Reading & Sonning Railway Cutting (Reading) on 4th June 1992
Continuing with my archive of video recording between the years of 1986 to 2001 this clip is of Reading Station and then Sonning Cutting just before Reading on the Down direction taken on 04/06/1992. Reading station as seen from the new multi storey car park offered a good view to the Eastern approaches of the station. From the high bridge witnessing the passing of HSTs and freight plus the passenger services still in the hands of locomotives also the surviving DMU services to Paddington and the Henley Branch all made a very few interesting hours. I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Nice to see the Class 104 + Class 121 set at 8:27!
The Class 121 vehicle is a Driving Trailer, one of just 10 unpowered driving vehicles.
