I'm going to have call you out, I simply didn't learn anything from this product video except the twin cam and M8 heads are different (which I already know).. and you said cam and push rods might be all that is needed to install..but there seemed to be no references to any other popular cams, how or why it's as good or better
I'm kinda curious as to what kind of dyno numbers you are regularly seeing on a M8 with a SE Stage 3 build, FuelMoto 2-1-2 jackpot headers (or comparable) and 4.5" mufflers. Right now that's what I've got on a 18 Road Glide Special with the crappy Street Tuner and I'm running 115TQ and 109HP
Pretend you put a H-D 131ci kit on your bike a while ago. But now your warranty is up you decide to throw on a thunder max and you’re ready to rock; what cam would you put in it? Hypothetically of course.
Great explanation. So with a good flowing intake on the heads, does the current throttle body flow sufficient CFM's if one was to say work/port the exhaust only? Reason I ask is HD recommends the larger throttle body and injector with their CNC ported heads (stage 4) for the M8. Maybe porting just the exhaust only on the stock heads might yield some good gains?
Back in the 1990's? One of the performance companies, Zippers or F.R maybe, offered a 4 valve head. I don't think it lasted. Never heard anything about it.
Without a salesman answering. Anyone have any pros or cons to just swapping the cam vice swapping push tubes and all? I know the installation is simpler with replacing everything. What day any of you? Thanks!
More labor is involved with not swapping pushrods because you would have to remove the heads. You should also ALWAYS change cam bearings when performing a cam swap.
Slip on exhaust is about the only mod you don't need to tune... anything that opens flow is going to need tuned. Intake/high flow aircleaner. Cam, ported high flow heads, change of bore and stroke and of course free flowing exhaust... all need a tuner. Find one of those Facebook groups dedicated to modifications to the bike/motor you have. Just reading posts and comments you will pick up a lot of details.
So interesting about the intake vs exhaust valve flow numbers. Why do you think Harley did this? I'm sure they know these numbers and have a reason or it. Fuel Economy or Emissions maybe?
Jason Powell I don’t work for them but in general they recommend a D&D 2 into 1 pipe. Zippers sells them so contact them to get the right one for your bike .
My question is how does it perform with "competition" exhaust? There's a lot of bogus information out there regarding how the M8 behaves when the factory pipes are replaced with high flow pipes. Check my video where I replaced with Dan Moto (cloned twobrothers). Now that my warranty is expired it is time to replace that factory cam but I don't want to put the factory head pipes back on even with slip-ons installed...
sharkzf6 I have DD billet cat 2 I to 1 exhaust with a big sucker air intake with this cam. Dyno with power vision results in 106.8 HP and 120.68 TQ. 2017 roadglide.
I already have RCX 4.5 slip-ons installed. I plan to add the RC tormentor headpipes later but for now stay with stock. I really dont want to go the Thundermax route with just a stage 2. Would a map be available for the PV2 or would this be a question for the tuner manufacturer? Still learning and with videos such as yours, helps me greatly in making a sound decision I am comfortable living with. Thanks again
Two very different cylinder heads, so the cams really can not be compared. Similar gains can be had using the Red Shift 527's in a stock 103 TC engine though.
@@Zippersperformance Yeah, obviously BIG difference between 2 & 4 valve heads, but I was trying to find out what would be the closest equal to the 468 for me, thanks! Hi Steve, look on our web site page for the 468, there are several dyno charts posted for 107, 114 and 117" engines. It rocks! www.zippersperformance.com/red-shift-468-m8-cams.html
according to reports on forums, and my personal exp at dealers, harley will void your engine warranty if anything other than harleys EPA certified parts are installed, yes meaning air cleaners, slip ons, tuners, anything that changes the air flow into or out of the engine. According to their settlement with the EPA they must void warranties when any non epa certified parts are installed starting in 2017. Now, i have heard of dealers standing behind parts they installed for their customers, that werent harley brand, but my take is if they didnt sell and install the parts and tune the bike, your SOL.
Hey Zippers, My glide is at the shop having this cam installed right now with the DD Billet cat. I'm going to use the map I get from FP3 to tune it. How do u think that will be vs. a dyno tune?
Will a FP3 tuner work with this cam? I'm having the RS 468 installed end of February on my 17 RGS. Dealer recommended because I do not plan any other mods. I've read the PV2 is best..I do not plan to dyno...likely just can map for now. Thanks for the video

Yes, the RS468 cam will work for your 114. We also have the RS472 that is designed to be a Midrange to Top-end cam, but maintains Low-end torque.

I have the Harley se street tuner and the smart pro tuner on my 19 Road King Special. What kind of numbers can I get with the 468 cam? Also have aftermarket full exhaust.
I'm going to have call you out, I simply didn't learn anything from this product video except the twin cam and M8 heads are different (which I already know).. and you said cam and push rods might be all that is needed to install..but there seemed to be no references to any other popular cams, how or why it's as good or better
Would this cam benefit from work to the stock heads such as bigger valves and porting?
I need oil pump and cam plate with this cam and fuel programmer what do you guys recommend ????
What was the dyno numbers
Any reviews on the Redshift 552?
Is the 468 suitable for a 124cube or to small? Touring bike want torque from 2k
Is there one for the new fatbob107? Cam & pushrods? How much of a tq difference would it roughly make? I would also want to know the cost.
Wow I need this for my 17 m8 ultra
How will this cam work along with the Stage 4 Kit? Thanks
Also want to know if there is anything more suited to the 114 with CNC heads
I wish they would answer this lol I want to do the same thing to mine!!
I would like to know the answer to this question also
DITTO!
I think the cat took their tongue
whats the LSA of these 468's? is it turbo friendly or below 110 degrees?
I'm kinda curious as to what kind of dyno numbers you are regularly seeing on a M8 with a SE Stage 3 build, FuelMoto 2-1-2 jackpot headers (or comparable) and 4.5" mufflers. Right now that's what I've got on a 18 Road Glide Special with the crappy Street Tuner and I'm running 115TQ and 109HP
Would the 468 be good for the 103? If not which one would you guys put in a 103?
Pretend you put a H-D 131ci kit on your bike a while ago. But now your warranty is up you decide to throw on a thunder max and you’re ready to rock; what cam would you put in it? Hypothetically of course.
How about the MPG ?
Any numbers?
I have the 468 in my 2020 RGS SS 128 kit. I want to go bigger.. what the next best RS cam ?
Great explanation. So with a good flowing intake on the heads, does the current throttle body flow sufficient CFM's if one was to say work/port the exhaust only? Reason I ask is HD recommends the larger throttle body and injector with their CNC ported heads (stage 4) for the M8. Maybe porting just the exhaust only on the stock heads might yield some good gains?
Scott Placella why was Harley-Davidson not smart enough to figure this out
From what I hear , stock top end flows great !!
Will this cam work with a stage 3 114 with 11.0 pistons?
Will it make it run hotter? Will it be less reliable? Asking for a friend...
Will Redshift be offering any gear drive cams for the M8?
The Alpha Male good question. I don’t know for sure but I think so . Check their website or call them to know for sure.
Thank you!
Have you put the stage 4 heads on the flow bench?
Cam swap for twin cam recommend.?
Where can I order this !! For my 17 ultra m8 I need it I want it !!!
I’m going down tomorrow and gittn er sun!
468 with ported heads kibble white stock size valves and a tune with the cat out fat bob 114 139 hp and 135 tork what a animal runs to 6500 strong
Outstanding
On the 117 what are the numbers?
We have a few 117 with RS468 dynographs on our website.
www.zippersperformance.com/red-shift-468-m8-cams/
what about for the road glide cvo 2018
What do you recommend for the 2015 roadglide special 103???
Back in the 1990's? One of the performance companies, Zippers or F.R maybe, offered a 4 valve head. I don't think it lasted. Never heard anything about it.
Without a salesman answering. Anyone have any pros or cons to just swapping the cam vice swapping push tubes and all? I know the installation is simpler with replacing everything. What day any of you? Thanks!
More labor is involved with not swapping pushrods because you would have to remove the heads. You should also ALWAYS change cam bearings when performing a cam swap.
I'm sold putting this cam in 18 rg with dand d 2 to 1
RIGHT ON!
What is your best cam for ab2016 dyna low rider S with a 117 twin cam build? Thank you!
Depends on the cylinder head configuration. Give us a call and we can get you squared away
Do u have to run a tuner after u install that cam?
Absolutely.
Will you guys make a cam for the TS111?
what are the numbers at SAE 5 smoothing ?
So interesting about the intake vs exhaust valve flow numbers. Why do you think Harley did this? I'm sure they know these numbers and have a reason or it. Fuel Economy or Emissions maybe?
Probably because emissions of CO2...
Emissions and noise. No conspiracies.
simple...emissions..
What exhaust do you recommend for stock heads with this cam?
Jason Powell I don’t work for them but in general they recommend a D&D 2 into 1 pipe. Zippers sells them so contact them to get the right one for your bike .
Wanted to know if I could get the 468 cam for a demo I'm doing?
G14 G14 what kind of Demo are you doing?
Hey Ralph, we only have T-Max maps available at this time. I believe Fuel Moto has PV maps tho. Thanks for the nice comments!
@@Zippersperformance was this a thunder max auto tuner on this bike?
What would be the equivalent of this exact cam for a 103 TC?
Two very different cylinder heads, so the cams really can not be compared. Similar gains can be had using the Red Shift 527's in a stock 103 TC engine though.
@@Zippersperformance Yeah, obviously BIG difference between 2 & 4 valve heads, but I was trying to find out what would be the closest equal to the 468 for me, thanks! Mine is stock except for Pro Pipe and FP3 so the 527's it will be when I get to it. Can I get them in gear drive if my runout isn't too bad?
Can you put RS468 in a bone stock M8
They said in the video it was a stock M8.
Any dyno numbers on the 114 yet?
Hi Steve, look on our web site page for the 468, there are several dyno charts posted for 107, 114 and 117" engines. It rocks! www.zippersperformance.com/red-shift-468-m8-cams.html
Will this 468 cam effect the warranty on the motor?
Aharleyguy yes
according to reports on forums, and my personal exp at dealers, harley will void your engine warranty if anything other than harleys EPA certified parts are installed, yes meaning air cleaners, slip ons, tuners, anything that changes the air flow into or out of the engine.
According to their settlement with the EPA they must void warranties when any non epa certified parts are installed starting in 2017. Now, i have heard of dealers standing behind parts they installed for their customers, that werent harley brand, but my take is if they didnt sell and install the parts and tune the bike, your SOL.
on your website while answering questions, you have only 128, 131 or larger engine size, while mins is stock 114
what do you have for a road glide special with a stock 114
The RS468 works very well in a Stock 114.
Its a chain drive CAM ?
Yes
Hey Zippers, My glide is at the shop having this cam installed right now with the DD Billet cat. I'm going to use the map I get from FP3 to tune it. How do u think that will be vs. a dyno tune?
Buy a ThunderMax and be done with it. We can send you one with the map you need installed - bolt on and ride!
Zipper's Performance Products
8 hundred!! Dang. I'll have to run the FP3 till I save up for it. Thx
why don't your organization do metric bikes Kawasaki Vulcan vaquero is a very good platform?
would you have a cam for the 2018 M8 117
That's what I need.
Will a FP3 tuner work with this cam? I'm having the RS 468 installed end of February on my 17 RGS. Dealer recommended because I do not plan any other mods. I've read the PV2 is best..I do not plan to dyno...likely just can map for now. Thanks for the video
Ralph, what exhaust will you run? We are ThunderMax guys here, we have great maps for the 468 and ThunderMax. My understanding on the FP3 is to use a tablet when tuning with it as it give more access to tuning features than a phone does. Thanks for using the Mighty 468!
@SouthM1G I'm running the 468's with the FP3 , very impressed with the power gain. Exhaust is Rinehart 2 into 1, SE air filter. Truly a tire shredder.
Any dyno graphs yet?
SharkGlide17 107 hp 116 tq.
108HP with 119TQ
Mark Lantz did you install the came yourself? If so, what push rods did you use? Anything other than the cam and push rods need to be replaced?
Bran Chan no I did not. Pure Powersports did all work and custom tune. Jeremy is the Best!!!
