A good strategy is selling the goods when they are at 1 or 2 goods. You still get the same xp as selling 25 goods. If you set your camp at the bottom of gaptooth ridge then the sell missions will be between 15 and 80 seconds. I got to rank 10 within 90 minutes allowing me to get the large wagon.

@@schonwieder823 If you set up camp south at gaptooth ridge and have your base south/southwest of Tumbleweed, you will get shorter trade missions. Here is how that works:
1. Set your camp at gaptooth ridge and change online sessions until you have camp south/southwest of Tumbleweed. Normally it takes a couple of tries to get a good spot.
2. Do you first trade tutorial mission to set up the trade then only sell 1-2 units. As wrestlingsreveals mentions you'll get the same XP as with more units, meaning you save time. You will of course lose money this way, but that does not matter since you want to get to level 10 Trader as fast as possible to get the large wagon. A large wagon holds 100 units = more money.
3. Do not pay for the resupply missions when you notice them on the butcher table, because those will net you 500xp each time (which you will not get when you pay for resupply missions), so before level 10 in trader this will help you in leveling up faster.
If you want to buy supplies instead of doing a mission, you can quickly get the supplies by going to the main menu and choosing online/camp. When you load up again the supplies will be ready for use.
If your wagon gets griefed just go to menu, click online, click camp and load in. Your goods will be there, if not tell me ill delete this comment

I get grieved more often than not when I try long distance deliveries and more often than not it’s after I’ve already been riding for 10 minutes
If you turn in a 3* Whitetail Buck whole carcass, it will give you 10-12.5 materials depending on your trader role level.

Trader roll is totally worth it in my opinion took me a whole day to set up getting everything to the proper levels but worth it

@@brandonvasquez4070 level naturalist to level five by sedating animals and taking samples then selling them to Harriet should be easy because for this month it’s 3x xp took me 2 hours then you can do 3 legendary anime mission from Harriet until she’s on cool down for a day because she gets upset with you. You can turn in the pelts from those legendary animal missions to crips

@@cyprianszyszka7718 for gold bars fastest way I know is bounty Hunter roll but I would wait till 3x payout because you get 0.86+ gold nuggets per bounty over 12 min without 3x pay out you only get 0.36 max gold nuggets so you would have to do 3 bounties to receive 1.08 every 36 min without 3x payout for bounty Hunter roll. There is another BUT it cost 15 gold bars for that roll too! So you’d have to do stranger mission regular missions and grind out boringly to 15 gold bars sadly.

This is the best role for any starter and but lets not make it more complicated then it needs to be.
Always set up your camp in the Great Plains or in the Bayou. Always use the right weapon so you don't lose quality. Headshots only. If you don't want to risk losing quality with a missed headshot, lasso it, keep it lassoed until you're close, and you can just kill it with your knife, losing no quality. For me I just have press B. Easy as that.
Also, if you're on a horse and don't have a wagon (I hate the wagon) but already have a corpse on your horse, lasso the other dead corpse and drag it to your camp or to the butcher. Dragging it won't effect the quality. If it's a three star, it will stay a three star the entire journey, whilst being dragged. So while just on your horse, you can bring two full corpse wherever you want, no loss in quality.
Focus on bigger game, like deer, alligators, elks, etc... Three stars are best but of you run into lower quality, kill them anyway and skin them. The meat fetches a good price at the butcher.
You'd be amazed at how much cash you can bring in just with meat and byproducts alone, at the butcher.
Also, on the Great plains, the buffalo only have one spawn point and their meat sells good. Kill as many as you can, skin them, drop the pelts (or keep one if you want) and take that "ish" tonthe butcher. Three or four buffalo is like $20 bucks.

@@John_Marstonm she spawns at different locations everyday. Either check the map or search up collectable map rdr2 and the first link click on it. It should tell you where she is on that day

For starting deliveries though, it’s gaptooth ridge or western New Austin for that matter because while doing long distance deliveries you’ll be passing through the least populated areas of the map
I’m seriously done with this game after upgrading my wagon I have had like 5 posse members helping me each time trying to reach the destination but hackers are getting out of hand and keep targeting people doing missions idk what’s the point in trying anymore I might delete the game
You can play in solo sessions with help of a single txt file (if friends have the same file (with passw in it) you can play together)
First ever time doing a sell mission I get killed and it gets stolen….now gotta fill it up again….

I always get griefed during long distance trader sales.... like seriously almost every time. Only once was it nice people trying to help me on my run.

Short distance trades are better. I’ve been now posse jumped two long distance runs in a row. Go for the short distance especially at low levels and not lose out on 160 dollars.
That's terrible advice. If you get raided, simply go to menu, online, join a new session, and you'll lose nothing. You just have to start over.

When you first buy the trader role you have to steal a wagon what happens if you can’t complete it in the time
butcher table is still in camp. just do another wagon mission from cripps in your camp.
I would also recommend the elephant rifle cuz it decreases ur chance of dying and fast killing

Tumbleweed and surrounding areas always has a good amount of birds 😊
Did my first long distance run from St. Denis to McFarlane Ranch and got fffffffff error maybe like 500 yards away and lost all 25 goods.
Was it an ahole booting me to be mean? Maybe. Was it the game crashing for absolutely no reason, who knows? Either way I lost those precious first 25 goods and am now remaking them.

hi you dont need a cutscene, you have to go to cripps in your camp and a wilderness outfitters menu will pop up. open it and press equipment then you can buy the butchers table

I find it kind of hard to do the trader role cause I always get attacked by the guys trying to take my wagon. Is there any recommendations anyone has

For some reason i cant do supply refill missions or order supplies 99% of the time. Its almost alway blocked out as an option no matter how little or how much resources i have

Kill everything you see, skin and donate
because supplies are what cripps uses to convert the skins into goods. you only need to resupply that if it has been halted
Just turn down MTU settings enough and you get a solo lobby to do all the long distance deliveries you want with only NPCs to Worry about.
@@rougeHuntress I'm talking about trader missions. You can just quit the Game afterwards, change back and be with others again. But this trick really helped me out when I was frustrated by Griefers multiple times.
My tactic is to wait for when my internet is extra horrible so that way I lag too much for greifers or my friends to hit me.

I need advice. I was ambushed and robbed in-game during a delivery. I don't engage in player vs. player fights, so I quit after they killed my character twice, hoping to save my goods. But when I logged back in, my goods were at 0/100. How can I handle this better next time?😢

1 thing he got objectively wrong. If you're a solo player, NEVER do distant deliveries. I have tried countless times and every single one I've had a posse of 7 take it. So it's either local or will not happen

500 xp every time for your role. Once you max it out it's your choice to just order supplies

I did daily challenges and story missions until I could unlock Bounty Hunter first, then turned in Bounties (loot everybody for treasure maps) until I could afford the second Bounty Hunter and Trader ... although I probably should have waited and got Trader and Naturist instead.

Yes. Get the naturalist role to rank 5 so you can gain access to the legendary animal missions. After that get the trader role.

You’re unlucky. I started playing again after a few years, I still didn’t get killed by another player, I met at least 20-30 players. I did a run with 100 goods long distance, nobody attacked. Also was hunting, somebody had a mission and went past me, rode by and waved, and then continued, I was surprised

@@PrinzzMusicDK just use defensive mode and avoid the location they're at chances are you'll know where they are before they know where you are since hostile players are constantly visible on the map sometimes

Great guide, just one thing: In the beginning you say the role is passive but then you go on to list how the role is _not_ passive.
You _actively_ have to gather materials, you have to top-up on supplies, and you also have to _deliver_ the goods.
He’s saying it’s passive cause once you get the supplies you don’t have to do anything. It’s passive in a sense but not passive in that you don’t have to do anything just part of it is passive I guess
