Indian Chefs will do a dish that has three times the ingredients as a Western dish, yet make a 14 minute video of it seem like five minutes. It's an absolute high-speed symphony.
I love very spicy foods, typically ask for "Thai spicy" or "Indian spicy" in restaurants, and yet their biryani was too much for me - tearing, sweating, coughing, red face for hours. 😅 But it's definitely an excellent restaurant, worth a visit when you're in NYC.
As he was making the biryani I was getting infuriated as it is not how biryani is made by my Pakistani mother, then the ending of him saying all the hate comments that will come up made me laugh at my own arrogance. Great video, I'd love to try that biryani ❤
Great recipe! I loved the enthusiasm throughout the video. Is the salt and oil in the dough used for sealing the handi meant to enhance flavor somehow 😅 since the dough isn't edible?
How is this quantity going to feed 4 people? Barely 2 people based on the amount of chicken. Also, this is not actual dhum biryani, but it looks yummy, though.
For butter chicken and chicken tikka masala, yes, you definitely have to marinate it. But with biryani, everything cooks so deeply and fully that a marinade would actually be counterproductive.
love the video and he is a great teacher but... putting the raw chicken into the curry pot bare handed then immediately grabbing the spoon to continue stirring hurts me.
This looks amazing. But I hate when I get a dish like this that would be easy to eat.... Except for the fact that the protein still has the bones in it making it a pain to eat. Ruins it for me.
@mindseye4914 Its probably ok to touch raw proteins and then reach for some salt, but not a cooking utensil that you'll be using for the duration of making a dish.
@@mindseye4914 Jaques Pepin is a long standing, well renowned, professional chef, you better believe he's going to wash his hands after handling raw chicken.
Oh boy. Terribly unsanitary! Using his hands after running it through his hair and across his face, no hair net or hat, with rings and bracelets on ... I could never eat his food. Compared to Gordon R's cleanliness and manicures, this dood's hygiene is sus:(. Hate throwing shade:(
He does a great job explaining why he does certain things like chopping the chilies lengthwise. Great teacher!
This guy talks faster than a inline skater on ice🎉
Love how he says “over here” 😂 what a guy and a brilliant chef
Oreier
Brother is charismatic as heck.
A Hindu teaching how to make biriyani lol! Of course white folks like it

Watching this before breakfast was a mistake.
Also at 11:30pm lol
What a wonderful video. The vibes are spectacular and the presentation and explanations were amazing. I’d watch and listen to this chef cook all day.
Check mate
If someone’s making me biryani, there would be no complaints about *how* they made it, _because they’re making me biryani_ 😂
Dude needs a cooking show asap. Great with the camera and communication and obviously elite food
No hate here Brother. That dish looks amazing and so delicious

How effortlessly he prepares the entire dish, making the process both entertaining and informative!
I love me some Indian food I took my on a surprise date to get her to try something different and now that's all she wants. Great video
Great video and explanation
Wow ! Looks amazing
Wow what a fantastic Biryani.
This Chef is superb in how he just glides effortlessly when making his dish.
Lovely person too.
Stevie in Scotland.
Delicious looking food, love how he goes into detail about the preparation. 👏🏼🤙🏼😎😊
Blooming saffron with ice water is the best way to get the most out
Chintan is doing dhamaka all over new york and the internet. Loved the idea how you did chena podo in an earlier video. Will try this biryani recipe.
Fun cooking...Excellent!!!
when eating briani, you always 2 portions, eat the 2nd portion the next day.
2??? If I make biriyani that's all I'm eating for the next 3 days. 😏
Wow nice I will go there when I get to NYC!!!
Yessss!! 😂
Ugh I need this

Biryani is considered as a mild dish in Hyderabad(Place where it was originated)
Add some garam masala to chicken as well
As he was making the biryani I was getting infuriated as it is not how biryani is made by my Pakistani mother, then the ending of him saying all the hate comments that will come up made me laugh at my own arrogance. Great video, I'd love to try that biryani ❤
Yummy... Using hand to eat biryani 👍
Amazing cook so charismatic
I’m Mexican I ❤ Indian food to
Fantastic recipe
I wish I had worked for more chefs like him
We add dried plums to our Pakistani biryani 😊
You seem to love ❤️ what you do-cooking and eating.
It sounds like a great recipe!
Thanks
What Chile Powder did they use here? and the indian yogurt?
Reshampatti chili powder and greek yogurt
Awesome food Chef
Where can i get similar dutch oven😊
They should’ve done it Indian streetfood way. You know those you see in reels/tiktok. It’s tastier.

Hey, at least I wasn't the only one who noticed...
What is it
@@mituljariwala5473Didn't wash hands after handling raw chicken
Hate messages …. 😂 you are awesome bro. Thank you
this guy rules
Chicken biryani is my absolute _favorite_ Eastern dish! ❤😊 Thank you, BA!
One of few times I wish Smell-o-vision were real. Fantastic.
My passion in life is to eat the best possible biryani in the world
You do not add heavy creme in biryani but other than that looks pretty decent.
what was the temperature of your oven when u were steaming the pot for 25 minutes?
The components inside are already cooked, 350-375 F should be fine.
How do I get that shirt and other UF swagg??
Can we use butter to replace ghee though? Ghee is getting kinda too pricy for me...
Ghee is clarified butter. You can make it yourself.
You can use butter (unsalted) too.
Make it.
Find an ALDI. Buy affordable butter and make your own ghee. Lots of recipes online.
once you start cooking dishes in ghee you will love the taste and dont want to go back to oil/butter
casually added about $60 worth of saffron...
Absolutely outrageous this is live after homeboy changed my life with his samosa tutorial. His recipes should come with security clearance.
I need mace, and curry for lunch!
Very nice 😊
*It's my fault for watching this while on my second night of my 6-day water fast*
I am biryani hunter! I believe i ll never find a satisfactory biryani…. Hope i ll visit ur place soon.
I’m hungry now 😢
Great recipe! I loved the enthusiasm throughout the video. Is the salt and oil in the dough used for sealing the handi meant to enhance flavor somehow 😅 since the dough isn't edible?
Mace has a story and onion slice is a cook tip and agrees to different versions of biryani
thats a real south asian chef when he doesnt measure anything 😂😂
Wow
where's all the glove police at?
Beautiful biryani! Abit too much ginger though.😊
I am just gonna add some salt to it😂😂😂
Not a single Hyderabadi in chat? The heresy. We'll give you "a dum biryani"
Rumour has it, he is still waiting for the bonus
Why can't a chef like this start the biryani version of chipotle and bring us all this great indian food.
I mean, saffron is only expensive per weight, not per use.
Dang gime some
I need an indian grandma to watch this video and react to see if it's legit
Ghee is life.
He is as authentic as the Biriyani he made. Never had a Biriyani with Jhol. That goes into my to do list.
Chicken biryani is second class. The western world needs more exposure to the real mughal style biryani that is either made with beef or goat/mutton.
"Curry" is an anglicised word but it does have an origin in India, particularly in Southern India if I'm not wrong.
Curry = a gravy not a spice. For example, you would say I will have lamb curry or vegetable curry or chicken curry.
@@BS-pd9hkcurries don’t need gravy in the south to be considered a curry
You can never be wrong
If you go to Gujarat and ask for curry you'll be surprised what you get.
Drink everytime he says "over here"
Just so you know, I spoke to Julian, and he's proud of his red hair, but he still doesn't like it when you call him "Ginger Julian".
If you want real biryani, you have to stop at Dum Fukt at the Grand Maratha hotel in Mumbai.
This was fun and this dish looks soooo amazing!! WOW! Mouth-watering. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Dhamaka's biryani is fantastic but nowhere near worth $72
Bro sounds like Max Verstappen

Bro, as much as we are against each other in the Cricket, Indian food is awesome!🇦🇺🦘🇦🇺🦘
우리나라 뚝배기가 왜 여기서 나와
what about the dough?
I'm surprised the chicken isn't marinated
you don't have to in most cases. specially if u are using clay pot dum method.
For butter chicken and chicken tikka masala, yes, you definitely have to marinate it. But with biryani, everything cooks so deeply and fully that a marinade would actually be counterproductive.
bro is funny
only butter haters you see will all be ghee lover once you taste it youre never going back.
How do Indians look healthy, a lot of butter and salt haha, but looks super yummy nonetheless
love the video and he is a great teacher but... putting the raw chicken into the curry pot bare handed then immediately grabbing the spoon to continue stirring hurts me.
Nice pr
Oh no not the hands
This guy😂 have everything on his hand except, cless skills,
Sir where are all the hats gone, on vacation😂
no way it is authentic dum biryani.
This looks amazing. But I hate when I get a dish like this that would be easy to eat.... Except for the fact that the protein still has the bones in it making it a pain to eat. Ruins it for me.
Why man's got two watches
Pakistani food has same biryani spicy yummy !!!
He needs the Lucas treatment
Making dum biryani with pre cooked rice and fully cooked meat. this is not how Hyderabadis like preparing their biryani.
Chef Vijay make delicious food
Ginger was too much...
puts raw chicken in pot with his hands and then proceeds to grab spoon and stir
Sigh! Don't ever watch Jaques Pepin then? Be miserable in your bubble and don't forget to wear your gloves and PPE while preparing a boiled egg.
@mindseye4914 I watch Jaques Pepin all the time, not once have I seen cross contamination.
