Mercedes AMG. Tesla is great Straight line performance but looks dated these days and not a great place just to be in - feels super basic and poor quality

Anyone would be a fool to take Tesla over this luxury piece of refinement. Let's be honest the EQS has set standards in the luxury EV world that completely destroy Tesla. Their only competition is Porsche & Lucid.

But for such a price point the rear passengers must get features such as
Massage heated ventilated cooled power adjustment etc
Which are available in the s class
So in my opinion eqs is a downgrade from the traditional s class 🤷🏻
Plaid is for modern cuttin-edge technology and sleed. I doubt you can ever see this car from tesla's mirror xD
Model s plaid is like an electric supercar. The eqs is supposed to be a s class like luxury ev

I just started driving the same exact car since 1 week now, black eqs amg, same colour and options, same mags. It is AMAZING. A 6k pounds rocket. A real people stopper. Worth every penny.
I agree. I have a matte grey EQS AMG and it is a spectacular car, far superior to the Tesla in every way - and I drove a Tesla Model S for 3 years. The acceleration on the EQS AMG leaves Tesla in the dust. And I have no interest in driving with the oh so spartan interior of the Tesla. They have no clue about luxury and comfort. So it’s the Mercedes EQS AMG all the way.

@@IReahpZz I never specifically mentioned the Tesla Plaid and will admit that in that specific case, you may have an argument to make regarding acceleration. But the acceleration on the AMG EQS at least equals many other Tesla models. More importantly. Given that, and coupled with Tesla's crappy design and software, the AMG EQS is the better choice overall. Frankly, I have no interest in buying the fastest car when it feels like it has the comfort of a jail cell. And Tesla wouldn't know comfort and luxury if it bit Musk on the butt.
@@IReahpZz lets not forget that the EQS is a 6000 pounds, high luxury rocket, that goes from 0-60 in 3s. It does not need to warm up its battery, and it does not overheat either. It also has a 520km range when charged at 100%. At least mine does.
The EQS AMG is a heck of a car. Light years ahead of a Tesla. You need to go on a long ride to understand what I am saying.
@@karimkhalife4858 there nothing light years ahead about sub par performance with massive weight and no dynamics 💀 it’s outclassed don’t make a portly car . Lucid sapphire is massive compared to the amg and beats the plaid while weighing less and performance wise blows all of them out of the water. Eqs is easily the worst ev you can buy for 100k+ taycan slaughters this thing while not looking like an egg 😂 rs strong gt is the same story . The only thing this does Well is have the interior and price of a merc .everything else is far worse . If you love Mercedes I’m sure it’s a fit for you but it’s really behind in a lot of ways .

Park a tesla model s and a merc eqe or eqs side by side, and start looking at panel shapes. Near identical. The merc is also lower at the front, which you would not think until they are side by side

So the one-dimensional, poorly constructed party trick is the Tesla, the flawlessy built and engineered, masterful in all domains vehicle is the Benz. Got it. Though I knew that before I even watched it...
Exactly - it is easy to get caught up in acceleration when discussing EVs and I am guilty of that too if only when I get drawn into arguments with others. And if all you want is the fastest car off the mark, get the Plaid or possibly some other Tesla model. But if you want a solid, comfortable and luxurious car with superior software that also can match or come very close to some Teslas in performance, you have to get the Benz.
not really a fair comparison when the plaid has winter tires, also I have a plaid never does it take more than 15 mins tops, to get the car into "drag-step mode", in fact on average it takes 6 minutes.
It's better than the model s plaid and more comfortable

I had a plaid since jan 2021 and it let me down as far as build quality. Steering wheel peeling, rattling when driving. Had 33k miles on it and went through 5 rear tires because of the rear suspension issues. It was fast but i got over launch mode in a month. Infrastructure for tesla is great but with all the new teslas on the road, most supercharger stations cap out at lower charge rates. I sold it last week and get my EQS580 delivery today. Im hoping for a more luxurious and satisfying experience for sure
I wonder if one would have the same issues in a 23'/24' Plaid? But it doesn't matter if you're mind is SET on luxury, speed, comfort of a seat, function of this or that...etc, or whatever aspect you'll find the right justification to buy what you buy.

Yes, and for $40,000 less money the Kia EV6 GT is a much better deal..It's faster 0-60, does it in 3.1 seconds.
@@erickirshner2810 The difference lies in the comfort, quality and extras the cars have. EV6 GT is a really nice car, but in a totally different marked. Its not a luxury car at all.
@whatwhat3432523 explain to me what the Mercedes has that the EV6 GT doesn't? Heated seats? Heated steering wheel? High end stereo system? Sun roof? Leather seats? Ambient cabin lighting? Comfortable ride? Because the Kia has all of that. Youre paying for a badge on the hood.
Do that too many times in a Mercedes and you’re looking at a 10k bill.
Honestly, I'd have kept my 2020 MS LR if it didn't start falling apart at 15,000 miles. Before upgrading it spent an entire quarter of the year at the local Service Centre whose principal task these days is to come up with excuses as to why you can't have your car back. The EQS by comparison feels hewn from granite and while a lot of the technology is overkill, some of it you just expect in this price range (e.g. 360 camera). The Tesla will always be the prettier car and the original poster boy for EVs but good grief it's way past its prime.

I don't get what others find ugly about the EQS. I guess you have to be some sort of car afficionado or professional driver or something which I am not. I just know what looks and feels good to me. But I think the EQS looks great - and compared to a Tesla or the latest BMW i7, for example, the EQS looks downright majestic.
@@larryb4392 for me eqs looks terrible and I dont like when mbenz applying their questinable ev design languange to ice models. But maybe its just personal. 7 series look worse, way worse
@@eal_ppl At least we agree on the 7 series 🙂. But I do think that as far as what one thinks about overall car design, it is very much a personal issue as you said. I traded in a 2021 S580 for the 2023 AMG EQS and couldn't be happier. The 2021 was very glitchy tech-wise as I believe it was the first year for that design. The 2023 EQS really ironed out these quirks. And I said at the time that if I were to get an EV, it had to match or be very similar to the comfort and luxury of the S580 which my new AMG EQS is.

It's pretty embarrassing to see the digital speed cluster glitch while doing the 0-60 runs. Electricity is just not the answer and Mercedes should not be this cheaply made.

Tesla has one thing going for it, it's usually the quickest. But quality control, the interior, comfort, it's all crap.
Isn't Mercedes planning on getting rid of the EQS moniker? I would love to see a 0-60 times to reliability and reducing massive 5 year six figure depreciation 🎉.
