    I put my application in on a Friday morning and I had an email come to set up the phone interview literally 4 hours later. I did the phone interview and had a conditional offer on the following Monday. I went to Spring Valley Illinois on June 5th and passed onboarding there. I completed the last week of onboarding at my DC in Menomonie WI last week and heading out with my mentor in the morning. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome. I'm very happy to be a Walmart driver and I'm looking forward to the future at Walmart! Good luck to anyone who is applying or going to onboarding and I hope all goes well.

      Some locations have a high need for drivers and ypu can process quickly. Some like Searcy, southeast US and TX get 100s of applications and only need 10 drivers. That's where a referral of some kind matters.
      Congrats on you great placement!

    Hey Rich I truly want to thank you for your time spent on creating these videos. They have been so helpful and so insightful. I blindly went and applied to Walmart and was called back a week later and now I’m scheduled for onboarding the 30th of May in Spring Valley, IL. I wish I had known of your videos before I applied to use you as a reference, because you definitely deserve whatever they offer to guys as an incentive. I look forward to joining the Walmart family, and hope we cross paths one of these days, so I can thank you face to face. Stay safe friend.

    You have to chain out here in the west because the mountains have steep grades with ice and snow on them. There's no need to chain if you're on flat ground like out in indiana. Also our grocery DC is on one side of Donner pass and the majority of all the stores they service on the other side of Donner pass. If we didn't chain it would be a catastrophe for all those stores in California. They pay us $60 every time we put the chains on. All my old jobs didn't pay anything for chaining.

    I do believe they require you chain. But if you deem it unsafe you can shut down. But you must put chains on at minimum. They do have a mobile service I believe for Donner pass that will help you chain at chain up points on 80.

      @@HollyDJonez I will never say I'm more experienced then anyone. We will have different experiences and that molds us to who we are. I just passed my 1st year at Walmart and was fortunate enough to chain several times this winter. 🙃 It always seemed to be on or around my go home day. Whoo hoo!!! Good times. Especially when we got that big snow storm in November that dumped over 10feet of snow over one weekend. Being in Sacramento, we are sent everywhere because it's not a brick and mortar DC. It's more of a relay yard and tractor staging.

    • @WalmartRich

      I have only ever been denied a weekend pto day 1 time. They allow up to 10% of the drivers to be off on one day. So as long as your not trying to get a holiday weekend off.. you should be ok most of the time I would think.

    • @WalmartRich
      @WalmartRich  2 роки тому +1

      I think if that did happen there had to be some crazy circumstance. I have not heard of that happening.
      I was 3 hours from the depot once. Luckily I was in my home town and became ill. Went to the ER and Walmart sent someone to pick up my truck and get the trailer back to the DC. At holidays like Christmas or Thanksgiving they assist drivers to get home. If you scheduled they give you a route near your house so you can be home or they just give you the time off.
      I could go on, but Walmart has been completely accommodating at every turn. Im not saying it didn't happen, but if it did there must have been a mistake or reason.

    • @WalmartRich

      Im not 100% sure what you mean. Walmart advertised 87k a year starting pay. That just meant all driver made at a minimum 87k a year.
      I dont know what they advertise at the moment but I think the odds of making under 100k a year starting out must be very low. See my video where I show you my paycheck.

Then if they still have openings the look at apps that don't. I have several drivers that will tell you that I go to work for my people. Its alot of trucking jobs that pays alot more than walmart, especially being an O/O. Why go through basically what you learn in truck driving school years ago to get a walmart truckin job? Really, walmart isnt all that. I better clear at least $3000 a week if im going through all that testing again. Most companies its a quick road test and thats it. Be a owner op and make $200,000+ now forget walmart.

    • @WalmartRich
      @WalmartRich  2 роки тому +2

      Your talking over op vs company. Not many company job you make 110-150k a year and have all the benefits we have. If you cancer, need a knee or hip replacement etc. Is covered 100% through a center of excellence? Is the company giving you a 15% discount on stock purchases? Are you getting a 6% match on a Roth or 401k? Great insurance through blue cross and blue shield. Can you help you community or veterans with Walmart heart or Wreaths across America?
      When you find a company giving all that, I'm sure the list is VERY small.
      As an owner op you will not get any or most of that. By the time you buy all those benefits, what are you left with? Most are left with less than the salary of a Walmart driver.
      Let's not talk about all the headaches you have as an owner op, isuran e tags, FUEL, and know one wrong move could end you business.
      PLEASE!

      @@WalmartRich You got it all wrong, being an owner op you own your time. Walmart owns you, and can fire you whenever they please. As far as breakdowns and expenses its not a big deal when clearing $3000 plus every week, plus most o/o got $200,000+ in ppp loans to help with there business during the pandemic.And how much of that $110,000 to $150,000 do you keep driving for walmart after uncle sam has robbed you? O/O has alot of tax write offs including breakdowns and of course with 1099 you get all your money. Seems like walmart taking drivers through truck driver school all over again to get a job with them, please. There are local tanker jobs like speedway, that makes $100,000 a year with good benefits, plus you home everyday. And they dont take you thru truck driving school all over again to get the job. If its all that to you than more power to you. But It dont take all that to make $100,000 a year. That amount of strictness they probaly have cameras in the truck watching you. Its about freedom not money.

      I can only go off what I'm told or learn. If this is all true why do so many fuel haulers come to walmart. Why are owner ops o e of the biggest demographics that come to walmart? Owner ops constantly say the money is to hard to chase. The expenses and stress don't outweigh the possible pay difference. Walmart drivers start at 110k with 0 stress. Fuel haulers complain the job is outside in the elements. After the commute, the long day by the time they get home they barely have time to sleep and back at it. These are not my experiences, just what drivers say who come to walmart.
