That's like an raspberry camera project. It has no autofocus, no stabilisation and no point.
Your videos are so dynamic. Excellent cuts, eye-catching text, always well paced. Been watching you for years now, and to see your evolution is heartwarMIng (sorry).
The quality of the pictures and videos you got out of that phone and lens were amazing. I wish more companies take this up as a challenge to make better cameras for the phones while making it more affordable.
Yes I’m still dreaming.
@Dont Read Profile Picture No
No. Let's just shortly say the price for it is completely outrageous. If you are into photography one bit, you would realise that first off, the lens that it comes with is manual so no autofocus, the colour fringing and overall bokeh is not smooth, the sharpness is actually pretty bad, and it will be even worse if you miss focus. If you are willing to spend so much for camera quality. You are better off buying a normal phone with something like a sony a7c and a good lens. This will cost max of 4k and you get, a phone, superior photos and videos, and an actual full-frame sensor.
It's just a concept. Stop whining
And make not to buy extra lens but to built-in of the same
@@bruh-qi7ue I'm not a lens geek, so I'll take what you've said word for word, except the fact that the outrageous price is only because it is extremely rare.

True

Not to ruin your fun but I feel like phones are getting more and more saturated. 1000$ phones 300$ phones have same ui , storage etc
Hahaaa what new you are talking about? All they are doing everytime is just trying to mimic what camera does. Everything is just about camera nowadays. Who even cares. Why not just use regular camera instead.
What are you smoking? Customer experience has been the same for 5 years now. Nothing exciting at all, that's why sales are consistently declining.
It's worth remembering that Android originally started as an operating system for digital cameras, so to see it effectively come full circle to this concept is interesting!
Likely what the JVC everio line of camcorders ran, or actually, linux (mine once panicked and I saw text all over the display, which a battery pull solved). The canon and olympus cameras I have don't run android (they boot within seconds).
It hasnt come full circle because this is strictly a gimmick. Nobody is using this.

The photos out of that 12S Ultra looks really phenomenal and makes me feel like the days are closer when smartphone cameras are actually catching up to the professional camera!
I would say short of a few small issues, the images they got look like it came from a midrange professional camera, like a newer Rebel camera, or a mid-lower end Sony mirrorless. It's incredible that a prototype smartphone can take photos that look like they came out of a camera a professional would use.
@@tbuk8350 it will be so cool if they arranged a wireless flash support to that smartphone
@Broski Snowski the thing is: you will carry your phone anyways. So it's not compact camera vs phone but phone + lens vs phone + body + lens
Not actually pro cameras improving every year too
Physics will place a limit to this. Lenses cant go any smaller with big sensors.
This is a photographer's dream. An awesome all-round phone with the very expensive camera set up that can be detached. Xiaomi are on another level, just like Arun's creative content he continues to post.
What in the waffle? This is a photographer's nightmare. If you are into photography one bit, you would realise that first off, the lens that it comes with is manual so no autofocus, the colour fringing and overall bokeh is not smooth, the sharpness is actually pretty bad, and it will be even worse if you miss focus. If you are willing to spend so much for camera quality, you are better off buying a normal phone and then a normal mirrorless camera? If you want a film camera experience, well having it as a phone is nowhere near a "film camera experience".
Their ui is also on another level 🌚
This is absolutely not a photographers dream lol because a photographer worth their salt will just purchase a normal DSLR camera, and not a phone with a lens attached to it lol
The photographers dream is an actual camera, this is as stupid as it looks. For 43000 you can fill a few bags with proper photography gear, a preferred smartphone flagship and probably can equip an entire photo studio.

Phone cameras are great- largely due to the processing software. In your pocket, take a picture without too much thought then cloud storage and instant upload to social media are the USP of the camera phone. The more manafacturers move towards mirorless and DSLR teritory is self defeating in my opinion. 90% of my pictures are taken on my pixel phone but it cannot match the abillity of even a prosumer mirorless- for example the fuji x mount system have been using for the lat 5 years since moving from Sony full frame DSLR. I am not even talking about RAW shooting and post processing but just shooting JPEG. It really is is horses for courses.
Loved this! I'm awaiting a 13 Pro to be delivered. Hopefully RAW capture and post process will find the happy medium between quality and amount of hardware.

Stabilization is an issue also. As you showed up the video, it was way more jiggling than iPhone one. I think that sensor stabilization is harder to achieve on the bigger sensors since it needs extra space to mount up the motor stabilizers etc which can allocate more space.

It would be interesting to see this same video making the photos with a cheaper lenses. Actually, the Leica Summicon 35 mm 1.4 is considered one of the best lenses for professional photography out there. Anyway, amazing concept, willing to see if they let swap to another type of lenses!
They need to add a modular grip to make it more balanced. Also they can definitely make the lens smaller, there are pancake lenses for full frame cameras... so with a little bit more development this could be a winner
its 43 000 are you for real they need to make it 200
@@crazietech1984 43000 manufacture and design cost for a concept is cheap. The price for mass production it can't be 43000... and until they release some native lenses this is not apealing for average public. Manual focus is not for everyone.
most of those lenses aren't really that great though. I would hate for this crazy concept that could actually be pretty useful, to be developed into another mediocre solution.
The sensor is pretty much flush with the mount, so any type C lenses would work and are much smaller. Why go full frame lenses? That sensor is small, so MFT lenses are smaller.
@@MONEYMAN5811 I think the crux of the issue here is that Leica is a luxury brand. They won't make smaller lenses. Any Leica product is built like a tank. But if other lens brands like Sigma were interested, we could still get better optical quality and depth of field than what a mobile lens offers. The limiting factor for mobile photography is no longer sensor or processor, but just optics. That's what this concept is trying to show. I don't know whether someone will take a step further and make a feasible lens, but I was just pointing out that compromises are possible
Hope everything's good now Arun! Thanks for the top notch content you put out🔥🔥
Yeah, Heart warMIng. Finally, Let me subscribe. 😶 That was touching. Good to know you are better now. Im Xpectin Xiaomi 13 reviews. WOW this is actually quite awesome! As the niche of smartphone photography blossoms its great to see the market listen to what people are actually asking for. Now of course the argument of “why carry around something like this and not just a DSLR?” The novelty of having the best “camera already in your pocket” is still something thats one of the coolest ideas.
I personally use third party lenses from @Sandmarc to help be get what I need. I’d love to see someone like Nokia jump on this as their cameras have been some of the stables on smart phones for years. Of course Sony with the Xperia phone as well!!
Great video and thank you for posting! I’ll be eagerly awaiting to see what you post on this, and hope you recovered from the allergy!
This is an amazing concept and exactly what I'd be looking for. Imagine an affordable camera body that your phone can slot into, that contains its own full frame sensor, mirrorless, full size lenses, everything- using thunderbolt
That way, you can still snap your average photo with your phone, but when you want to take high quality photos, you can slot your phone into this whole camera body and lens setup and use the phone's proccessing or photonic engine and software right alongside the large sensor and large lens that makes no compromises. It also means you get the convenience of a user friendly UI and touch controls, as well as the proccessing power of modern phones
arun, you are the only youtuber that would make a new video right out of the emergency room… you are a legend and were all happy that youre ok

Point and shoots still have their place as the premium daily camera. Something like the fuji x100 line on the lower end or the leica q line on the high end still is incredible and no phone even gets close to them. I myself have had my leica Q since 2017 and my iphone 13 pro is no match. Full frame, Full lens is just superior
And no, nobody would buy a 3k+ leica lens just to stick it on a phone. They're made for m cameras, if that be film or digital is up to the user, but its a completely different thing.
I remember Sony doing something similar (except they used Bluetooth to connect the lens to the phone), it was the QX10. they were pretty good too if you could put up with the slight shutter lag. Xiaomi's doesn't look too bad, but I can imagine it's for those who few enthusiasts who wants to flex a little.
Ps, get well soon bro. Look after yourself

it would be incredible if xiaomi released this concept commercialy, with lots of different adapters. it would be so much cool to adapt old c-mount 16mm lenses (which is close to the one inch sensor size) to use with the phone cameras!
wow, I wonder if making an extendable lense built into a phone can help solve the issue if moving the lense a buit further away from a 1-2 inch sencor. like how most compact point and shoots do. that would be insane

Thank you for your dedication to technology and your subscribers! We appreciate you!
Current pro grade mirrorless cameras can be plugged to a smartphone and stream photos live to the studio, where an editor can do the touch up, watermark and push to a live album.
We do that for large social events so that the guests can view, download and share photos as the event unfold.
I'm sure there exist specialized external recorders that support streaming video over wifi.
Honestly a phone camera with interchangeable lenses isn't attractive anymore, Samsung had one such system.
If you just need to take few photos for social media, uploading to computer, editing and publishing is still the best workflow to take full advantage of the camera raw file.
If you have to shoot for hours, you want long lasting batteries, a comfortable camera body grip, accessories like a speed light or flash commander. Also, you'd usually have two cameras with different lenses.
Most working photographers/videographers don't really change camera bodies whenever a new one comes out. So one wouldn't really want to be stuck with a 4 year old camera phone is while one could just use a 4 yo camera with a brand new phone.
Also, Leica manual focus on a slab phone, yeek.
The focal distance problem will probably be solved by dual prism camera systems. There are already great working prototypes. (see glass imaging, a start up company that develops combined optics and ai) I think once there are still problems with cost and thickness.
Xiaomi never fails to disappoint. I wasn't expecting this at all!
So it disappoints you?

Super excieted to see this concept and incoming 13 Ultra
the battery backwards compatibility and camera are the absolute best things about this phone
its currently using Samsung S21 case and iPhone 12 or 13 screen guard
This concept existed way back, it's not something new, but the reason why no one ever went with it completely is simple (as you just said) - carrying something like that is pretty much like carrying a MILC (DSLRs are bigger and dying) - for example a Fuji with a prime lens - not to mention that it has a bigger sensor, better lens (cause this combo has poor optical resolution as seen from photos and lots of aberrations) and overall, in the end the most important thing - it takes better photos. Not to mention that this has bad ergonomics - after shooting few photos your hand would be in pain... Also, you have interchangeable batteries on a camera, you can't change a battery on a phone, you need to charge it. So - to sum it up again - reason why no one went with it is - MILC is pretty much the same size, has better ergonomics, makes better photos, is cheaper...
Talking about low light performance, would love to see the Leica M 50mm f/0.95 lens on this Xiaomi Concept phone. That lens can capture decent images/video, with just a candle as the light source.
better nikon nocturne
when comparing aperture you have to take into account the sensor size ... example a 50mm f1.8 on full frame is equivalent (similar) to a 33mm f1.2 on APS-C
Can't tell you how much this video made me smile. Would I buy a phone like this if it ever went to market (at an affordable price)? Yes, yes I would.

The photos look great! I really hope Xiaomi can make this happen in 13 Ultra or 14 Ultra. It almost feels like carrying a real camera and this is the point, so that we don’t need to carry the camera body because we will take the phone with us anyways.
absolutely correct...
Except actual cameras will always be better, just because they have full frame and medium format sensors
@@thomastewksbury39 it seems people didnt ever use a real camera, dslr, mirrorless and simply cant compare the quality between a phone and a camera

@@thomastewksbury39 but no one knows how to get a good photo with that, the smartphone does the hard work
Then you spend however much a flag line phone is currently for a good everyday phone with decent built-in cameras then if you know you're going somewhere you want lenses then you only need to buy new lenses and not have to carry a phone and a camera you don't know how to work
How is your audio so good on your videos? I keep looking for your lav mic or something to record your vocals, what are you using to make your vocals sound so great and no echo? Its incredible.
This could be easily achived by leaving a main camera on the phone with it's own lenses, and having the exposed sensor with a protecting case of some kind that can fit the phone and auto open when you add the lenses, thing is, if you can add any lenses you could buy a Wide angle, normal and a telephoto separatelly, or even a lens that can cover all this ranges like any normal camera, lenses are replaceable. So if you want to take a Quick shot, you have your main camera on the side, but if you are looking for a more a curate shot you can strap on the lenses on to the exposed sensor
2 days, two amazing videos, he is on 🔥🔥
LOVE the concept of this, especially because of the Leica integration. That said, wouldn’t make sense for the vast majority of people; and would have to come WAY down in price to be a viable alternative to carrying a point & shoot in addition to a phone.
