    I need to say two things, one, I love these videos as they show various jobs and how you solve them in a manner that is not condescending but with sound skills and, two, you have a voice I could listen to all day!🤣 I subbed already🫡

    Great work! Regarding the guy complaining about you revealing too much. I know of a man that was trying to fix a boiler himself, looked-up fault code on the Internet, not knowing that a fault code could be ascribed to different fail parts. Instead of him changing a PCB, he ends up spending thrice by buying the wrong parts ( fan unit and Gas valve).
    In a nut shell, some nut people would always try to repair the boiler themselves.

    I find it easier if you just turn the dials down and then the PCB just slots straight in. You can normally see if its the PCB if that big 400v capacitor is bulging.

    I always say, unless you're familiar with any wiring when changing a boiler or anything for that matter then take a picture first, something to look back on if needs be, another interesting video, nice one 👍

    I had a eco tech where as soon as you put the tap temp past 50 degrees it would put the pre heat on changed pcb and was fine then started again after 3 days you ever saw this? Thinking could be a thermistor fault customer fine with it being as is but it’s a strange one! 🔧

  • @janoswimmer1042
    @janoswimmer1042 Рік тому +1

    Brilliant!
    I am very new I started to work as a smart meter engineer,
    Yesterday I went to a job because the customer was told, the gas meter was not giving gas, actually it was working fine.
    I couldn't fire up the boiler, I heard the fan working,and the gauge showed good water pressure, still quickly it went to E1 fault and stopped.
    ( potterton promax)
    Could it be a faulty exp vessel ?

    Sorry I don’t agree with your videos, you are showing DIY people how to solve problems with there boilers themselves and they’re dumb enough to do it… Being a gas Engineer myself for 20years. People will go on UA-cam instead of getting a Qualified,competent Gas Engineer.

    • @advancedboilertraining
      @advancedboilertraining  Рік тому +5

      Hi thanks for the comment. My videos are aimed at gas engineers only.
      There’s always going to be DIY’ers trying to fix their boiler themselves, whether I post my videos or not.
      There’s literally information in the boilers tec guides on how to replace parts and service boilers which those same customers have access to in their house. What’s stopping the DIY’ers reading that and doing the repairs themselves? If that’s who they are as a person, they would still try do it without my video. At least the DIY’ers might get the repair right if they watch my videos 🤣 (but yes you are right. Only gas engineers should work on boilers)

      Totally understand you Jag but engineers too would like hints and tips from other engineers, where do you draw the line. I'm very greatful he has shared his experiences with us, ive met some DIYers who have done an exemplary work showing up many a experienced trade, many DIYers want to know how things are done so they don't get ripped off, how or where else can they go, I believe DIYers should seek real world knowledge to acquire the skill set to identify issues and potential hazards, youtube is fantastic for this especially from this channel. We cant stop DIYers tackling jobs they shouldn't touch but so be it on their shoulders, they will invalidate any warranty they have or at the worst have their gas capped off. Their choice not yours or anyone else.

    • @normanboyes4983
      @normanboyes4983 Рік тому +1

      That is a flawed argument. If idiots choose to do work they are not competent to do they will do that with video or without them. Have you ever watched a Tv programme about brain surgery - ever felt like having a quick dig around your own grey matter?
