      Not a problem at all. I have literally used this camera for every one of my videos since I purchased it instead of my Canon R5. My most recent video that I posted yesterday is probably my best one quality wise so far as I've been experiencing with different lighting set upsin grading for the R 50 footage

    Hey man! JUst bought an R50 to use it as webcam in OBS but my recordings are blurry/seem like low FPS. What cable do you use exactly? Because I currently use a simple noname USB-C cable. Should I get a micro HDMI, would that help with the quality?

    • @RexxReviews
      @RexxReviews  9 місяців тому +1

      I use the cable that came with my R5 with no issues. I know that a higher than average USB-C cable that includes "high speed data transfer" is required as not all USB-C cables have the throughput
      Required. I would also double check on the OBS side of things that you have your resolutions set correctly because that can also make a difference. If you go the micro hdmi route you will then need a capture card. In theory yes that could look better as it's giving a raw stream where I imagine canon has some form of compression on the usb-c side of things. The thing to keep in mind with that is if you're streaming on twitch your limited with how good of a quality you can stream anyway so it might not make a difference in that case.

    Yes, this has definitely been an issue for me as well! I bought two of the R50's, and I can get one to work in OBS, but not the second one. This video was super helpful. The Canon manuals are very detailed (there's just so much information there), and it takes a lot of time to sift through all of it. So, thank you so much for creating this video. @@RexxReviews Yes, I understand, the problem is that Canon is not very explanatory in its camera manuals, in the case of the micro HDMI output they say that there are only two options, auto, where it says that the resolution will be adjusted according to the connected device but not It says what happens if that device is 4K, the other option is 1080. What I want is to place the camera and configure it to record in 4K when necessary in OBS without having to take out cards and copy files, Sony knows that it does it, but I like the touch functionality of Canon

If I'm understanding this correctly, you're saying this one does not require such a capture card? If so, does it use a USB-C to USB cable? Or USB-C to HDMI? I'm grateful for your time and knowledge, cheers!

    • @RexxReviews

      Hey there ! Yes , no capture card needed with this camera. All you need is a usb C to either usb-c or standard 3.0. Your software like obs or meeting software will see the camera like it would any other WebCam. If you want to use it long-term however you would need to get a dummy battery because the USB does not charge it while it’s being used as a WebCam.

    • @just_drums_please
      @just_drums_please Рік тому

      When I used to own the M50, before I sold it, that’s exactly how I used to power the camera. Because it’s on continuous power the camera will run as long as you need it to… no time limit. However, people don’t realize that this specific setup for long form content like live streaming, you will most likely need a separate capture card like an Elgato Cam Link or something similar.

    • @RexxReviews
      @RexxReviews  Рік тому

      If I had to hazard a guess, I would say its more related to an overheating issue. The R5 had this same issue at one point. I know in terms of the R5 having the LCD Flip screen turn off while you were streaming fixed that, I have not been in a situation where I've needed to run the camera for that long so this is the first I've seen of it.

      No, the R100 is just a watered down M50 unfortunately that they put an RF mount on. No new features were at it that the M50 didn’t already have and they even took one or two things away if I remember correctly. The R 100 is nothing more than a cash grab and I mentioned in another video that most people would be better off just saving up a little bit more money and grabbing the R 50 instead. If you’re dead set on getting the R100 you would have to use a standard capture card set up to use it as a WebCam.

      Quite possibly something going on with your computer then because it not only works for the multiple R 50s I have but also the hundreds of people who have posted in my comments that it works for.

    I still can't connect it to the PC with the USB-C port. It simply doesn't recognize it. At this point I feel like I tried everything

    • @RexxReviews

      If you are still having an issue it could be the camera is faulty, your cable could be faulty , something going on with the PC. The settings work for 99% of the people who watch this video so honestly can't say what your issue is.

    It cant charge , well Sony ZV E10 can charge and stream . Tho it has 8 bit recording not 10 bit . But that being said , 90% people use 8 bit diplays and codecs . So i do think Sony is better . did anyone have some xperience in this . I plan to get it , i need it to work possibly without a battery and i need it to be able to run 1080p 30fps for at least 2h. Anyone has any suggestions .
    I need it for zoom conference . Nit picking of image quality is not an issue , elegance and ease of use is the primary goal here .

    I could be wrong, but I assume you’re not using the R50 in this video… are you? Is the footage we’re seeing coming from a different camera?

    • @RexxReviews
      @RexxReviews  Рік тому +6

      It was filmed with the R50 and the 16mm 2.8. The only part that was not was the over the shoulder clip that showed me talking to the camera.

      @@RexxReviews Wow… I am genuinely shocked. Like mind blown at the quality 🤯 lol I for sure thought you shot all the talking head portions with a much more expensive camera. I think this video has sold me. I plan to use it as a dedicated webcam as it makes for such amazing quality live streams… I have the LUMIX S5ii for more serious stuff but this R50 is certainly no slouch!

      @@just_drums_please it’s leaps and bounds better than the M 50. It’s essentially using the same sensor is the R 10 but it still crazy how good it looks. Every video that I have filmed since my first R50 video has been done with that camera instead of my R5
      .
