Tom, I’ve watched most of your videos over the past year and I was convinced that you had reached the pinnacle of model making and video presentation. And now you’ve added miniature figures superbly fashioned and painted. I am hesitant to say it can’t get any better than this because I know that your creations will continue to amaze and awe us. 👍👍
As a young boy I had a neighbor who built plank on frame ship models and was fascinated by his dedication to detail. But this? This is other-worldly. How does one convey the complete construction of a ship model and never show his hand in the process? It's magic. This level of skill in modeling and video production is award worthy. Next he'll build two ships and show them in battle, and when the loser sinks to the bottom he'll have a video of the wreck being raised and restored. Who would be surprised? Certainly not I. It's hobby. It's imagination. It's history, It's nothing short of amazing. Thank you Tom. I look forward to your every project.
That story just gave me goosebumps! No point in commenting Tom's modeler and filming skills! The music is AMAZING also! Thank you for this video Tom!!!
You are an amazingly skilled artist and model maker. I don't think anyone else makes such amazing models and presents them in such an artistic and skilled way with high quality stop motion. Your work is the best. Thank you for enriching my day!!!
This is a great video. You are full of respect for the courageous explorer Franklin and express your feelings for them through the modeling of the HMS Terror. Thank you for the wonderful video.
I'm in complete awe of you. You are a master modeller and a brilliant cinematographer. In short, you are a true all round artist! Cheers from Patagonia!
Another great video Tom as usual, ( I also like the new look). It was quite a chilling story about the crew of this ship. "Terror", the ships name was very apt in this instance. It must have an awful time for them. But their memory will live on through the work of people like you. Keep up the good work and best wishes to you.
Great video. Useful notes. Lovely model. If only Tom had been responsible for canning the food, the expedition might have had a much happier conclusion.
Another masterpiece by TOM both the model and the video presentation. Thank you Tom it’s always my great pleasure to see your work and play on UA-cam. 👍
Not gonna lie, I love your videos, Tom - as soon as I see the notification I dive straight in!! This one was absolutely next level, and I’m hoping it won’t be the last of this style you do once each of your builds are completed!! Kudos to you, sir - can’t wait to see what you’ll do next. : )
Nice Boat, I was shocked when I found out & discovered that one of my Great relatives were part of the British Empire's Redcoats army of the royal navy along time ago before i was born 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧
Revealing a bit of my mindset (one of many reasons to spectate not participate): That the first two figures would have used up my patience never mind the skill in execution... And then the rest of the crew marched past!... THEN the ship started... Plank by plank, constructed it seems like the original with no compromises or shortcuts. And the dexterity expressed in the rigging... Sublime. The history was also a welcome bonus, very interesting. (And the fact it is videoed in stop motion like a ballet, makes the video as entertaining as the model)
One small historical note, the botulism is more likely to have been caught when the crew were hunting seals to supplement their rations, as botulism can't survive in the temperatures they were in (except for a type of botulism that can, in seal meat)
I like the short story bit. Nice touch. In today's world, few people care about yesterday and are more occupied with what tomorrow may bring. Keep up the good work. Oh and by the way, all of those sailors were murdered by a giant yeti like creature. Or at least that is what a TV show was about...
This is such an amazing video! The music, the way you did stop motion, beautiful diorama. You really inspire me to make one myself! Please do more of these wooden ship kits, would love to see you make one for The HMS Beagle from Occre! It's one of my favorites.
I first learned about Franklin watching a playthrough of the board game Expedition: Northwest Passage. What a story. They found these two wrecks quite recently, within the last ten years. Two mountains in Antarctica are named after these ships, Mt Erebus and Mt Terror.
I think Erebus and Terror also took part in the bombardment that Francis Scott Key wrote down the words to 'The Star Spangled Banner' during the 'War of 1812'.
Beautiful build, as always. There must be some way to get your ship in a movie where it's displayed while the actors do their thing. Too many times you see some model ship used as a prop that looks nowhere near as nice as yours.
After cleaning and before curing if you put the models with supports still attached into warm water the models should basically pull off effortlessly off of their supports. No snippers required!

Thanks for your kind words
The story of this ship is sad and dramatic. As always, video motion and soundtrack flawless!
I don't know which is better... the videos or the spectacular work you show in them. Congratulations and thanks for sharing.
I'm pleased to hear
A Master Craftsman practicing his craft. Epic build , Mr. G.👍
I give 11/10 for your model making skills and 12/10 for your video presentation. Tom, you're the Steven Spielberg and George Lucas of UA-cam!
Thanks a lot - too much honor though 😅
Incredible build, and the video was excellent..
Thank you
Thank you for your amazing skill AND your moving tribute!
You're welcome
And now he not only stop-motions the rigging, but he does the SANDING! Amazing.

I'm happy to hear you like my little experiments. Thanks for your kind words and ideas.
Superb summary of both the expedition and the build itself - as usual Tom
Thank you
Wow, such a great improvement with those "frozen figures" and my reaction spells ENVY. I would have loved having them onboard my Terror-model...
You can get them here: cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/admiral-captain-and-sailors-for-hms-terror
Incredible build! LOVE the history of the HMS Terror with the build!
An amazing model ship. The figures base and a set sails were a good choice, really beings it to life and shows the scale.
I'm pleased to hear 😊
Never ceases to amaze me.
I just realized how amazing it would have been to see your videos back when I was a little kid. You never disappoint with your content!
I'm pleased to hear 😊
Beautiful.
Beautiful work as always, and a lovely tribute to the crew and their sad fate.
Amazing story.... Wonderful Model... Good Job Tom... :-)))

You're welcome 😊
Hopefully archeologists will be able to discover more information as to what happened to the Franklin expedition.
Kudos on the model!
So fun to watch this one come together. Cant wait to see what you have cooking with the Lanc. That'll be one big bird at 1/32 scale.
This will be special...
so if this isn't art, then I'm in the wrong place here! Respect!!!
Thank you very much
