than the front of the Nexus 6 slim bezels with that huge 6, inch curved screen just looks outstanding
agreed. what would seem to be too large of a screen made comfortable. I love my nexus 6. just bought it brand new off eBay for $239. fair deal, but the phone, other than the mediocre camera, was pretty ahead of its time. and it's getting nougat whoop!
JohnVo423 already has nougat is you sign up to the beta programme you can install it right now
JohnVo423 www.techradar.com/how-to/phone-and-communications/mobile-phones/how-to-download-android-7-0-n-right-now-1316615
The Nexus 6 2014 has a bigger display, but is shorter in size? how'd they mange to make it longer/taller? is it because they wanted to make it so skinny/slim?
+Dante Bradley Symmetrical bezels and the camera
sadubros That's unfortunate. The Nexus 6P looks prettier though.
+Dante Bradley The bottom bezel on the old 6 is nearly non-existent. But it's too low, makes it hard to hit buttons.
+Dante Bradley Nexus 6: 159.3 x 83 x 10.1 mm, Nexus 6P: 159.3 x 77.8 x 7.3 mm. It seems "shorter" due to it being wider. Overall, 6P still has a smaller footprint.
The only reason why I'm not getting the N6P is the screen size. Google should've left it at 6" -_-
+Mike Studmuffin who the hell in their right ming wants an 8 inch phone? that's a tablet dude c'mon
I want a 7 inch phone too but no manufacturer makes them with quad hd amoled display, only 1080p lcd and those suck.
Very nice refinement! Just wish that camera hump wasn't there.
The hump isn't that big of a deal, if you look at the measurements it's only about 2mm thicker than the rest of the body
Mark Bacani that may be true and I'll stay cautiously optimistic until I can actually get one in my hand to make a final judgement.
+Jack Robinson Actually it adds a tad little of premium look to the device.. i kinda dig it !!
+Jack Robinson I can understand that. Honestly I'd rather have a hump that stretches to the ends of the phone so that it would lay flat on a table, rather than it rocking from having a hump only in the center like the 5X
it not that big
I'm sure someone else already pointed this out. But in case they haven't, the screen on last year's Nexus 6 is 5.96" (which is closer to the device's numerical title) as opposed to the 5.7" display of this year's Nexus 6P.

Do you guys know which carries this phone will be on
WHY IS NOBODY CHECKING OUT THE FRONT FACING CAMERA!! So frustrating.
so they will release them in carriers in the US or NOT? your info towards the end is misleading..
How's the screen compared to the Note 5? Any upgradeable storage? How's this stack up to the Pure? I wanna see the $100 or so difference.
i'm wondering why there's no 1080p 60fps with this camera...
Nice! Great job Josh!
Nexus 6P looks great!!! I'llbe waiting for your review Josh...
Wow, never used the original N6, but the 6P's whites look much brighter and well, whiter. Really looking forward to seeing how screen looks in person. So glad they went with AMOLED, especially with the Motorola styled lockscreen notifications that are possible.
At 1:52 you can see that the Nexus 6 is at half brightness while the 6P is at full brightness, but it still looks really good.
+OGBoshy I bet it's going to be better. Along the lines of the Note 4.
looking great
+DrGanja99 Well the Nexus 6P uses Samsung's AMOLED panel.
Nexus 6 32GB is available for $299 on ebay. Is it worth upgrading to Nexus 6P even at that price?
i just hate how its going to cost over 700 here in canada
ture
+Wilfredo Chavarria Just bc of that I may get the 5x instead. Even tho that is $450+ for us Canadians
+ballerintheair its 500 when it becomes available in Canada
+Wilfredo Chavarria Ordered in Canada, came to 768$! FFS could order it to Alberta and ill save 30$ and itll be 730 but honestly not worth it so ordered to Saskatchewan...where i am.

is there any large difference b/w them except the fingerpring sensor
@ 4:01 is see the N6 was at 50% brightness and BTW both are Super AMOLED right?
+Sam Conover super amoled and amoled is basicly the same.. samsung only use the "super AMOLED" term as a slogen for their devices
Which one is better? 6p's screen or the 6's in terms of color and quality.
So it will be available at sprint or other u.s carriers when it come out?
dont you think that Nexus 6 is marginally larger in size despite having same size.. I mean in width department.. what you say... ??
how are the colors under different brightnesses?
i hope they fixed the yellow tint they had in the 6...... otherwise this is another skip for me =\
Thanks for the video! How is the volume and quality of front speakers, comparing to original nexus 6?
Nexus 6 is still viable? Better than Motorala Pure?
do you think it's worth upgrading from my nexus 6 will it be able to perform or out perform the Samsung s6 and note 5
You are simply wrong about the size difference. Look at the phones side by side. How can you say there is a "substantial size decrease" ?
Can you do a camera photo comparison, it would be nice to see OIS v Larger pixel sensor. (of course cameras would have to be set at the same resolution and same camera app used)
what about speakers ? pretty loud? im using now Lg g flex 2 and its very nice sound...
0:30 You said that both devices have 5,7'' screen. Sorry, but that is just soooo wrong. Nexus 6 is 5.96 inches.
I just got the nexus 6 do you think I should try to sell it on eBay for $450-$500 to get the new nexus 6p or just be happy with the nexus 6
When will the Nexus 6 get the Marshmallow update? I still have Lollipop 5.1.1
+BigMarks OK. Thanks
On October 5th
apart from software is huawei the new htc? great nexus phones but 6P too big the 5X is perfect size but not as nice as the 6P
I was actually debating which Nexus 6 to get. Thanks for doing this!
Is it still worth getting the nexus 6? On eBay it's only 299-379 euros with 64GB while the 6p I can't find under €700 with 64GB.
Had it for 3 months now hahah
Is this another warm display like the Nexus 6?
if I buy it would I be able to connect it too Boost Mobile carrier ?..
how is the screen compared to Samsungs SAMOLEDs?
How were the speakers? As loud as the Nexus 6?
6P at full brightness vs. 6 at half brightness, and there appears to be little visual difference.
Not looking good for daylight visibility.
I have the vertical app draw on mu Nexus 6 on 5.1.1 , It's Normal ??
I thought they confirmed that they will not sell through carriers??
Just bought myself a new Nexus 6 for $289.99.. Is it worth it to pay $500 (72% more) for a better camera, a fingerprint sensor and a metal body? Not for me. Is it worth it to buy a "Motorola" product over a "Huawei" product? Any day of the week!
can anyone confirm that the 6p has a led light enabled and miracast turned on or will i have to root this one like i did the N6 to enable it all??
Did anyone of you guys could catch the Amazon , both in Black Friday or last week, offer for the Unlocked Nexus 6???
I did.. got my nexus 6 for 250.. case and screen protector for 20 bucks.. definitely worth the money
I just got the 64 GB at 299+three covers for the total of 330 bucks, that's totally worth the money dude
Federico German Escobar damn man.. 50 bucks more for 32 extra gigs? Should've gotten that
+The Mexican Potato I thought the storage was worth the price ! Has the phone arrived to you yet?
Federico German Escobar I've been using it since Dec 24th
is that the frost or aluminum version?
can I get this phone from my carrier, or only Google??
why dosen't nexus 6 have marshmellow ?
I hope the AMOLED display's quality is on par with Galaxys S6/Note5 variants
I know right coming from a guy that still has a note 3, and is upgrading soon.
I highly doubt that it will, if you're lucky it might be on the Note 4 level which is not far behind the Note 5.
+timg2727 That panel is absolutely beautiful and the difference between the Note 5 and Note 4 displays is marginal at best.
it's like 10% brighter.
timg2727 I own both Tim, I'm telling you there isn't a big difference between them. Not in color reproduction, brightness or sharpness.
timg2727 lol Tim, displays are not 100% the same either.
Dude get your shit together. N6 takes 4k video, the screen size is quoted wrong and the 6 also has AM display lol...
finally took five minutes to find a comment regarding this
same here lol
1:01 - 1:06 Wow those exact same hand movements though
how is the screen quality/brightness compare to the note 5?
+billc Less of course. The 6P is probably along the lines of the Note 4, which is still MUCH better than the N6's poopy display.
Sony X5 or Moto X Pure or LG V10 or Nexus 6P?!?!? HELP!!! Thanks.
for the nexus 6 users here, can anyone comment on their overall battery life from day to day? I had an HTC DNA for the longest time before switching to iPhone 6 bc it would randomly drain battery over the course of an hour. the nexus 6 has a 5.96 display not 5.7
should I upgrade from the htc m8 to the 6p?
when is the release date for the carriers
+E Bo not being sold by carriers (at least in U.S.) you have to buy through google but it is unlocked and has radios for all major carriers.
+Jonathan Walmsley but Google did state that as time goes on they will be available to carriers.
***** good to know - thanks!
+Brandon McBride Only official statement is that they will not be selling through US carriers, only carriers in other countries. If you have a source for that claim, I'd love to see it.

Ophelia De Beaufort I will try
+Tony M Do yourself a huge favor and buy the true nexus of 2015, Alcatel Idol 3 5.5. Thank me later...
what are you wearing on your right hand?
I just got the nexus 6 for $350. should I try to sell it for $450-$500 or just be happy with the nexus 6 ?
sell it its new in the box and get the new nexus 6p
+Kerry Tappana how would you sell it for for more than it's worth new?
+igor syeryy retailers like Google are still selling it for $500
+Kerry Tappana Motorola is also still selling it for $500
+Kerry Tappana It doesn't matter because everywhere else they are 350 new
the nexus 6 also does 4k recording. And also has a 6" display, and also has Amoles qhd. And wireless charging too, something omitted in 6p.
screen on the nexus 6 is 5.96, not 5.7 as stated in the video

Why is the Nexus 6 on Android 5.0?
i really like the new nexus but i don't know if it's a good change becouse i have a note 3.

Huawei? interesting. I've worked with them before. They are not very professional or organized, but they sure work harder than anyone I've met.
I have a nexus 6 and I like it for now. It will get marshmallow very soon. I have been told the 810 overheats.???
This is the first Gen change where I didn't feel like I needed the new Nexus.. But as a Nexus 6 owner i desperately want that camera... :(
but does it have an ir blaster???
When is it coming out?
I currently have a nexus 6 should I upgrade to a 6P?
+vikram supercar Its a great upgrade but if you love wireless charging and OIS, Then i would reccomend not to. hell i say keep the 6 for this year and wait for the new 2016 nexus.
***** thanks for fit advise bro...I decided I would keep the 6
+vikram supercar No problem.
Other than that black bar, the 6p is beautiful. Reminds me of the One M7.
I just wish the 6p kept the same width as the 6 and added OIS. I woulda been sold
still confused whether to buy nexus 6p or 6....
+Jelyn Sison buy an alcatel idol 3 5.5 instead. thank me later.
just pre-ordered the frost white 6P. I know I will buy it when I first saw it.
I had iPhone 6S 64GB but my friend has it, also I needed money at the time and traded plus 150 and then sent me 300 and waiting on 65 extra...I basically sold it for almost 1k..
moto x style or nexus 6p?
+Louie Weng Id go for the 6P personally, but you can get a great deal with the Moto X
Moto X cheaper, sdcard and customizable.
+Masterguy635 apparently nexus 6p is $900AUD for the base model......
+duttyow709 Nexus 6p, starts with 32gb, fingerprint, and bigger battery, and better processor and screem (imo)
+sadubros Moto X is better value for your money imo.
You said 6p is Amoled, but both of them are with Amoled display.
So does anyone know if the 6p has wireless charging?
It does not. Neither Nexus phone this year offers wireless charging.
Nexus 6 has it, it just is more picky in what works.
hey Josh u got 2 things wrong in the video that I'm sure u realized by now.. 1. nexus 6 5.96in and 2. both have Amoled display type on both not just 6p..!!
I'm not shelling out for a smaller device.
I'm sticking with my N6 for a good while yet.
Same here. There isn't any other phone with this screen size that has a quad hd amoled display, so I'll keep mine for awhile as well. I want to go bigger but all the other phones only have 1080p lcd displays and those pale in comparison to the Nexus 6 screen.
I think that's a bad idea record at 24fps phones reviews, because the performance seems to be slowly than the real performance
