Thanks! Your step by step guide is very helpful! We have been looking at 2024 RAV4s and the salesperson did not have a clue about ``Connected Services.'' Only comment from the salesperson was they didn't use this tech. As you mentioned in your video: ``Why spend the money on the tech if you aren't sure how to use it.'' If we lived closer to your dealership, we'd buy from you.
I just found a few of your videos. Thank you for taking the time and effort to put these out. Great videos to help you get set up when you buy a new Toyota.
Is there a way to have two people (me and my wife for example) with access to remote start from the app, but also have have separate profiles for radio station presets and seat positions? I saw someone say the only way to share remote start was to log into the Toyota app with a single email/password but if you do that then you can only have one profile tied to the app.
Great videos Steve ..we purchased a used Toyota Crown on Friday and have tried to set up the CarPlay but we cannot get rid of the original owner of the vehicle and so we are having difficulties…we contacted Toyota brand engagement center and they told us to go and reset to factory ! but it won’t because it’s greyed out and they said they could not help …any idea what we do Steve?
Hi, Steven. Thanks for the video. Steven, we just purchased a 2025 Camry Hybrid XSE AWD in Red Deer, Alberta. My question is about CarPlay. I have a 2021 Tundra with wireless CarPlay via a dongle. When I receive a text or phone call while driving, the music automatically pauses or decreases in volume so I can speak or hear the text and respond. My Camry does not decrease the music when I receive a text or call, making it quite challenging to hear the text or speak on the phone. Is there something I am missing or a feature I have not turned on? I look forward to any assistance.
I bought a 2024 4runner TRD PRO and my multimedia screen is different than this video. I'm trying to dim the multimedia screen when headlights are on but don't see a Day/Night/Auto dim option in Menu, Display. Am I missing something or is it not an option? Thanks in advance!
We have not been able to connect to the apps on our 2018 camry since toyota discontinued the entune app. My local Toyota dealer does not know how to and could not help me. I will give this a try.
Steve, can the CarPlay be paired to individual SmartKeys. For example, If I'm the primary driver and the smarkey links my phone with CarPlay. If my spouse has a secondary profile, can CarPlay be programmed to her SmartKey, so if she opens/starts the car with her SmartKey it picks up her profile without having to manually switch profiles?
I have a 2022 Toyota 4Runner TRD pro. Bought it brand new a year ago and the radio stopped working. Nothing comes out of the speakers. You can see music is playing but no sound. It’s not the mute button, fuses are good, tried disconnecting the battery, holding the on/off button for 10 seconds and reset system. Do you have any videos on that?
We have a 2023 RAV4 Limited. I'm the primary driver, and my iPhone is the primary device for carplay. I'm a little hard of hearing and don't do phone well. My wife's iPhone is registered as the secondary device. In the setup, there's a place to use her device for phone use. I click that, and sometimes it works, but most times it says it's having a problem syncing. What do I need to do?
All I want is buttons to I can change radio stations when my husband is driving. Do not want podcasts or the maps on the screen all the time. Is there a way to do that?
I just heard a rumor that the Lexus update was starting. I am hoping they will see any issues with them then roll it out to the Tundras and other Toyotas.
I assume this video applies only to people with Toyota's made after 2021. I have been struggling with my 2020 prius prime after GPS scout went away. no one has any answers for how to get a GPS unless 1 has an apple phone. I would appreciate any words of wisdom on this unless I'm getting my prius prime 2020.
@@stevenwelchtoyota How are the music apps removed, I don't use them. Also, what I was searching is...we bought 2023 Corolla in Feb., the Bluetooth connected and worked great for calls and messaging. A few days ago, when I want to make a call or a message, system says, doesn't know what I want; doesn't understand, etc. I can make a call by saying the phone number, but not by name in my contacts. Why? So frustrating not being able to use that feature. I hate the car now 🤬. Sometimes, it will keep asking who do I want to message or call, after repeating the name, says can't understand and cancels request.
Still no resolution to when TWO people have driving privileges to the vehicle, and each with their own cell phones. Rumor is...Toyota didn't consider two different people (husband and wife) wanting to ADD VEHICLE to their phones. In our case and with friends, both have profiles and can make calls, but one of the people will never have App capabilities on their phone. The second person always has ADD VEHICLE. Was Toyota that "out of touch?" Do they need help or advice? Or is there a software update coming? After two years.

Want absolutely none of this on my 2023 4Runner or my 2024 Corolla. Absolute invasive garbage form Toyota. I have crash detection on my iPhone. I don't want driving info to my Insurer. I don't want Toyota reminding me about maintenance and if I'm late on it then voiding my warranty. I don't need Remote Start. Is using the app absolutely necessary to pair phone, use android auto, etc? Also, can the preinstalled apps that I will never use be removed?

There is an opt out but you lose the ability for Toyota to connect to the vehicle if you need them to. It will end up costing you money
