+Vulkanic Yes the really good ones are amazing which are found in the note 4 and 5 and now this :D. I currently own a note 4 and after following displaymattes advice hy calibrating it to the SRGB standard settings which is hidden away in the options menu (to prevent oversaturation through samsungs factory settings) I was blown away... White point and color accuracy and grey levels are absolutely on point and contrast is are on perfect levels. AMOLED under Samsung's development has really come a long way and tbey no longer suffer from burn degradation and overheating which were common issues in the GS3 and GS4. Its just a shame that Samsung dampens its potential with their factory settings (adaptive, cinema, dynamic and photo setting). The standard SRBG setting is what really lets these panels reach their highest quality levels. Displaymatte did a very in depth review of both panels :) I was impressed by iphone displays in the past but these panels take the crown, they are really an incredible piece of technology :)
+Durararide!! I think that the Moto X vs Nexus 5X have more sense (same processor and almost same price).. And Answering your question, by specs and features, the Nexus 6P is better than the Moto X Pure Edition in several ways, but it cost 100$ more than the Moto X Pure Edition, for me, I prefer the Moto X Pure Edition and save 100$, maybe to upgrade my phone to the next year.
I'm debating cancelling my 5X preorder and switching to the 6P. Only thing I don't like about the 6P is the size, I really wish it was same size as the 5X. What do you guys think?
Am I the only one that really doesn't care about wireless charging? It's really not hard to plug your phone into its port, you're saving virtually no time by putting it on a wireless charger. To make matters even more inconvenient you have to purchase the charger when the usb one is provided for you and charges way faster. What is the point?
Nexus Team did an AMA on reddit Yesterday. here is what they said about the 6p screen. "Yep, confirmed: Nexus 6P has the latest generation panels from Samsung. One of things we deeply care for is the quality and accuracy of the display through which all of us connect with the stuff we care about. We created a very tight spec (white-point temperature, delta-E variance, color-space accuracy, etc) for the 6P WQHD AMOLED panel, so it was important that we use the most cutting edge panel technology available."
+LeonDaChameleon ...The Moto X Play. That's the hottest phone here in Canada right now. Stacks up against the 5x spec and price wise. Expandable storage and a huge battery alone prove how the Moto Play is the best bang for your buck right now!
+sayan3wade agreed, great bang for your buck. doesn't stack up against the 5x at all though, i have a moto x play and the performance is indeed disappointing, just not nexus smooth. also, the camera is an absolute nightmare. 6P all the way!!!
Ridge Shukrun I own one too. I beg to differ, i'm in love with this phone, the camera is quite average it gets the job done. The gestures is what also makes me fall in love with it. Idk because both these phones ship with 2g of ram. So they may very well perform the exact same
For the fingerprint sensor and a case they'll make a cutout for it. Not a big deal. Also placing it in the back keeps the clean look on the front that Nexus devices are about. You're an Apple fan so that's expected.
+centfla They could have put it on the side with the power button like some phones already have. That way you can unlock it when it's sitting on a table or something, facing up.
+2010ngojo true but you can probably still unlock without the sensor on the back. The sensor position is in a natural resting area for the fingers. This is good for apps that require signing in.
***** So are the sides of the phone. How else are you gonna grip the phone? Not sure if the scanner on the nexus is a push button or a capacities button though. Because if it's not a push button then how are you gonna turn the screen on, and thus unlocking it? Personally I prefer the side and front, then the back for scanner position.
+Ken Chen He only uses the devices for less than a week before giving his reviews, so once they send out review devices it won't take long. That's the reason I don't trust TB's reviews. They're more first impressions than reviews.
Am I the only one who thinks wireless charging is the biggest phone gimmick ever? I'm happy that almost no one is supporting it. Do people realize that it's not truly wireless, because your device has to physically sit on top of a charger in order to charge? That's the same exact thing as a wired charger, but your phone is just invisibly tethered to the charger. That's so pointless. But when wireless charging becomes truly wireless, and you walk into your house and your phone charges while in your pocket, that will be fucking awesome - unless it gives you cancer. Which it will.
+Sand im not a huge fan over wireless charging but i see why people like it since all you need to do is just throw it on the wireless charging pad which can be easier than plugging in the wire i guess
takes like 3 seconds shorter than plugging it in. so yes I support it. and if you can include it on a phone, then why not? it's like One Plus removing NFC.
+Big Mo you wnna save 3 secs to just plug it in? you do realise wireless charging is not fast charging..its normal charge and you end up wasting twice or even thrice the time charging the phone..doesn't makes a single sense to me .
raghav batra note 5 and S6 edge plus supports fast wireless charging Also if you're going to bed you don't want to be fiddling with wires in the dark
I got a Huawei Ascend Mate 7 and I can vouch as an American android user that it showed up both the Nexus 5 and the HTC One that I had prior. If anyone is hesitant about switching to the Huawei Nexus 6P, I'd vouch for the phone really.
Did Google get rid of the LED notification light on these new Nexus phones? Seems like they got rid of it and replaced it with the ambient mode or expect everyone to buy an Android Wear device to get alerted to notifications.
Can't wait for the actual review! Mainly the 5X since it suits my budget and overall everything looks good except the 2 gigs of RAM. It just doesn't seem like the standard this year.
I currently have a Nexus 6 and i've had a lot of issues with it and previously used an iPhone. I much prefer Nexus over iPhone devices. What would you recommend for me?
+Ryan Origin yh but i mean it didnt really help htc camera on their phones. the htc one m7/m8 still had bad cameras when compared to the rivals such as the galaxy s5/s6
+fightnight14 much better? the 810 (also your silly v2.1) heats up to an extent that its power is between the 800 and 801 , so the soc is worse than the 805, also that camera module is just ugly and beside the fingerprint reader i dont see any new things on that ugly 6P
Really? you can wave your hand over the screen to activate ambient display? is that true??? because that is literally my FAVORITE motorola feature and all i was really worried of missing when switching to the 6p...
had two note 5s from verizon, that reason being i had so many glitches and problems i couldnt use it any longer. switched to sprint with a nexus 6p and i love it
if the 5X had dual speakers, 3GB of newer RAM, and the 32GB was $379 it would be my next phone...that being said Captain Phasma is on her way in 3-4 weeks (Aluminium 6P)
1:45 - 1:50 - I'm curious, do you guys even research things you review? Like 'any' time at all? Seriously. Or do you just read leaks, go to events, read specs and say things. The display they have is obviously not made by Huawei. Members of the Google Nexus team (all leads of the Nexus or Android) have said it's the newest generation of Samsung's QHD panels but with better color gamut, balance and color accuracy. I mean, it doesn't take more than five minutes on Google to figure this out. I like Techno Buffalo because of Jon's laid back, regular guy attitude and vibe from his videos to social media to everything else. But there's a difference in laid back and poorly prepared, apathetic and even irresponsible. A lot of consumers or people who watch UA-cam video are much, much, much less informed than one could imagine. This is obvious with comments like, "Does it have _____ (something that the company has been advertising non-stop for example)." I've noticed things like this with the Moto X and other videos where IN video members of TB don't have the answer to things and don't know everything. I mean it's kind of sad. Things like that display comment are extremely important since the Moto X 2014 used old, previous gen panels from Samsung and guess what - they had light bleed and other poor qualities while Samsung moved on to the new and improved technology for their own line. Well rest assured, Huawei does NOT make the panels for the Nexus 6P - Samsung does and it's the best and newest technology Samsung offers.
I would love some advice. I am going to buy a new phone. I always wanted to get the original Nexus 5 but by the time I thought I needed an upgrade and buy it, I knew that a new nexus 5 would be coming out and I was better off waiting. Anyway, now I am torn between the 5x and 6p and also the LG V10. I will use the phone mainly for browsing and using apps. I do not take a huge amount of photos at all. Any help would be great. Thanks.
both devices are excellent. 2gb ram isnt a issue on the nexus 5x as it sill seems enough for android but then again in a few months time we could soon find 2gb is not enough. especially if your going on a 2 year contract then it might be abit of an issue just like how 1gb ram is barely enough on a phone these days
Anyone know the overall dimensions of the 5X compared to the Moto X Pure? 1st gen Moto X user here (I know, get with the times man), but just not sure I am ready to take the leap to a really big phone. How about the build quality of the 5X with the plastic back. Does it feel cheap?
A case doesn`t hinder fingerprint recognition or the comfort , at least that`s my experience with the Hawei Mate7, unless we`re talking, of course, about one of the rugged thick cases with two layers of protection.
I'm using nexus 5 from the time it's got launched. However, I was waiting for new nexus since I didn't like the Motorola nexus 6. Now I am really liking the spec and design of the 6P. So what do you think people should I go to the 6P or should I completely move to iPhone 6s? To try new OS
Bought a Moto X Pure I love mine so much and the only thing that really compels me to buy a 6p is the fingerprint sensor however not having one is no big deal. I don't think I want to buy a 6p after using this phone.
I was upset about the 5X specs and RAM at first, but then I thought about it.... Google is going the way of Apple, in the sense that they KNOW what they need to power their devices effectively, and slower clock speeds/1080p mean better batter life. I'm actually totally stocked for the 5X and can't wait to see what Google does with it.
that-random-guy 87 originally i was getting the 5x but that 2gb ram im abit unsure since in a years time it might not be enough. so im going for the nexus 6p for that 3gb ram and snapdragon 810
The the way i would buy Nexus is get rid of the virtual buttons, takes up screen display, copy exactly like Samsung a physical button and 2 virtual buttons at the bottom without taking up screen display
watching this on my Nexus 5. still a great phone after 2yrs.I think I'll upgrade to the 5x
+Jaden Abed Same here

The reason why the Nexus 6P's display looks so good because they use the latest AMOLED panel from Samsung.
can you give me a source on that? because iam really considering this phone
Ordo Malleus www.phonearena.com/news/Google-Nexus-6P-uses-the-latest-Samsung-AMOLED-display_id74264 It was during Reddit AMA Nexus.
+Ordo Malleus Have you seen an AMOLED display before? If not, go find one and admire it. Then you'll see where he is coming from.
+Vulkanic Yes the really good ones are amazing which are found in the note 4 and 5 and now this :D. +Shellyman 4K™ thx man :)
moto x pure vs nexus 6p
also vs lg g4.
+Phillip Truong since the LG v10 was announced today I would love for them to compare it to the 6P
Yeah that's true.
+Durararide!! Pure wins. I already researched this.
Nexus 6P is just beautiful

its not available in Canada??? 😖😖 I wanted one!.
+LeonDaChameleon ...The Moto X Play. That's the hottest phone here in Canada right now. Stacks up against the 5x spec and price wise. Expandable storage and a huge battery alone prove how the Moto Play is the best bang for your buck right now!

+LeonDaChameleon ayyy fellow Canadian i also have the same struggle so sad like i don't want a x play i need a x pure or x style
I hope you're performing the full review of the 5x as you are the best online reviewer on the net, in my opinion.

How are the speakers? I have the Nexus 6 and the speakers are amazing. hopefully they brought some good speakers to the 6p
which color is your favorite for the 6p, mine is between graphite and white
how about the different pricing on the european market?
I have a note 5, I'm thinking of selling it and getting a 6p, Thoughts?
I bought the 6p here in Canada it starts at a base price of $699 so it was pretty expensive but worth it !!
Is the display on par with the Note 5?
I can't wait for you to review both phones
Ken Chen 😦
+Ken Chen With Jon, the wait is always worth it.
+Ken Chen He only uses the devices for less than a week before giving his reviews, so once they send out review devices it won't take long. That's the reason I don't trust TB's reviews. They're more first impressions than reviews.
Ken Chen you are right, I'd rather watch MKBHD
+MrBlitz Except, as Ken pointed out, their reviews are kinda pretty shitty.
Would the 6P be too big of a jump from a 4.7" Nexus 4?
6P seems great phone to run for and LG done pretty good job to fit in that price point
Am I the only one who thinks wireless charging is the biggest phone gimmick ever? I'm happy that almost no one is supporting it. Big Mo are you sure they support fast wireless charging ?i doubt it
is the front of the silver nexus 6p silver or white or black
will the image and video quality differ between both these phone because of different processors?
+TechnoBuffao John, does the 5X have tap to wake?
Any idea if the 6P has an LED notification light?
The 6p has almost everything I'm looking for in a phone. 128GB of internal storage is a nice option for non-expandable storage.
I got a Huawei Ascend Mate 7 and I can vouch as an American android user that it showed up both the Nexus 5 and the HTC One that I had prior. If anyone is hesitant about switching to the Huawei Nexus 6P, I'd vouch for the phone really.
Is the white 5X the same material as the original white Nexus 5? If the white is soft touch (like the black) I think it will get dirty.
Did Google get rid of the LED notification light on these new Nexus phones? Seems like they got rid of it and replaced it with the ambient mode or expect everyone to buy an Android Wear device to get alerted to notifications.

what about OTG in this device ?
that shirt is awesome jon! I need something like that to show off my love for tech
This reminds me of Ultra pixel. HTC should had keep their iconic technology, not completely abandoned it.
+Ryan Origin yh but i mean it didnt really help htc camera on their phones. the htc one m7/m8 still had bad cameras when compared to the rivals such as the galaxy s5/s6
where's the speaker placement on the 5x??
I don't know which phone to get. which one do you think is top dog ?iPhone 6s plus, galaxy s6 edge plus or nexus 6p
so, we wont be able to buy these phones on contract through our carriers?
I kinda wish they had the red color option for the 5X like they did for the 5.
Is the 5x using the 808 or the 810
+louie Looop 808
Should i still buy a lg g4?
to be fair jon. you dont need a case on these phones. they dont bend. ;)
Just bought a brand new Nexus 6 for $299. Very happy!!!
Congrats
It's not new tho
+hideout video New as in the condition, not new as in newly released.
$80 more for a much better and latest Nexus. Should have waited
+fightnight14 much better? the 810 (also your silly v2.1) heats up to an extent that its power is between the 800 and 801 , so the soc is worse than the 805, also that camera module is just ugly and beside the fingerprint reader i dont see any new things on that ugly 6P
is there double tap to wake
is 16gb for nexus 5x enough?
Are these phones coming already encrypted like the Nexus 6?
+Travis Moss Jumatatu Yes
I'm using a HTC One m7, you guys think it's worth upgrading to a 5x?
I have and m7 too but decided to go with the Motorola x play. has really good reviews
+Tim Reich NO. I got also the M7 but no way i'm leaving stereo speakers, so I'll take the 6P and my advice take it to, or the Moto X Style.
Great info John! The Nexus 6P is my next daily driver :D
so excited for this phone. looks so nice, and that sweet marshmallow will be the cherry on top
Really? you can wave your hand over the screen to activate ambient display? is that true??? because that is literally my FAVORITE motorola feature and all i was really worried of missing when switching to the 6p...

I have a HTC One M7 and is thinking about if I should buy the LG G4 or Nexus 5X or 6P
Any advice?
Great video:)
How about the sound of the stereo speakers, better than the Nexus 6? or how it compare to the Moto X Style speakers?
Is it screen as good as in Note 5?
if the 5X had dual speakers, 3GB of newer RAM, and the 32GB was $379 it would be my next phone...that being said Captain Phasma is on her way in 3-4 weeks (Aluminium 6P)
That 6P looks really enticing.
I like the 6P, but I am waiting for a review of the camera.
I bought the Nexus 6 not even a year ago for....650$, now it's 350$... god dang it man!!!!
nexus 6 (now on sale for 300usd) vs lg nexus 5x?
planning to upgrade to 6p from OnePlus One. what do you guys think? worth it?
if your OP1 has CM its not worth it wait for the QSD820
+Uchiha Madara yep, I'm still running CM12 on my OPO, batter life is amazing, everything is butter smooth.
+Uchiha Madara BTW what do you mean wait for qsd 820 aren't the current models already 820
theArchive1O nope, there is still not a Smartphone running the 820 out yet
+Uchiha Madara hmm that's what I saw on a review website...when do u think it will come out anyways
are 2GB RAM and LCD acceptable?
What comforts me is that even the iPhone 6s Plus has 2gb of ram. So I'll definitely go for the 5x.
does the 6p work on Verizon
1:45 - 1:50 - I'm curious, do you guys even research things you review? Like 'any' time at all? Seriously. Or do you just read leaks, go to events, read specs and say things.

Okay, the phone has a "Slight" hump.....but how does it affect me if I'm texting with my phone on the table?

I wish I could get the 6p but they only let you do monthly payments if you're on project fi :/ guess I'm getting the note 5
I have an iPhone 6s and regret buying it... Is it a good idea to buy my first android in many years a nexus or something else why and why not?
Thanks
32GB Nexus 6P or 64GB? I'm able to use my jump on T-Mobile next month but idk when or if the phone is coming to US carriers.
+SKEMETUBE They won't be coming to US carriers
+SKEMETUBE No carriers, buy it straight up or keep saving you peasant.

Yes (Only if you live in the US)

could u help me with whats the user available storage for Nexus 5x 16GB
Opinions please..my G4 is acting up. Want more pure software..Should i get the iphone 6s vs nexus 5x?
btw i dont want a big phone

I have a Samsung galaxy s6 I want a pure stock Android experience is a nexus the best way to go?
nobody did a review of it playing audio on teh front firing dual speakers..
I'm glad Google is going more premium with their Nexus line.
i do not really want wireless chargin, i have never used it. but i really want fast charging to be a norm for all phones
I know you have done a review on apple music, will you do a review of the UA-cam music key? you get a 6mo free trial.
that 6p seems too good to be true. can't wait for reviews. hope battery life and camera are great

I do miss the Nexus 5 and 32GB was enough for me so I might buy the 5x but after using the 6+ for a couple months I'm spoiled by unibody phones....
Will any of those phones work on Verizon??
of course it will
there bands are compatible but I'm not sure if verizon will carry it
+JSantana319 thanks
+Anthony L (Android Premiere) thanks
Man if the Nexus 5X had more than 2GB RAM... That was good 2 years ago but Android is developing everyday.
Is nexus 4 reciving 6.0 Marshmellow? I hope so!
+WhiteMC100 No it isn't.
+WhiteMC100 It isn't but you can find custom ROMs for it if you know where to look (e.g. xda forums)
I wish there was a gold Nexus 6P for the USA.
Do you guys believe it's worth it to upgrade from the Nexus 6?
how abou 652mb on my phone?
I keep hearing all good things about this phone. I'm convinced...

How does this channel have 1,000,000+ subs but only get like 40,000-60,000 views?
Since I'm currently on a galaxy S3 so I'm definitely getting the 6P the best screen is ever used 720p so can't wait for qhd!
I think I'll stick with the nexus 6 the screen size is perfect for me but the 5x in 6p do look awesome
+that-random-guy 87 the 6 is still a beast of a phone but for those coming from the nexus 5 with the old sd800 its a huge upgrade

that-random-guy 87 the old nexus are still quite fast but its still a big upgrade going from like a nexus 4/5 to the 5x or 6p
taz874 are you getting the 6p or the 5x???
that-random-guy 87 originally i was getting the 5x but that 2gb ram im abit unsure since in a years time it might not be enough. so im going for the nexus 6p for that 3gb ram and snapdragon 810
It looks like. It's stupendous morning rain
The the way i would buy Nexus is get rid of the virtual buttons, takes up screen display, copy exactly like Samsung a physical button and 2 virtual buttons at the bottom without taking up screen display
Good video man
Well. Japan phones already had fingerprint sensor in the back of the phone... Way before these phones and other phones had fingerprint scanning.
moto x VS 6p is a must
