    hi i completed my cnc machine and used usb mach 3 boad. one of the major issues i having is that machine pauses for a second and resume again without any warning while running the g code sometimes it pauses an moves in a wrong direction. do you think that the original board with parallel port is better than a usb mac 3 board?

    • @GBWM_CNC
      @GBWM_CNC  6 днів тому

      Hi! You might have problems with EMI (ElectroMagnetic interference). VFD's generate such, which leads to such strange issues (had similar). Using shielded cables, grounding the cabinet, using ferromagnetic rings on cables, EMI filters are some of the ways to deal with that. Also - ethernet is much more prone to EMI (comparing to USB or parallel ports).

    Which pin does the Pulse+ & Dir + from drive go into this pin? There are many wrong diagrams regarding this board on the internet. Please reply

    • @GBWM_CNC
      @GBWM_CNC  6 місяців тому

      Could you explain? You mean from CNC controller to which pins in the driver? If so - it depends on the driver you have but usually those are described. If you mean the CNC controller then you can set it up as you want in your software.

    Hello. I have the same breakout board and connected the x axis the way you did to test. I setup Mach3 the same was as well, but I get an "External E Stop Requested" error and cant figure out why

    • @GBWM_CNC
      @GBWM_CNC  7 місяців тому

      Hmm, I had a similar issue. I think you have either to untick somewhere in pin settings the e-stop or attach an e-stop to the machine and make it work or make it work the opposite way. Something like that but I don't remember exactly what worked for me.

    • @Spaceman972
      @Spaceman972 7 місяців тому

      @GBWM_CNC Thank you for replying. I figured it out. For it to work properly, the parallel port, 5v power, AND USB has to be plugged into the board. I thought it was parallel port or the USB, but mine requires both.

      At this control box i messed up some colors because i didnt have enough wires at home 😅. But I was teached at school to use blue /red for GND and black for +24V when it comes to control circuits (low voltage), light blue for neutreal and brown, black, gray for L1, L2 and L3. And yellow-green for PE.

    Thanks for the content, I'm learning a lot, could you clear me a doubt regarding the 36v power supply output for the drivers, it only works with 36v? I'm looking for a similar board that has 12v and 36v but I don't think so, I'm from Brazil and the site that appears on the board doesn't send it here, what do you recommend me to use? Thank you and I love your channel!

    • @GBWM_CNC
      @GBWM_CNC  2 роки тому

      On stepper motors drivers there are usually the voltages written. Usually it is about let's say 12V to 52V but it really depends on the driver how much voltage it accepts. If you use voltage written on the driver you should be fine. For example one of these I used here was 9-42V rated. Also the higher the voltage the more rotation speed you can get.

    Driver dobiera się do mocy silnika?? Widzę tam inny zakres Amperów. Masz może wiedzę o doborze Silnika krokowego[closed loop] w stosunku do wagi, którą dźwiga? Potrzebuję zrobić ramę XZ. Na osi Z będzie chwytak do detali max.2kg. Myślę, żeby oś Z zrobić na wózku i listwie uzębionej na profilu alu. Czyli 2kg detal + chwytak + konstrukcja, może z 6-8kg.

    • @GBWM_CNC
      @GBWM_CNC  Рік тому

      Driver dobiera się do prądu znamionowego silnika oraz napięcia jakim będzie zasilany. A co do doboru silnika krokowego to zależy jaki jest sposób zamiany momentu obrotowego na siłę liniową np. jak jest śruba kulowa to inaczej będzie zależnie od skoku śruby. Większy skok - szybszy ruch, mniejszy skok - więcej siły. Z listwami zębatymi nie miałem dużo do czynienia ale na pewno będą wzory jakieś. 6-8 kg to niedużo ogólnie.
