Tom, you're more than a modeler. Like a great writer, you're a master story teller using a different medium. The empathy you must have to go so deep into a build requires knowing your subject matter very well. Keep up the great work as I love the stories you tell.
You make a good point. A builder needs empathy with the subject. I keep a few projects on the go at once. If I feel jaded with a model, I put her aside, and do something else, because I'll never do her justice. Given a month or two the appetite returns and I can return to her with glee.

I don't care what others say, to me this is art in its purest form. It inspires, leaves you in awe and makes you wonder how it looks so simple yet is so hard.
The history of the Frankin Expedition is somewhat famous where I live (Canada). The HMS Terror is located off King William Island only 11 meters below sea level in Terror Bay. So far there have been over 400 artifacts recovered from both the Terror and the Erebus. The archaeology of the two sites is ongoing as weather (and money) permits. Tom is helping to bring this extraordinary story further into the public eye using his equally extraordinary artistry as a model builder combined with multimedia presentations. He knows that if you want to hold someone's attention while telling a story, or in this case also building something, make it move. Thank you Tom.
Simply spellbinding. The videos are a work of art in themselves, let alone the meticulous attention to detail within the modelling itself. Tom you are a genius.
Once again Tom you go the extra mile to give us an incredible model with more detail than we can comprehend .Simply stunning .And so entertaining to watch.Bravo
And just when I thought my jaw couldn't drop any lower from the amazement, boom, you cast your own boats!? Like damn! Can't wait to see the end product!
Never has 10mins gone by so quickly , stunning modelling skills combined with amazing filming techniques , make for an utterly mesmerising video - Bravo !
I will have to watch this a few times to compare it to what is in the kit during my build. The addition of 3D printed parts is interesting and noted as I also have an Anycubic Photon. Great video as always. Oh I fixed the boat deck as it was bugging me that I did it wrong in the first place.
Wow! Just wow. You certainly deserve a mic drop after this. Makes me a bit sad that my own modelling skills are not sufficient to even sweep your floor. Mastery in motion. Thanks Tom
Brilliant job! I wasn't really interested in wooden kits before since for me they do not have enough details but your creative use of 3d printing and detailing skill proves me wrong :)
That's another amazing model Tom, I particularly liked the construction of the masts using the drawings as a background. I'm looking forward to seeing the next video. Have a great Christmas and best wishes for the New Year from NZ.😉
Amazing… I question myself what a hard work all those shipyards workers had to pass through every time a majestic ship were launch to the ocean.. that moment of completion should had be felt beyond satisfaction.
Wondering if a) you accept commissions for builds and b) if so, do you create videos similar to this for your customers. Imagine the ability to not only enjoy the finished product on your mantelpiece but being able to watch its construction as well. Truly impressive, Sir.
I'm out of words, your work is simply fantastic in every sense. By the way, your "deadeye tool" looks like a wonderful little invention! I think I'll devise myself something just like that :)
As others have said, it is one thing to build such a beautiful model. It is another thing to be able to do the stop motion, it is an entirely different thing to be able to do both, simultaneously and it is something else to combine these and plan and direct it all to have this finished piece of art video!
@@TomGrigat ua-cam.com/video/OxyTZ3F7mkA/v-deo.html&ab_channel=ParksCanada They go inside the actual HMS Terror with a small remotely operated sub. It's incredibly well preserved. Most of the furniture is still there and there also are firearms, dishes, bottles... just where they were left.

Gott sei dank! Dear Tom, with so much Wahnsinn around, your video/film is a rare thing that makes and keeps the internet a good place to be. Thanks!

Oh, this is so amazing. Every thing, every detail, the whole concept. I'm in awe.
I'm pleased to hear
leave it to Tom, not satisfied with the kit provided cast long boat... he builds his own..! I would expect nothing less from Tom..magnificent
Thank you
I am thinking about that on my build!
Brilliant, Tom...! To think the crew dragged those small boats across the ice for hundreds of kilometers is stunning...
This brings me back to the series "The Terror". Your work is as enchanting as this series was spooky.
I try to incorporate the spirit of the series.

Tom, I have said it before, but today it struck me again, you are an absolute master of your craft Sir!
Thank you very much 😊

Modelling perfection in motion. If Tom were to sell his models, each would fetch thousands of dollars on the market.
Thank you - I sell some of them. I recently sold the "Romfell". It depends...
