Unhinged Woman Smashes Counter, Attacks Front Desk Clerk, Deputies & Guests

- On July 11th, 2023, deputies in Florida were dispatched to an EconoLodge motel following reports of a woman assaulting a front desk clerk. Upon arrival, the responding deputy located the suspect in the lobby, accusing motel staff of being on the most-wanted fugitive list. The deputy instructed the suspect to stay seated as witnesses explained what had happened. Witnesses told the deputy that the suspect had smashed the plexiglass and jumped the counter, assaulting the motel clerk and causing damage to the property. Despite initial compliance with the deputy’s instructions to remain seated during the investigation, the suspect abruptly attempted to leave the scene, leading to a physical altercation in which the suspect pushed and kicked the deputy.
A bystander assisted the deputy as he secured the suspect, who continued kicking and screaming while backup was called. The situation escalated when the suspect continued to resist arrest while being secured in the patrol vehicle. The deputy’s investigation revealed that the suspect had accused the motel clerk of being a fugitive, attacked him, and then assaulted another guest who attempted to intervene. The violent outburst was witnessed by several motel staff members and guests. While the clerk chose not to press charges, the second victim, a guest at the motel, decided to pursue charges of battery.
A background check of the suspect revealed she had been previously convicted of battery in 2020. The suspect was then transported to jail for further processing. The suspect was charged with Aggravated Battery of an LEO Firefighter, EMT, etc. Battery Felony 2nd or Subsequent Offense, Resist Officer with Violence - Assault, and Breach of Disorderly Conduct.

Full marks to the customer who stepped in to control this young woman, putting himself at risk. He continued to control her and try to get her to calm down. He deserves a medal. No matter how stressed you are, you DO NOT have the right to assault a person for simply doing their job.
He handled the situation like a boss! He kept her calm when he could, and safely restrained her when he couldn't
I was about to comment something similar! That man did everything he could to get her away from the employee, did a restraint hold until she has a little more control then he had her sit down in the corner, attempted to defuse the situation by talking calmly to her and telling her that he just wants to get to know her so he could help, and he recognized the signs that she was about to attack someone else and he took immediate action to keep others and her safe. Plus, when the cops showed up, he stood aside to let them do her job after he explained what happened. Every single cop could take a lesson or two from this man! Makes me wonder what he does for a living

Our population has only increased since most asylums were closed (for good reasons) back in the 80s, so the percentage of folks needing to be in them has only gone up too. But they should be reopened with an eye on the past to avoid the heinous mistakes made in their management back then.

People don’t press charges anymore because it isn’t worth it. They take the day off work, they go sit all day in court waiting for her case to be called, they go in and give their testimony, they lose a days pay, and she ends up with a slap on the wrist. It ends up costing the victim a heck of a lot more than it costs the perpetrator.
It's the same with uninsured drivers. Good luck collecting on damages. You're welcome to try though! lol
True. By the time they were evicted, I had renters owing me 4.5 months rent, in addition to destroying my house that took over 2 years to fix (during the flu thing). 3 pickup loads of just empty liquour bottles had to be removed from the house. These people were all on welfare yet somehow managing to drink and play at all the local casinos, as evidenced by all the casino-branded junk. Had I sued, I'd be out lawyer's fees and stood no chance of collecting on any judgement because these people were total losers. The most expensive thing they had were all their tattoos. At least I managed to kick them out on Christmas Eve while the woman was pregnant.

Then, to add insult to injury, they made them all legal! They had no business making them illegal, OR legal because both caused radical changes in society that people can't handle. All drugs (especially alcohol) will provably make people poorer, sicker, and stupider but by making their use a free choice it gives smarter people an advantage over al those other people who think it's "cool" to use drugs. I have no way of proving this but before prohibition of alcohol in the US, I'm pretty sure most people didn't think about alcohol too much but illegalising it gave it the allure of the forbidden fruit. Back in the 1800s you could go to any drug store and buy morphine for pain and while I'm sure you had people addicted to the stuff, I'm also pretty sure that the problem was nowhere nearly as bad as it is today.

She’s having delusions because she’s probably been up doing meth for several days. They have super human strength. They really believe the delusions in the moment. Once they come down and sleep for hours they are usually calm again but not always. Although it’s really rare sometimes you can damage the brain so badly from the drug you end up with something like paranoid schizophrenia. It’s really sad. Humans need sleep.
