Oh dude, I was just speaking at a convention in Houston and had no idea you were based there! Next time I am in town, I will have to look you up! Keep the 10-20w laser goodness coming!
Cut out a whiskey barrel end from walnut, engrave with "Pour Me Some Whiskey and Leave The Bottle" and in smaller font "Build Dad Build Distillery". Then of course put a finish on the project...
I will have one soon! I know how much time and energy it takes to make these videos (even on coffee and whiskey, lol), and I appreciate your work.
Make some scary Halloween stuff for the front yard
A whole ass table. Perhaps engraved with grids for tabletop gaming?
Leonardo Davinci's last supper painting, only suggesting because Id love to see if it could capture the detail and I think that it would be impressive. And thank you for all your videos they are both entertaining and informative.
Military plaques. Dedicated to retirements, promotions, dedicated service, veterans, etc.
Large display stands for craft shows would be cool to see made. Coffee table would be cool to see as well.
Have you ever cut letters & numbers from blue board insulation. These would be used for signs etc. they use 1 & 2 inch blue board. Also currently they use a hot wire and it’s done manually, using a laser you cut all the letters, numbers names emblems mucho faster.
Enjoy your vacation
very very nice Nick...so how about making us a huge iron man tile picture ????huh...
I would like to see a granite light post done with house numbers.
Lamp bases
Since you are in Houston, worlds biggest key chain. 😀
You’re close dude. I’m in Conroe.
Idea: a huge American flag or huge sport team flag
Wow! I have NO idea what I would do with something that large. It will be interesting to see what you come up with. I am good with live streams or videos. Live streams are a little more difficult to catch live though.
I have the SN1812 because I didn't have the room to put a larger one on the floor in my 12X16 shop. Hope to meet you at LaserCon in November.
Enjoy your holiday
Hey, didn’t know your in Houston. I’m pretty close. I just moved to Texas from Michigan. I’m a little bit out in the country. Houston is always crazy busy. What made you pick that laser out of others? I started with my XTool and have been researching co2 lasers cause I want to start a business and as I love my XTool, I just think it’s too slow to make a business out of it. I need something where I can create much faster. Livestreams would be cool too so people could ask questions along the way.
Agreed. I feel like the d1 is a “gateway laser” 🤣🤣
Ooo a slab of stone 😮
Can you use the cooling system to feed a condenser for purifying liquids like water. I understand these units have a simple water in/out with a sealed system and I'm tired of running hoses from my sink when I need to distill anything. I know this is off topic but I was hoping you could shed some light on the possibilities of replacing my process with a more efficient cooling system. I have seen these laser cooling system for a little over $100. Do you think I could run the laser cooler in a closed system, connected directly to the condenser? Great videos, very informative.
Discount amputations... half off what they charge in the hospital.
I didn't know you lived in Houston...I live just south of Houston.
Xtool customer service is the worst 🤦♂️
Full wrap around engraving on a wooden baseball bat or engraving of a wooden boat paddle would be cool to see.
Livestreams are very useful, because watching the steps of a project as it happens is helpful to a noob like me.
Yes usually it is but I am tired of all these INFULENCERS get huge deals on monster equipment that you and I will never be able to buy and then doing shows that justify them getting the tool for free or a hug discount. I have been a wood worker for years but only in a very basic DIY garage shop. I love what I and many others do and love to see some of the developers are demoing for us lowly poor Folks. Even the long time TV shows now think we all have just come in control of huge sums of money. I think some workers can afford this but they should have their own shows. I want to learn about techniques and new tools that we all can buy and use!
@@kretorCreative I feel your pain, brother! I've got no beef with anyone trying to make an honest buck, but I do feel like a lot of the big subscriber UA-camr laser guys (NOT BDB!) have become shills for certain companies (looking at you, XTool!). I'm actually starting to unsubscribe from channels that sound more like infomercials than actually giving good information for folks like me.
Must be a 10K machine easy! Also affiliate link doesn't work.
35k yea it will have to wait.
Rather than go for something big, which would just be easier with this, or going with something cut from a single sheet, I'd like to see what you can do for putting the most small parts, on a jig and see how fast you can produce and at what accuracy. Say a pencil jig that fills the whole rig. How many can you laser and at what kind of precision. Or maybe a dice jig. And then do all the math to show what kind of volume you have to do to pay for a rig like that to do the thing. And then of course, if you are truly a bad ass. Do a full comparison of same with the xtools and/or other lasers you have :).
Ap laser is the best full size in my opinion
Hey nick, thats a beast of a laser, would be cool to see you cut out a sword in multiple layers, like main part/blade and then all the detail pieces for it and engrave it. Like a combination of techniques. I think that would be pretty awesome.
I think k if I wS to do that it would be more fun to do it with regtools and by hand. Might not be so "perfect" but it would be more people oriented
@@kretorCreative you're probably right, i just did one buy hand recently and they are fun to make, i just thought it would be a cool project that could really show off what the laser could do
Sounds like your next giveaway. 🍀I know a guy that could use more lasers in his garage. 😉
I'm thinking more furniture/functional items versus decorative things. Like a mantel for a fireplace...
An engraved wavy flag or an American eagle.
With your d1, did you ever have an issue where it's lasering doubles, like it's ghosting your esign a 2nd outline around your first making it all 1 fat design, like it's thicker than it's supposed to be?
Before the latest firmware it wasn't doing this but updating, it is.. I'm confused.
I haven’t had that issue. If you have the latest firmware update it could be the file itself.
I need a new skull bumper for the Death Mobile…
Make something that is half wood and half metal and see if you can engrave it without having to stop
Do a dioroma house or something. One where you cut out pieces and they slot into others. I would be interested to see how it did compared to the xtool because of intricacies and accuracy needed
Lol, since my last idea wasn't it, how about cutting and engraving some skateboards? I found out my machine was not big enough by about six inches and the pass through doesn't do me any good due to the curves of the board. Would be cool to see it done, and I'm trying to answer a question for another youtube channel that makes boards.
Hi, can you try to cut a 1.2 inches oak board? 💪🏼
♥️♥️♥️
I need help please. I have Xtool d1 pro and I can’t get the laser head to stop skipping when I’m using it. I have cleaned it and tried adjusting the belt but nothing is working for me I’ve only had it for about a month so the belt shouldn’t be worn. I’m at a lose any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
That usually means you need to update your firmware and possibly your software
Thank you
Can this laser do "sub-surface" printing?
I don't know if I understand what you are asking...
@@BuildDadBuild engraving/printing an image inside a crystal type object. Here is a link i found on youtube: ua-cam.com/video/_wDRXUzfZAw/v-deo.html
*Welcome to the big boys Nick!* AP is one of the best Co2 lasers available! OH! BTW, "The xTool Killer" is in the shop! 24W of bug free diode heaven at 24000 mm/min... oh yeah!
Ap laser is expensive
Golden doodle?
Yup
@@BuildDadBuild we have one as well. Riker is his name.
I understand but I stick with the thing I have been telling all other show people. Most of us do not have or can aford these new type monster toys. We might like them and love what they can do but... If I make bird houses for friends I will never need your fancy new laser toy or a monster CNC machine either. I want to learn ways to do actual wood working. I used to love most all of what you did on your channel. But now I just ignore most of your stuff.
Most of us will never own any cnc or Lazer monster like this so will just unsubsribe
