The more I learn about Ren Fair, the more I get the feeling it's just a cosplay convention where people wear whatever they want as long as it's "old-timey" enough. 😂 Also, that costume ROCKS.
Lol not everyone goes “Old Timey”. I’ve seen some Storm Troopers, various MCU characters (including Dad Bod Thor), etc.. At least at the Texas Ren Faire. It is a lot of fun though. The camping aspect is NOT for everyone. The one and only time I camped out, it was SO windy and cold.

But the cosplay aspect is truly a delight to me - imagine fetishizing a time when workers had even less rights, women were even more screwed over and since it's medieval Europe we're emulating, there's significantly less black or brown people about and zero people of Asian heritage. Like... kinda just seems like an excuse to do historical patriarchal/monarchical/white supremacy LARPing if we don't include the fantasy element.

Wow the hat is amazing! I was already impressed with your choice of red felt, pleated linings, and little white spots. Then you added the mushrooms and little fern leaves and that makes everything so perfect!!!!!!
