Oh those BETA days were some hard times back then that's for sure.. I was just looking at my stats the other day and it's something like 22000 animals killed, that was the grind and stranger mission to stranger mission.. it definitely paid off but damn new players will never know the REAL struggle..

Yeah that's usually how it goes down with me. I'll gladly cancel deliveries to track down someone who started a fight.
This is sort of a grey area. I feel killing them until they rage quit is sort of becoming a griefer yourself. I usually shoot them if they shoot me but I don’t go overbearing, if they try to escape I let them. No use wasting bullets if they won’t bother me anymore
A griefer isn't someone who kills you or your friends. A griefer is someone who creates trouble at your expense while gaining profit. Respawning doesn't cost anything.

Yes I just completed 1000 hours in the game and I can say that griefers don’t upset me anymore. Sometimes I’m just doing nothing to see how they react.

There may be no bravery stat but some horses do calm much easier than others. This is what players are confusing with bravery. My rank 20 Norfolk roadster will let cougars walk between his legs. The trick is to quickly calm your horse before it gets to scared and don't spur the crap out of it like most people do.

Sorry but my Tiger Striped Mustang is the bravest horse in the game. He has wrestled bears, given hoof jobs to alligators, choked out cougars and kicked other players to death. Horse bravery is a thing 😂😂😂

A player tried to steal my horse he realized that this wasn’t his owner and literally dumped him off then cracked him in the chest then I walked up and turned him into a carpet
I'm a PC player at level 102 and just realized everyone else can use an auto aim. That's why they are able to shoot so well on horseback but suck so badly at basic shooting...🤦🏼♂️

I’m the semi serious role player. Me and my friends have set up our characters and now play the game while role playing on the fly. Usually just adjusting to things as they happen, but trying to explain away things that happen in a way that makes sense. It was cool. One time we got into a fight with a few people at van horn, and then the law came and started chasing a few other players to Annabelle and we followed as we were wanted as well and we joined 2 other posse’s totaling 5 people. They all died and we were the last ones left. We ran into the hills above, jumped off a cliff and camped out with wilderness camp until morning. I’ve got everything I’ll ever need in this game so this provides me a cool way for new content. R* made a beautiful map and gameplay mechanics for us and its up to us to create a story for it.
Originally this video was 10 types and the tenth one was the role player. But I’ve never met anyone doing it and I haven’t done it myself so I didn’t know what to say about it so I scrapped it from the script

I remember when I was a noob in RDO, I haven't even played RDR2 or RDR at the time. Those times were honestly the best.
Forgot the part in content creator where "no matter how long someone views their videos, they are still confused as to how they have so much money"
New player here. My grind everyday goes as follows: bounty hunting, bounty hunting, legendary bounty, bounty hunting, legendary animal, then buying all roles with the gold i have from playing 100 bounty missions. I started when I was lvl 16, and a week later now I'm lvl 33 and level 12 on the bounty hunter role.
I'm a non showdown, non DDOS, PvP greifing (when wronged), horse loving outfit buying, daily doing, grinding veteran...so I can relate to all of these. :)

a horse lover here. i've had all 10 slots filled up for as long as i can remember. i got bored and developed them to have their own backstory, name, and personality. i mainly say horse bravery exists for roleplay reasons, even though i know it doesn't. quarantine keeps me from seeing horses irl again, so i have to use this game. i can't wait to get back to real horses 🤣

I met the most annoying griefers yesterday, he went in defensive mode and aimed at me with an explosive bow, I shot him. He came back with his friend they were both in defensive mode and also drank some heal potions and used explosive ammo
As a Veteran after long weeks of grinding, fighting, messing around with my friends and such I stood at the Rhodes station a week ago and made up this quote
"He stood there where it all began, asking himself if it was all worth it, all the fun, thr money spent and wasted, the times R* scammed him out of mission payouts, the rage and the struggle but also the happiness and the victories throughout the years... I'm a mix between grinder, daily streaker and veteran. Still doing and loving daily streaks regardless of how much gold it makes me (which is very little after the very much justified daily nerf). I just enjoy picking them off.
I started by grinding stranger missions and playing ANY challenge that popped up. I started accumulating gold slowly, but then I figured out that I got get a FREE bounty license by linking my Twitch Prime account. Then it was off to the races to get enough to get OP4 then went to trader, collector, naturalist and finally moonshiner as I got gold. I was lucky to get collector, naturalist (I think) and moonshiner all at 5 gold discount during weekly discounts.
When John mentions the daily challenge freaks and you can't help but feel like a dinossaur... 🦕

im another type.. im a history fan and really mind my own buisness playing online enjoying my personal roleplay. turning every journey into an adventure by playing calm, and let the world actually interact with me. If you do that.. and just make a journey from strawberry to tumbleweed.. u face robbers, bears, cugars, sherriffs, crazy people.. actually everything you will find in a western movie. rdo makes you rush from a to be all over the map, to grind money and stuff.. but there is so much to do beside them roles. I really hope mexico would appear its like all i want to make my experience in that game complete

About the bravery thing, there is a difference in what spooks horses, it's just determined by bonding.

@@SlyJohn Well, yeah. I threw a stick of dynamite at my level 4 bonding thoroughbred and it didn't move, tossed a throwing knife at not bonded arabian, sucker booked it. Even past that, my war horse is just as much of a pussy as any other horse. i don't get why people think horses have drastically different spooking level, and even if they do, it's not different by much.

I grind delivering moonshine & trader goods to be immersive then bounty hunt just to buy more ammo collector is for clothing what I like is players actually don't attack me
I definitely was the daily challenge streak freak. When they reset, I was at 542 days....I still played daily for two more 28 day cycles before taking a couple days of lol. It is liberating and it’s not like I’ll ever run out of gold. I’ve got like 2340 gold bars. Yea, it sucks they reset streaks and then cut rewards in half but look how long we veteran players had to grind easy gold.
I had a 570 day streak sadly ended by RS. Built up 4200gb but have absolutely nothing to spend them on. Guess I’ve transitioned to a Veteran as I still like going around the world and enjoying it. Grind isn’t quite appealing anymore but it’s still the best looking game out there.

I would say I’m a mixture of the veteran,grinder, daily challenge freak and sometimes pvp but I prefer using free aim in pvp but when I’m not doing the series I just use auto aim.
You forgot about the completionist smh. The person that has to have max inventory items, all clothes, and all awards.
I used to be a grinder but I have almost every role maxed and stockpiled about 5 collctor sets and content is really slow so I dont see a need to grind anymore
I’ve never really related to the noob because I was kinda the trust fund baby. I had a friend that had all the roles that helped me get a lot of money and once I had bounty hunter and trader role I kinda just grinded on my own.
I feel like being a veteran on rdr2 means more than it does on gta I was playing gta since the first weeks it came out and I still play it here and there but I don’t recall meeting a lot of people and there was never ups or downs other then when I first started it was always just neutral and there was nobody unique on there, red dead was a whole different thing when I heard rdr2 got a multiplayer I instantly picked it up and have played it almost everyday since it’s came out I’ve met some of my best friends on this game I’ve Met some friends on this game who later died and I’ve met friends who I’ve just gone my separate ways with and none of them ever reminded me of the other as well as all the social encounters I think when I hit lvl 150 I started reminiscing on everything I’ve done more and now that I’m lvl 210 I just appreciate everything on this game and even when I get griefed me and my friend group can find a way to be dumbasses while getting griefed and laugh at ourselves. Honestly I’d be satisfied if I had to hang my hat up and call it quits for this game I bet I’ll still remember this game even in my late 30s when we have rdr5 😅 the game might be ass now but most veterans can’t bother with being negative since we all love it in our very own special way and most of us have been all these player types at one point.

I have noticed the horse seems to get a little braver as the bonding goes up. My horse still likes to buck my player off but now and than but now it seems to depend on the predator. If it is a cougar than yeah my horse is gonna dump me and run. A pack of wolves it will stand up too them mainly cause I have gotten a bit better at taking them out before they get too close. The bears and gators are iffy sometimes it's a dump sometimes the horse will actually listen and run faster as I spam the button repeating to myself over and over "Run don't dump, Run don't dump". But a snake pop up and there we go getting dumped again.
So what about players that just like to hunt and fish in the game are they in a category?
I have started collecting horses and becoming a crazy horse lady on the game out of boredom. All my roles are maxed, I am making more money than I know what to do with between my moonshine and trader roles and I figure I might as well collect and level horses. I can't have a stable of horses in real life might as well have one in red dead till they come out with some content that I can't finish in two days.

Great video as always John and I would like to say that I absolutely hate the pvp in this game.. it’s broken and that paint in black card shouldn’t be allowed in pvp.. it is so unfair on new players and on those who only jump on showdowns for daily challenges.. the tonics are unfair on pvp matches and I refuse to take them even if I die.. so I believe I am the grinder guy who plays everyday and still collect and trade non stop. I just wish rockstar could bring cool stuff to buy such as properties, different wagons and not livery.. big boat which you could sail around.. more guns and horses.. more stable spaces please.. thanks 🙏

I was goofing around with my friend tonight, we were just fist fighting and hogtying each other. Some random dick rode up and killed us both. We proceeded to kill him over and over until he parlayed with the both of us. Then he messaged us calling us losers. He was a 400+ and we are both just barely over 100 😂

So I have elements of the grinder, daily challenge thing, horse lover (I have an apaloosa and horse bravery absolutely does exist). I've been playing red dead games sInce RDR1 online on xbox 360, back in 2011/2012 so I guess I count as a veteran too.
My highest daily streak was 779, and I lost it due to a bug. Can't ever attain it or anything close to it ever again, but tbh it is nice not feeling like I have to do it anymore.

When I first started playing, me and my friend were playing and these two people kept on killing us over and over again so we left the server and joined a new one. The two idiot joined our second server and kept on killing us. Then they followed us into the third server and it was already 12:00 AM so we just got off

A Veteran Here, I Tend(ed) to play the game alot, quite alot of play hours, Honestly I Can Only Really Play Story mode as Online Has Just Gotten Boring, I Usually hop on online if there's some big update that's getting a bunch of attention or a new role, the game tends to let me down a lot on the online side but to all the vets that still play online all the time. I'm a solo content beater that been around since Beta . But lower lvl only play new content beat it and go on. Around 205 lvl
Horse Bravery is a chance, I wouldn't say it's a myth. My Kladbruder horse bucks me off at the first sight of predators. Same will the Cirollo I think it's called but he has a tendancy to not buck you off most of the time but he takes off running but the Norfolk Roadster I have wow, that horse has never bucked me off ever and will even hold her ground with wolves a cougars. When it comes to Grizzly the horse will move away and slow down but won't buck me off.
That's what me and my friends believe to, plus we think it also comes down to how you play while riding it.
Petting and calming down when slightly spooked? will probably help a little+ depending on how much you ride it.
The horses i ride less, they will leave me behind even if it's just a snake .
My mustang, breton (i'm probably spelling it wrong) and Cirollo are the three of my bravest horses, but the mustang is at the beast of the bunch, wolves are her only major problem.
Bears? almost never buck me off, might do it with legendary bears but she will mostly do that if run into something dumb like the legendary beaver or ram.
cougars are meh, will buck off fairly often but wolves..if I'm on the mustang and not one of the two others, I'll be food for the pixel wolves.
It's silly but this is a small part of what make the game fun for me.
It also helps having a horse that isn't scared of bears when you just want to dick around and bring them to friends/ other players.
I must be a veteran. I have at least 1200 hours in the game, I have completed all of the achievements and I have completed 550 out of 654 buckle awards.

im just new in rdo. pc. r26 now. i enjoy it actually, but i can really say, griefing in this game is a big thing. defensive mode will not really help. griefers still finds a way to ruin you. sneak shoot you. sometimes with incendiary or explosives shots. you get bounty in your head in town without even doing anything just because the ground you're standing in exploded from an unknown explosive shots and an npc witnessed that explosion. kinda stupid npc reaction. rs should fix that.

Been playing since launch i pre-ordered I waited the 8 long years for it to come out and it didn't let me down just the neglect with the developers of this beautiful great game.They just over look this game and still updated GTA so much more and its sad I still love this game so much and will never take it off my playstation Home.

I believe I’m number 9 😄, but I don’t feel the game is over bored, still enjoying the game but not as much as beginning tbh. I enjoy doing collecting and atm my goal is to get all sets full. I also enjoy doing daily challenges and role challenges. Showdown and free roam battles are also fun sometimes 😄. Making my UA-cam video and sharing my gameplay and moments is also fun thing to do. I guess overall Im enjoying playing the game 😊
