I’m from a country where jolof rice is not a staple food. So, I enjoy any version (as long as it is well prepared). I like this particular recipe; I’ll try it out soon.
Wow. Just looking at the preparation is exciting. Can’t wait to make this for my family. My Ghanaian neighbor made it once for me, so I can wait to try it myself. Greetings from Florida, USA.
Sometimes the ingredients are everything the dish is about. Keep it up Chef Wainaina. My heritage is (although white, -not really relevant, but...) from Africa, so I am a real convert, love the tastes and flavours, i just love the variety of dishes, I amongst others learn from lots of different culture: and we are all better for lol. 👍
Hello Chef Wainaina, I've been watching your videos and I love the recipes (though I haven't actually cooked any of them yet--except for soft paratha). Usually, I see a list of ingredients and measurements in the comments, but I don't find that here for jollof rice. There are a lot of ingredients for this recipe, and I can certainly go back to the video and extrapolate for notes, but if you have your recipes on a website or blog, I'd love to know. Thank you!
I eyeballed everything as far as measurements go. I wish you will update us with the exacts. But I made this tonight for the first time and it was great.

Will you please let me know what brand of rice you used? Thank you
I usually use basmati rice which is a long grain.
Chef, can you use that plantain to make matoke? I haven’t found green bananas in Seattle to make matoke. Any suggestions?
Well done sir but why did you add lemon to the plantain .
To keep them from oxidizing or turning brown
Am cooking
Yap lets cook.
Good dish! But jollof rice goes with fried ripe plantain, not unripe plantain.
Please show how to make fufu

Is hard to cook this kind of Rice with this Sticky Pot it need nonstick cooking port to make it easy.
Im new to this rice. I would only attempt this in a nonstick pan. Thanks.
