  • Hello everyone. I wanted to share some quick tips in this new series of videos with you all. The best way to hydrate your voice is to start first thing in the morning. When I get up in the morning, I head to the kitchen and drink at least 2 liters of water. This keeps my organs running smoothly and in turn, my voice feels more lubricated, open and ready for action. Try this and I am sure you will soon see better results with your vocal exercises!

hate to disagree - but water intake does not "hydrate your organs". Water never enters the interior organs of your body. Contrary to popular myth - our bodies are not made up of mostly water - thats a common misunderstanding of the terminology - our bodies are made up of mostly fluids (electrolytes and blood). No one needs to drink that much water per day to stay hydrated - the studies are clear on this - UNLESS you are doing a lot of physical exertion in dry climates. The average person who lives, travels and works in climate controlled environments, simply doesn't dehydrate that quickly every day. This massive water intake myth goes back to the 1950s and I'm surprised people in the fitness and nutrition industry still perpetuate it. You will urinate away most of all that water intake because you're body doesn't need it. You body will tell you when it needs hydration - you feel thirsty. This is an evolutionary trait of humans.
The reason your trainer had you go on water intake was reduce overall calorie consumption. That will drop weight quickly - which it looks like you have done. Congrats.

6 liters was based on my former body weight which was around 220lbs. Now that I’m down to 178lbs, I’m drinking about 3-4 liters so the amount of water you drink should be based on your body weight.
Thanks for watching! Peace and happy singing 🕺🎶🎶🎶🎶

I just did your passagio warm up from a previous video of you and another man singing as I am introducing myself to tennor or operatic training at least to help me with my vocal issues in.rock and pop etc..I cannot believe how far my voice has come in 2 days. I didn't realise what real closure was and have tried singing an acdc song and my cords were closed and full. I wish I started this 10 years ago

Fereydoon Batmanghelidj, M.D., an internationally renowned researcher, author and advocate of the natural healing power of water, was born in Iran in 1931. He attended Fettes College in Scotland and was a graduate of St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School of London University (at the time the best medical school in the world), where he studied under Sir Alexander Fleming, who shared the Nobel Prize for the discovery of penicillin. When he completed his studies, he was picked up as one of the house doctors in St. Mary's Hospital Medical School. Dr. Batmanghelidj practiced medicine in the United Kingdom before returning to Iran where he played a key role in the development of hospitals and medical centers. He also helped establish sport projects for youth in Iran, including The Ice Palace in Tehran, the first ice skating and sports complex in the Middle East. Later he did 18 years of research into Unintentional Chronic Dehydration.
HOW DO YOU KNOW IF YOU’RE DEHYDRATED?
If you are thirsty, it means your cells are already dehydrated. A dry mouth should be regarded as the last outward sign of dehydration. That’s because thirst does not develop until body fluids are depleted well bellow levels required for optimal functioning.
Monitor your urine to make sure you are not dehydrated:
    - A hydrated body produces clear, colorless urine.
    - A somewhat dehydrated body produces yellow urine.
    - A severely dehydrated body produces orange or dark-colored urine.
The effects of even mild dehydration include decreased coordination, fatigue, dry skin, decreased urine output, dry mucous membranes in the mouth and nose, blood pressure changes and impairment of judgment.
HOW MUCH WATER DO YOU NEED TO DRINK?
To better determine how much water you need each day, divide your body weight in half. The answer is the approximate number of water ounces you should drink daily. You should drink half of your body weight in ounces. If you weight 200 pounds, you should drink 100 ounces water (3.13 quarts, 2.98 liters or about 10-12 cups of water a day). If you weigh closer to 100 pounds you will need only about 50 ounces of water or about four 12-ounce glasses daily.
Individuals who are physically active or live in hot climates may needs to drink more.
It is very important you balance your sodium intake with your water consumption. Take 1/4 teaspoon of salt per quart of water - every 4-5 glasses of water. Be sure to get sea salt. Table salt is not good because it’s refined and the good elements have been taken out. Sea salt contains the other sea minerals, 84 different minerals in trace quantities which are vital. The best is Celtic sea salt or Himalayan sea salt, both of which are readily available at any health food store.
CAN WE DRINK TOO MUCH WATER?
During intense exercise the kidneys cannot excrete excess water. The extra water moves into the cells, including brain cells. The result can be fatal. For that reason, athletes should estimate how much they should drink by weighing themselves before and after long training runs to see how much they lose, and thus how much water and salt they should replace.
The studies that found 13% of the runners tested drank too much water, resulting in abnormally low blood sodium levels. The low sodium levels made many of these people very sick, and close to the point of death. The importance lesson here is to balance your water intake with your sodium intake.
