Tom, this is ridiculous production value. The model alone is an insane amount of intricate and terrific work, stop-motion adds a level, I cannot fathom. Fantastic. I bow to the amount of your modelling-mojo. :)
As an avid scale ship builder, I consider this to be well beyond next level. It’s one thing to rig a ship, complete with sails, it’s another thing to do it with stop motion. Very enjoyable. Gary
I have a new found respect for how they built these ships...not sure there would be a better way to understand them than to watch a master scale modeller at work. Thanks for another brilliant production, an absolute pleasure to watch this.
Wow. Absolutely getting chills watching this. The perfection of the model added to the insanity of building it while making a stop motion video is mind blowing. Thank you so much for making this Tom and I can’t wait to see what you come up with next!
Goodness! What a massive project. Very nice modelling. Excellent diorama base. I would imagine that you would be well equipped to count rigging blocks should you ever need to induce sleep, unless they are now the objects of nightmares.
That is a phenomenal piece of work Tom. I hope it is going to be displayed somewhere for people to enjoy both the history associated with HMS Terror, and your amazing workmanship
An amazing build. As someone with a long-time keen interest in the Franklin Expedition, (and modelling) it has been nothing but a pleasure to watch these videos. I have learned more about the design of the ships from watching you work than from all the books I have read! Added to this, as a modeller, I can say that your style of using stop motion to let the models 'build themselves' adds a magical visual element to the hobby, while at the same time removing the mystery of what's happening and allows the viewer to clearly see the process 'in action'. More please!
When you understand how these machines worked, then you realise how truly incredible they were. Many people don't realise that the higher masts could be taken down in stormy weather. Only by understanding the rigging can we truly see how incredible they were. Beautifully accurate rigging on this superb model
Looks fantastic! Some of those techniques to get all the rigging to be uniform and in the right spots was ingenious! Would have never thought to do those things.
In a UA-cam world where the successful business model is to churn out those videos quick and often, the time, effort and skill behind this one (these three) is breathtaking. That rope-work alone would give the average person an aneurysm, but to animate it too, slightly beggars belief. Are there awards for this kind of thing?
A Stunning tribute to a Horrendous story... The Craftsmanship is beyond comparison... Add to that the art of the filming and you have something Really Really Special... Wow that is a lot of Rigging..... Fantastic Tom.... :-)))
As a builder of scaled wooden ship models, I know how much work and time it takes. As a regular format video editor, I also know the amount of time and work, but if you add stop motion and everything else involved, it's UNBELIEVABLE. Congratulations Tom. Cesar
My word. You must have needed a little lie down after that cross rigging experience. I was tired watching it. Just fantastic and am absolute joy to have had the privilege to watch your work. Makes my day thank you.
Utterly astounding, I think I'd go cross eyed doing all that rigging never mind doing the stop motion on top of it. 😵 It truly deserves to be in a museum.
Amazing model! Love the display. Watching this brings home why growing hemp was so important at that point in history. It took around 300 acres of hemp to supply the cordage for an average ship of the line.
Incredible. When you post the bar so high it makes me wonder where you can possibly go from here. Your talents are the envy of any and all creative people who are fortunate enough to see your work. I'm really excited to discover your new masterpiece, thank you so much! And by the way, your 100 000 is tantalizingly close.... Superb!!
Tom, I've bee to the National Maritime Museum, and our local Maritime Museum where they have a number of Builders models of ships like the Curry Sark and your model would not look out of place in either of them , a wonderful example of beautiful traditional modelling combined with and modern techniques - speechless as always !
It's really incredible. As a person who has been modeling ships since childhood, I admire you and your work, Tom. I am respect from your few Russian viewers!
It should be noted you're teaching a master class in modeling for all to see. Just when I think you've done your best work, you go ahead and top what you did last. Always a pleasure to watch.
I have to say, I have been working on this model for two years. Your videos have been life savers, especially in the end game rigging. You saved me an immense amount of time researching the cables and rigging, as the directions aren't especially useful. That and you are an incredible artist. I bought the 3d printer crew from you. Thank you again!
I post Wooden model ship build videos every week and it takes me 20 or more posts to accomplish the same you post in one video. I love watching your content style and you have inspired me with maney ideas to inhance my video production. Thank you for all you do.
This is so great. Both rigging a sailing ship model and creating a (common) modelling video are already difficult tasks by themselves. Pulling both off in an aesthetic audio-visual art piece is just insane.
Amazing stuff, Tom. Not just professionally done by a professional, but professionally done by a professional at the summit of his art. Thanks for the video - just brilliant. Tom (me)
This is absolutely amazing! I have this Occre kit of the Terror and have watched all of their videos on constructing and rigging it. Tom, your videos have provided so much additional information that I’ve needed. Thank you! Brilliant videos from an instructional, as well as entertaining, point of view.
I had no idea it only took 30 minutes to build something like that!! Such detail! I thought maybe a few months to a year but you make it look so easy!! Seriously, Truly spectacular model, fascinating watching it get built. A museum piece for sure.
I think your rigging would be beyond the capabilities of 99% of most modelers and when you add in the stop motion process I'd up that to 99.9%. I may be underestimating this of course! Superb work Tom!
As some one who has just started watching the series - its amazing by the way - this build is like the ICE-cing on the cake! And what an amazing idea to create the ice field itself. 10/10 amazing craftmanship!
The techniques detail and beauty that you put into your models are inspiring and drive me to build my models with better detail and more advanced techniques following some of your own designs and what you have shown.
Beautiful work, Tom. Astonishing! Moving back to Scotland this year and then starting work on this model once the new house is sorted. In the meantime, I’ve been working on the Heller Superbe kit and bought some Caldercraft blocks and fittings to augment it. I’ve been scratching my head about how to achieve the alignment of the dead eyes so thank you for the guidance and the inspiration. Happy modelling.
Superbe travail sur les cordages, on comprend le temps si long entre chaque vidéo, construction et réalisation de la vidéo!! Bravo, c'est toujours un grand plaisir de voir votre travail
I've long run out of adjectives to fully describe your model making and stop frame animation, but it's like all the rigging on previous models was merely practice compared to this one. Just fantastic.
It's always pleasant to watch someone do his work good and thoroughly. But not a lot of people can present their job right. You definitely hit the spot here, My regards!
It's just a bit too shocking... incredible work. Every little detail and the manner in which those details were designed and built, are perfection. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Mr Tom, you are getting close to perfection. The process, and production quality is next level. Thank you for your content. Great music by your friend to set the mood. Best regards and much respect from Argentina.
Wow, cool video and wonderful result! I was impressed by the ship model, then you topped it with that pack ice diorama/stand. And personally, I think "Terror" is the perfect name for a ship with that many ratlines to tie!
I am speechless. This must be the best video I have ever seen on a wooden ship model built. Not to mention the flawless built itself . 🙌👏👏👏
I'm pleased to hear 😊
Your patience is just…. So high! Incredible work, it looks beyond spectacular! Keep it up!
Fantastic Tom, you've outdone yourself on this one. It is an absolute privilege to watch. I bow to you Sir!
Thank you

The masts and rigging are truly a lot of work! Not for the faint hearted.
Wow. Absolutely getting chills watching this. The perfection of the model added to the insanity of building it while making a stop motion video is mind blowing. Thank you so much for making this Tom and I can’t wait to see what you come up with next!

Wow...beyond my wildest expectation, - 10/10 just doesn't feel enough. Wonderful work. 👍🏻👏🏻🥇

What a breathtakingly beautiful model!!!
A living room piece for sure.
Thanks - unfortunately my girls don't see it that way. They don't like the diorama...
Looks fantastic!
Some of those techniques to get all the rigging to be uniform and in the right spots was ingenious! Would have never thought to do those things.

Phenomenal Tom. Thanks for sharing your talents with us. Can’t wait to see what you come up with next.

This whole HMS Terror series is so masterful and brilliant it is difficult to put into words. Your talents are truly jaw dropping, bravo!
Thank you very much

What a beautiful ship! Well beyond my abilities and patience. Love the stop motion effect as well.
Thank you

This is amazing, modeling on a much higher plane from the rest of us. Outstanding build and presentation!

Out Fracking Amazing , Tom ! I got tired just by watching your work. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

I never realised how complicated the rigging is on these ships, great stuff, thanks.
I hadn't released it before either... 😅
Tom, you did it again! A MASTER PIECE! The rigging is crazy. I like the jig for connecting the pullies, great idea. Please keep them yhe coming!

MAGNIFIQUE ET FABULEUX TOM !!!
This is beyond amazing. Thanks for sharing.
Your videos are works of art! Also love you picked such an iconic historical ship to build

The model does a good job showing the structural beefyness of the ship.
