      Gerald Paul - 100%. In my early 20s I took apart an old .22 rifle that I inherited and it seemed simple enough.... soaked the parts in cleaner for a few days and then set them out to dry and prepare to reassemble but it seemed like the parts multiplied like little bunnies, so many tiny parts and difficulty finding diagrams online of this antique rifle..... ended up selling the stock, barrel, receiver and all of the parts in ziplock bags at a garage sale. Main lesson I learned..... detailed photos throughout the entire process will help you keep track of what goes where.

    An easy way to setup the valves is to
    Take the cam cover off first and align the timing marks together and than cylinder no 2 is ready to cut or be adjusted and when the timing marks are both on top cylinder no 1 is ready fastest way

    Awesome video. Simply gave me the confidence to tackle this myself. Just 2 questions. 1st when you put that small washer on the gear to measure with feeler guage where did you get the washer? What size was it? Seems like its an important washer if you need to maintain. 0009. 2nd do you use red locktite on everything? Or mix of blue and red? Would really appreciate any feedback!

      To be honest, we split the videos just to show people, we actually have the HP+ kit in ours which you can see in another video. I don't think it would be required as we ran the way in this video for quite a while without issue, but for longevity I think its a worthy upgrade after doing both.

    These the cams you suggest to work best with your headers and slip ons?

    • @TABPerformance
      @TABPerformance  2 місяці тому +1

      They are great cam options from a great company that we know to be reputable and good with standing behind their product. I can't say its the best though, as they all have strengths that make whichever cam you choose unique. The part we love about RS cams is the rideability of the 468. It is just a good useable power curve, not coming on too late or too early.

    Superb Video!
    Now a very important question to me, and of course all the others who cruise at low rpms
    What is the torque at 1800 rpm? Any measures done?
    From some charts, It looks like the 468 curve declines, even below stock torque at speeds below 2000 rpm??

    • @TABPerformance
      @TABPerformance  4 роки тому +3

      I don't have a chart at 1,800 and most charts drop off substantially at that point as they aren't really logging until higher in the RPM so when it starts to really fall off and get squirrely on the chart that is just noise and not anything that is actual. I can tell you from riding the bike pre and post install the 468 cam is not worse on torque at that stage of RPM.

    • @86Raxor
      @86Raxor 4 роки тому +1

      @@TABPerformance Great to read! But can you say its stronger around 1800 compared to stock.? Trying to figure put wether the cam will be Worthy an upgrade or not. Surely I ride up to 2400-2600 sometimes but mostly its city riding, hence bottom end torque favors.

    • @TABPerformance
      @TABPerformance  4 роки тому +2

      From the seat of the pants dyno, I do feel like it has more power all the way through. I don't have a chart for that, but it seems to pull stronger from the jump.

    • @TABPerformance
      @TABPerformance  2 роки тому +1

      It depends on motorwork, but bone stock other than exhaust it is not too much louder, but the note gets deeper. It is louder for sure, but until you put in aftermarket cams it doesn't get crazy loud on the M8s.

    • @TABPerformance
      @TABPerformance  2 роки тому +1

      I hear yah, that is always a tough decision for sure. I would say that a good torque cam and proper tune is going to void warranty anyway unless you stay with the Screaming Eagle stuff from H-D which being compliant will make it less effective. Still good product and if keeping warranty in tact is important then thats a good choice. If you think you might void warranty anyway by going to a full exhaust doing up front would allow you to get a better cam from jump and closer to what you are hoping to get from your bike. Just a little insight from what we've seen customers do, no right answer.

    • @TABPerformance
