HAHAHA first they're going to have to get actual gymnastic coaches, and start becoming gymnasts. Not just one guy on a video, but someone in every box who has actually gone through the training and achieved the skills without getting injured. That's going to require patience, good judgement, and a lot of methodical physical preparation... none of which are exactly the hallmarks of Crossfit as it currently exists. Not to mention a rings tower... or at least FIG compliant rings, which most boxes don't have (but some do). They're expensive and difficult to adjust compared to the fitness rings that we're all used to. Until Crossfit classes start emphasizing the boring but necessary work to develop good form over the exciting high-rep races against the clock, this kind of thing will just get people injured. The very mindset that typical crossfit breeds is often incapable of dealing with the tedium that every gymnast deals with when learning even basic skills like this. Maybe all that will happen one day, but it won't be this year. You can't teach these things if you haven't had direct experience, and people who came up in gymnastics as kids through to adulthood don't understand just how disadvantaged adults are when starting from scratch. Adults can learn, but it takes a different approach than what you see in the typical CF box. I hope that they get their shit together and make it happen, instead of just using guys like Durante as marketing material without making substantial changes to the program that ensure the average person can achieve true excellence.
@@slizzardman he didn’t say every casual CrossFitter should be doing back uprises, he said the Games should include them. There is a HUGE difference between CrossFit class and elite performance, just as there is between playing flag football with your buddies at the local park and the NFL.
That rep at the start of the video was insane!!! Didn't even know it was possible!
Great video, appreciate you guys!
really hope some stuff like this gets thrown out at the games
More of Dave Durante!
Appreciate the how to vids
I'm 6'4 330 and rings saved my life. When you remember how strong your hands can be.
best info iv seen regarding rings thanks man.
Damn that looks tough!
I feel like CrossFit Media is morally opposed to zooming out.
lol

What do you bet Chris will have this dialed in by Game time.
If castro tries to turn this movement into something for reps then I'm giving up on Crossfit.
The games should have more of this "skill" stuff
