I’ve got a TLX, and I can say that after having it for a month, the button transmission is something you get use to. It’s actually easier to use once you get use to going from a shifter stick to buttons. They are easy to distinguish because of their shape and all. Regarding the touch pad, yes, it can be a little frustrating at times, however it’s decent and is fully functional at all speeds. Most touch screens lock out some features when in motion. Something to keep in mind. If you can think about those two points, I think it’s an amazing product. Picking up my RDX, same trim as you treated tomorrow. Returning my 3rd TLX for my RDX. The last 3 cars I’ve had all had the button transmission, and it’s better. Less clutter in the cabin and easier to use without looking at it.
Thanks for your comments! I'm still impressed with the SH AWD. I just bought a 2024 Golf R and it has the RS3 torque vectoring AWD and unlike the Acura, mine is not seamless. Most times I can feel the power shift around. Great SUV. Enjoy
I'm with you on this one: while it's a nice SUV and it would be a top choice of mine if I was looking to buy an SUV in this segment, it's just not my type of vehicle. I'd happily save thousands and either get the Integra (if I cared enough to have the Acura badge and didn't care about losing the upper cargo space from the fastback) or save even more money and get a Civic hatch which delivers 9/10 of the cargo space and practicality in a more compact and sporty package.
The RDX, including this one, has always been based off the Civic/CR-V platform. In this case it's based off the 10th gen Civic/5th gen CR-V. Essentially the formula is, use the CR-V as the base, add the Accord's optional motor and make it look and feel like an Acura.
Yes, this gen RDX has its own platform which makes this more unique, the only thing this RDX shares with the CRV is probably size. While the new CRV is great and comfortable this RDX drives like a sports car, not really comparable.
I was thinking about buying one but when Joe Radies from Radies rides said that this car has a detuned engine why would a car MFG do this to reduce emissions so I am just going to put in a 700 HP in my all wheel drive 2007 Chevy Trailblazer SS screw the new vehicles and the Government!!!

And I agree on the EV but I reviewed one and I could see someone who likes the size, zippiness and luxury of an RDX but wants to try electric liking it.
