Flat horizontally you couldn't span 24 feet. BUT, in the movie they would have been traveling in a downwards parabola and so would have continued moving longer than you did on a "2-dimensional" plane.
@@AntonFomenko Anton you're talking about the matrix a movie where bending the rules of the matrix happens even right from the beginning we see Morpheus jumping like a hundred feet horizontally from one skyscraper to another are you going to test if a human can jump 50 feet upwards and a hundred feet forwards in a single bound
"He's Beginning to Believe..." I got so nervous you guys were going to hit each other on the head when you were diving towards each other full force! Looks like a recipe for a double concussion! Glad you didn't hurt yourselves. Great job saving Morpheus!!
A little surprised they didn't wear headgear with the focus on safety we usually see from these two. I've head bonked before, I'd rather wear a helmet haha.
Oh my lord, your videos are really the best right now! The "can we do this movie/videogame thing" is my current favourite concept! Like Ninja Mythbusters! Keep it up my man!
Just want to give a big thank you to the gym owners for letting Anton play afterhours to amuse us all. It's a real joy watching him try all this crazy stuff.
These video game and movie videos are so much more interesting than your grip strength ones. Can I suggest the jumping rope swing from Uncharted 4. You would have to throw a grapple mid air, hook it then swing land and let go
I think its worth mentioning that you guys did a static jump at eachother where in the movie Fishburne had that running start (i think you might have mentioned that, sorry if you did). If anything that would make it a 40/60 split on the distance instead of dead (sic) center of the gap that was shown in the movie. It would also account for that hard impact when they came together. I mean... its possible to do this real life but it doesn't seem likely without some injuries. Great breakdown on movie stunts yet again my dude! Stay awesome Anton!!!
Sean: I would jump to you... Me: He's beginning to believe. Sean: If we're doing it over water. Me: I Have Dreamed A Dream, But Now That Dream Is Gone From Me.
Well you could argue the film is set in a virtual reality so that's why they can jump 24 ft. No punchbags were harmed during the making of this video.😄
well, Morpheus was not attahed to a solid structure but a dusty pipe (and probably a bit more sturdily than necessary) and I believe the lights are motion activated. So it looked a lot more dramatic than the real forces at play would suggest.
@@AntonFomenko he replied to me 😭🫶🏻😅😅😅 yeahhh maybe not then but a different harness company it might help w the boxes from homedepot yk? 🫶🏻🤝🏼🙏🏼 keep up the work bruda love your content
Small detail: Neo and Morpheus are in the Matrix at this time and both unplugged. They can use the possible capabilities of human beings limited by the matrix. Carl Lewis and Mike Powell would have done the jump easily
Flying hug parkour. Somebody hit Toby and the Storror crew up and see how far they can take this lol. Never mind isn't this more of a Joe Scandrett move. lol
It was a very entertaining video. And it's great that you know Bruce Lee&Yipman&Jackie chan(rumble in the bronx) wooden dummy wingchun techniques As you always say, always watch good movies that will change your life forever🙏🐉🙏
BUT... in the context of the movie, this happened inside the matrix, not the real world! So real world physics and human limitations didnt apply to them.
The problem with the ground practice was having too little time to cover the distance before hitting ground. It required both jumping vertically and much more horizontal momentum, thus a harder impact/catch. Jumping from a height should be a bit easier, I think.
I think to remember that for the prince of Persia stunt you tried an analysis of where the cuts were and what the actual stunt performance was. That gave a nice additional level to the video.
Pretty stupid assumptions. Morpheus had a running start. Morpheus’ fall (and Neo’s) would continue forward, thus definitely meeting somewhere but lower than where they initially jumped from. And you’re forgetting this is Neo, who can fly, jump from buildings, dodge bullets inside the Matrix.
@@AntonFomenko aww no that’s surprising! 1:02 is not correct simulation. Morpheus was running toward the window, he wasn't standing still on the edge. Given that you almost caught each other, means such jump-n-catch is actually possible. Not sure about injuries though. That would be quite a hard smash
I feel like the jump was approached from 2 different angles. In the movie it is portrayed to be a life or death situation. While you seem to come from it of the approach “well it hurts so I don’t think it’s possible”
That top shot of the catch was awesome! And great job demonstrating the difficulties of trying it irl. The movies make so many things just look too easy. Which is a shame. It just becomes a race of dehumanizing the characters and action further and further from reality. Action heroes don't even register as human no more. No point comparing and contrasting ourselves with them because we all know it's just inhuman. But seeing the real stunts of folks like Anton really puts the stunts and amazing performers in perspective. Amazing to watch.👏
I had a fairly low speed car wreck in 2008 and broke a bunch of bones even though the airbags deployed and I had the seatbelt on. When I was home, we were watching "24" and there was a car crash scene and Jack gets out and runs away from a high speed car wreck... I was all doped up on painkillers and laughing at how unrealistic it was. I think it'd be great to have a movie that shows what will the consequences will be for real life hollywood action heroes, all the broken ankles from jumping roof to roof, car crashes that result in helicopter ride to the ER even when airbags deploy, etc... it could be done as a comedy, or maybe more serious action/drama.
I love the commitment to "Morpheus, no!"
