    My favorite are the group of guys that come into the rental shop wearing jeans/sweatpants and sandals with cotton socks. They've never boarded before (probably never seen snow before either), not gonna take a lesson and no they don't have a change of clothes they're just gonna go out and send it.

      Ow those are the worst, and they sometimes try to act like know it all too. Like you offer them a helmet, it's either "I dunno should I?" Or "nah I'm ok, snow is soft."
      Best one I had was some European douche that tried to act like he was the best person on the hill that day because he skied in the alps once. He acted like a complete karen like when offered a helmet. Not even a hour later, his friends returned his skis as the dumbass decided he wanted to hit the biggest jump in the park and landed right on his head. I seen him a hour later while on lunch, he was walking around talking shit with bandages on his head like the old ww2 pictures of returning destroyed soldiers. Got the park rat kids to call him dumb Kurt (dunkirk), the prisoner of war that the Germans had their way with. Lol

    I've never rented as a beginner... first board was a flat Oz board from a local shop. Then I started renting once I got the hang of carving like 3 seasons ago to demo different boards before settling in on a preferred type. Rented a Salomon Ultimate Ride and fell in love with it. Now ive got a large quiver, but I'd still consider renting for trying out new boards even tho I've been well over 200 days in 6 seasons so far as a weekend warrior from Denver.

    I've been forced to rent twice. First time was my first time boarding. Second was impromptu boarding when out of town. Never planned on snowboarding in the middle of Minneapolis MN, but it happened... Rental board plus first time with a very fast old-school tow rope setup, equals Kookdom!

    Related top 5 idea: Top 5 Things to Know About Buying A Demo Board. Similar idea, but better selection of boards that don't suck and less abused.... usually. And that's the catch :) Half my quiver is used demos, some were only taken out by a couple people who didn't work at the shop or weren't other local buds. Some have minor damage that's superficial and end up being a steal. But here be dragons... plenty of dragons!

    I used to work in a rental shop in a small hill that did repairs aswell thanks to me. The worst was the other people working in that shop because not one person snowboarded or skied. These people would think waxing the rental equipment, ment you used shit rub on wax, which they only did at start of season. So on a slow day, I waxed every snowboard and ski but also used the fluoro wax the ski race team donated. Did it just to prove my point and me being 18 at the time, thought it was funny as fuck seeing little shit missile rental skiers flying at the speed of these racer dorks, was funny as fuck. Lol the manager of rental shop, HATED that I did that as ski hill gave her shit for not properly waxing, and the GM made a rule that I was incharge of all maintenance of equipment. Which they found out I was waxing for other people under the table, so instead of getting mad, they bought all kinds of cool new repair shit, then made it a "pro" shop.
    Moral of the story, dont go to rental shop if the people working there, don't even snowboard or ski. Lol

    The burton LTR line are shitty boards but they definitely aren’t terribly stiff. I’ve used one as a rock board I got for free and could get it to press decently, most of em are full rocker anyway. The bindings are terrible tho lol, think I broke 2 straps in half a day.

    Rentals at US resorts are so fucking expensive. Went to Mayrhofen in Austria a few years ago. People I was with needed rentals. I think they paid something like 120 euro for a week. The boards were solid too. I think one was a Rome Agent, not sure what the other one was.

    Avran I’m going to go ahead and add another HM. The second you get out of the rental shop, go directly to the tune shop and ask them to wax your board. Almost always the boards haven’t been waxed in over a week and have been ridden hard (as in destroyed) and the resort just can’t get around to maintaining all the equipment. This will take 20 minutes. You’ll also beat Buckhouse down the mountain no matter your skill level.

    • @AngrySnowboarder
      @AngrySnowboarder  3 роки тому +3

      Any real rental shop just runs the board across a belt waxer. It's like polishing a turd. The real issue is they have no structure in the base so they're just one giant suction cup.

He replied , i told him if he gets on that chair and goes up there hes going to f&(&king die ! hahahaha he also told him to go get some proper lessons.
