Kurutogas system is for automatic sharpening. Del guard is for anti breakage. They have different main gimmicks, the anti breakage is just a bonus on the kurutoga.
Thanks for watching the vid! :D I tried to review them with a common theme in this case their mechanism's tendency to avoid lead breakage. But yeah I should have been more clear that the Kurutoga helps maintain a sharp point.
DelGuard for me. I write without putting much pressure on the pencil, using 2b lead. so for me I rarely activate the mechanism on either. Kuru Toga works best if you activate it. DelGuard is only there to back you up if you make a mistake.
As much as I recommend the Kuru Toga, the Delguard has more usage for me for two reasons: writing pressure and tip size. I primarily use 0.3 mm the Delguard's mechanism is directly made for prevention of lead breakage while the Kuru Toga's mechanism is indirectly made for lead breakage because the primary use for the Kuru Toga is for automatic sharpening.
I prefer the Uni Kuru Toga because I don’t like how the Delguard feels. I don’t like how I can feel the pencil move when it protects the lead. I find the springy feeling of the delguard to be much more noticeable then the Kuru Toga for me. And with the newer advance version of Kuru Toga, I can’t use any other pencils the same way. I think the delguard is a really cool pencil and I think it’s very clever design, but for me, it just isn’t working as well as I wish it would. So I will stick with the Kuru Toga. But this was a really good review. And I think you should try out the advance Kuru Toga if you haven’t already, it works much better and has less skips in rotating. It also comes in .3 and since it has a sliding sleeve, it works very well and I haven’t had any lead breakage. Continue making good videos! You’re doing great and it was very informative!
Maybe I am just a weird person, but I actually enjoy having a slanted edge on the lead somehow since I can write smoother with it that way. I usually use a very high grip, but tend to break 0,5 lead sometimes so I think I’m getting delguard.
Good review on both pencils! I recently got the Zebra Delguard and the suspension system really works. I have not tried any stress tests on it, but will eventually do something like it with continued use. I subscribed to your channel, FallyingHigh. (^_^)
Kuru Toga because I don't have problems when writing, the lead dosen't break which is good (Because some of my mech. pencils' led always breaks) And I really feel comfortable when writing. It's the best :D That's all
When you use Del guard, you can turn over the pencil by yourself to adjust the thickness though it's a little tiresome. But the other one is easy to snap like normal automatic pencil. And,I do not pay attention to the thickness 'cause I've already been used to using classical automatic pencil.
The rotating system works very well, if you're a victim of America's education for dummies system that we call school and print everything. If you have an education, however, and use cursive, it doesn't work as well, though a lot better than you seem to think. The makers assume you know how to hold a pencil, but if you can't even write in cursive, well, you probably don't know how to hold a pencil, either. If you can't write in cursive, it should be illegal to even own a Delguard. It's a complete waste of a good pen, which will probably break out of pure embarrassment.

Kuru toga actually better. The model this guy has isn't the best one.
how come people are so quick to draw conclusions from just watching a single video

I have the roulette and that spongy feeling is actually comfortable

Many thanks for the comparison.
Both two I bought! Can't choose any one! Both good!
That's great! They're both pretty awesome in the right circumstances. Hope you enjoy them 😊

Bill Menendez well, since it maintains a constant sharp point, it rarely snaps the lead.
i would use the kuru toga because its the only one i used
+ICY GAMING The Kuru toga was the only one had for a long time as well. It's a nice mechanical pencil at the time. 😀
Zebra delguard is the best
It is a pretty awesome mechanical pencil.
It's kinda hard to choose
Dellllgurad is da best
i want to be a pen engineer. what types of skills required for this aim ?

for sure...del guard will broke the leads when it falls😑
Yup not much protection for the lead in that sleeve although if the kuru toga's sleeve broke it's mechanism would be unusable :)
