- How’s this for an AMG vs AMG line-up?!
We’ve got Mat in the most powerful petrol-powered AMG, the GT 63 S E-Performance 4 Door, and he’s going up against Yianni in the AMG EQS 53!
So let’s see how these two behemoths compare. Starting with the GT, it’s powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 coupled with an electric motor. They combine to produce 843hp and an incredible 1,400Nm! It’s pretty heavy, though, tipping the scales at 2,305kg. And it’s super expensive, with a new one costing at least £174,000!!
Then we have the EQS. It’s equipped with dual electric motors which combine to put down 761hp and 1,020Nm. Amazingly, it’s heavier than the GT, coming in at 2,580kg. But it is a bit cheaper, costing ‘only’ £161,000.
So what do we think - a clean sweep for petrol power? Or could the EQS snatch it? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!

Yanni never fails to crack me up... he is so passionate and takes a loss so personally regardless of the fact that it's not HE who lost the race, rather it is the slower car he was asked to drive.

We need a GT63s E-Performance vs M5 CS please
In a previous race M5cs did 10.9 in the wet whereas this did an 11. Negligible difference in the real world but the m5cs will still win could be a different story in the rolling race with almost double the torque in the Benz though. But what won't be a surprise is the heavy gt63s e performance losing the break test.
@@chamaldealwis9 depends on the conditions, you can see it’s wet in this race so the gt63 will likely be quicker in better conditions. I don’t know what conditions the m5 did the race in. But it’ll definitely be a decent race
@@chamaldealwis9Fastest ¼mile time that m5cs has ever done in carwow is 10.9 on a dry road. Matt got 10.6 with gt63se in the "test" video. Also gt63se can do ¼mile 10.5 so teah amg wins

@@jara.. yeah exactly in the test video where conditions and factors are ideal for the press launch of the vehicle, whether that be road surface, weather, tail wind, fueling and the vehicle being on pre release software, motortrend Actually did an article about how different test vehicles can perform to the production variant. Regardless tho it will be interesting to see the result side by side on this very track p.s my reference of 10.9 was in wet and greasy conditions not dry -ua-cam.com/video/7u6s-BELKSo/v-deo.html

Honestly with this car, it has absolutely no sound and you need to charge and fuel up making it unnecessaryly complicated. At that point I'd rather buy a faster electric car or a car that has actual sound like a McLaren or Ferrari.

I don't really have high hopes for the EQS53S, it has subpar performance compared to competition. Meanwhile, the AMG GT 63S is supercar quick in the straight line. This should be an easy win for the GT 63S.

Hello Matt. On wet tracks you can do one run on each side . Will adjust for one lane being a bit more dry then the other & make it more fair to both cars.

Why other drivers don't go the millisecond the hands BEGIN to drop is beyond me. That's how Mat gets EVERYONE, even pro drivers, off the line.
In the EQS you can also turn on a mode that makes it sound like an real v8 gasoline powered car is revving up.
