Maybe you got a faulty kit... Just got mine and the rocker does zoom in Pro mode. Also you can set the "custom dial" to "shutter" which is actually shutter speed (which find more useful than EV... you can tweack exposure in post, but not a blurry image)
Great thing is, you can put a cheap filter on just to protect the lens... I find the dial would be more useful if when you use manual settings in pro mode, that you can use it to move the iso/shutter speed/apature/ev on screen dial once selected insteaf of having to use the screen touch dials... Seems less intuitive just assigning the dial to strictly do one setting. ..
I think what they mean in professional camera grip setting, is that if the function exist in that mode then it will work otherwise nothing will happen, like you can not use the zoom lever set on switch focal length in portrait mode but you can use it pretty much any other mode, so that function is not set in that mode by the manufacturer

The zoom in pro mode is just the same as in camera. You flick from one lens to another. It would be good if that was replicated by a double tap yes, but ultimately its doing the same. What i really want in pro mode is to be able to have 50mp and raw regardless of lens selection.

No, it's tailormade for the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Plus, the Magic 6 Pro doesn't have the software to operate the grip.
