John played a huge part in my life. I got married in 1974 and all the music was by John, much to the chagrin of the priest. We walked out of the church holding hands to “Leaving on a Jet Plane” we danced to “My Sweet Lady” My eldest son became an Eagle Scout as the song “The Eagle and the Hawk” played. My husband and I went to every concert he did in Rhode Island and we knew where to stand as his car drove out of the arena and John would always give us a thumbs up as though we were friends. My husband and I divorced in 1997, remain friends and both still love John. I moved to California in June of 1997 and just 4 months later John was killed in the plane crash on Monterrey. I was devastated. I still am. Now a tear comes to my eye whenever I hear his songs. Love you John!

Being from there on Rhode Island, I felt compelled to comment and say that even at a 56 years young, John has and always will likely be my all time favorite singer and song writer!!! I have so many favourites of John Denver's but one of the least heard is 'This Old Guitar' and I love that song and I don't know why but it certainly it's a favourite of mine
My mother loved John Denver. And while she was dying of lung cancer, I sat by her the entire time and picked her songs off of UA-cam to make her happy. I ended up playing "Grandma's Feather Bed" with John and the Muppets. After it was finished my mother laughed! Laughter was her last emotion as she passed away that next morning. So John Denver was spreading happiness and laughter even in 2012.
@@joedyer5486 Thank you for your kind words. Mom was diagnosed with lung cancer and 3 weeks later she was gone. She wanted to go home and be in her own bed. I understood so we took her home. I had a recliner put by her bedside and that is where I stayed for those 3 weeks. I didn't want to miss another moment of still being her daughter. It's been 8 1/2 years and I cry every day for her. She was the best mother anyone could ever ask for. I was holding on to her in her bed when she passed and my husband called hospice. I didn't let go of her until the funeral home came and got her. I miss her terribly.
I'm from West Virginia and no we never get tired of hearing Take Me Home Country Roads. To this day you can hear it at our fairs and festivals and at basketball and football games. We are so proud to have such a beautiful state song
This song is known to just about everyone around the world. I've been to many countries in Asia and even kids today know how to sing it even when their English weren't good enough to know all the lyrics. But they at least know how to sing the first 2 lines perfectly.
I think some of John's best songs were co written with Bill Danoff, Fat City, performing Afternoon Delight with Taffy Nivert. They even got a finger snap credit on one of John's albums. I saw them as an opening act for Lily Tomlin at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. John sang songs by Tom Paxton and John Prune too. Good times.
Kind of strange trivia..I know like rivers he sing about in song not even in WV..what else? Guess Cranberry Glades, New River, & lots others just didn't sound good in the finish product. Yes I from WV.
Actually the Shenandoah River runs through Harpers Ferry, WV, which is located in Jefferson County in our eastern panhandle. The Blue Ridge Mountains are also located in our eastern panhandle.
The number one thing that artists do is commit 100% to what they feel they should do, and hope trust that it will resonate with someone. What critics do not understand is that John Denver's music, like everyone who has ever created anything, is not for everyone; but it is for someone. And the amount of someone's is a very large group. Favorite song is from this list: Take Me Home Country Roads, I'm Sorry, Leaving On a Jet Plane, Annie's Song, Calypso, and the vastly underrated jewel Like a Sad Song.

Mr, Denver was next door neighbor to my grandparents in St. Peter, Minn. When they moved to Mesa, AZ, he would stop by and play songs for the seniors. I saw him 3 times when I was a child. He signed a photo for me that said Peace! Thank you for your music! Miss you!
i grew up in South Florida and have always loved the Ocean i’ve Surfed in it , Scuba dove over 250 logged dives in it Sailed and motored accross it and i’ve owned 17 or 18 boats in my life so far John Denver’s music holds a special place in my heart as to me there is nothing better than going as fast as the VesselIm in or operating with JohnDenver playing loudly on a good Audio System , sometimes people look at me weird in the beginning but usually they begin singing and enjoying some of the Classic Music John gave us almost always the people that were a part of that scene with ms from all types of backgrounds and Walks of life at the end of that Journey will say it was one of their best experiences ever i’m nearly 60 years old and i’ve been doing that for years
Most people have forgotten how big a star John Denver was. Hit movies hit t.v. show and great songs that are absolutely beautiful. He was a great artist with amazing talent. I relate to his music because everyday I thank God I'm country boy!!
Sunshine on my shoulders is what I sing to my Down Syndrome, 29 year old daughter everyday when she wakes up and I open her curtains to the sun shining. She absolutely loves this song. And believe me I don’t have a singing voice Lol, but she know knows all the words to this song. I have it on my car playlist that we listen to every day when we go out for our countries rides. His voice is breathtaking. 🥰❤️💕
Brilliant singer, songwriter and humanitarian. My favourite Denver song is Annie's Song. He loved his first wife incredibly even though he cheated on her. He said in an interview he was always so lonely without her when he went on tour that he just found women for company. Annie Martel admitted herself that if she had gone on tour with John as he had pleaded for her to do he would never have been unfaithful. His music will live forever.
Whenever I hear "Sunshine on my shoulders", I actually feel bathed in sunlight. It's such an amazingly powerful, beautiful yet simple song. That British critic who panned the song at John Denver's death was probably dropped as a baby.
They played “Sunshine on My Shoulders” on endless repeat at the dock at my summer camp. You’d think I’d be sick of it. Instead, his albums were the first ones I ever bought, and played till they nearly fell apart. Decades later, the very first karaoke song I ever performed was “Take Me Home, Country Roads.” He was a legend, and instill play his music now, on UA-cam!

Still love his music to this day . The beautiful Annie’s song , my own personal favourite. Country roads is still in my eyes a classic . A very sad loss , when he was taken from us .
John Denver seen him at the Fox theater in Detroit he got standing ovations for almost every song ?We thought it was a dud ticket and lo and behold it’s the best entertainer I have ever heard play it was incredible and his smile so much.We went out feeling very joyful can’t tell you about other entertainers we had seen at the Fox they had big ticket names Even come close to to his sweet voice. He was an environmentalist before it was popular and he’s right I’m sure he’s flying with the angels
Looking For Space is my favorite, although I have to say that there are so many of his that I love. Rocky Mountain High is a religious experience, as is Fly Away. Calypso is majestic. I'm Sorry and Goodbye Again never fail to make me cry. I lived in West Virginia when Country Roads came out so that throws me back to second grade. Annie's Song is universally appealing and something every woman wishes a man would write about her. Like A Sad Song is one everyone can relate to at sometime in their life. There are just so many good ones from him!
When I was working in Aspen in 1982, I went to local restaurant, Eastern Winds I seem to recall, to see the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band perform. John Denver was in the audience which I thought was awesome. Then he was invited up to play some songs and as our group had a front table, I was sitting about 5 - 10 meters away. I’ll remember that night till the day I die.
Lucky to see the Dirt Band at the Ice House in Pasedena. Good harmonies and great musicians. Good sense of humor too, they had a group sex symbol. Steve Martin and John McEuen were friends. The Nifty Grittier provider music and backing vocals on King Tut.
I heard this song for the first time in 1970 at a bar called Rafters in Sheperdstown WV a college town. I was drinking underage with a loaned drivers license dozens of us sitting at a table with icy cold pitchers of beer. We were so proud, amazing night thanks for the memory John!
I miss him so much. What a blessing his songs were. I use to drive through New Mexiko and Arizona at that time, buying Indian Arts and Jewelry for my business. Still thinking of driving through the desert, deep blue skies and listening to his songs.
I met John during one of his UK tours. I'm not sure of the year but around 1990. I was working as the director of a national HIV/AIDS training centre. I did go to a concert but one of my staff was part of the Hunger Project and I was invited to chat with him in their house. We didn't discuss music. We spoke of world hunger, AIDS, climate change and clean water projects. Of course, as someone who had heard his music and seen him on UK TV, I was delighted to meet him but it was his fierce but caring concern about these issues that impressed me when speaking with the man.
Rocky Mountain High introduced me to the great John Denver. The devastation of losing him too soon still hurts today. I went to at least 6 of his concerts and loved every one. I loved to see him act in movies and shows, loved his music and loved him the most. He is sorely missed on this planet. We sure could use him right now fighting for our delicate environment.
I remember buying the album Rymes and Reason album in the 70’s and playing it over and over when I was training to become a nurse and living in the nursing home accommodation away from home. Happy memories.

I actually love every one of his songs everyone has a special meaning but the song that really stands out for me that I find myself listening to several times a week is my sweet lady and I sang that to my wife at our wedding crying whole time and so was she
How dare anyone, in any genre of music criticize John's music. They must have been terribly jealous of him to be so mean spirited toward such a gifted musician. Just like those the black community who criticized & booed & boycotted Whitney Houston for being "too white!" Both these artists music will stand the test of time, may they rest in peace.
John was in Morgantown, West Virginia to open the new WVU football stadium which was practically in our back yard. My mother was visiting and she heard him singing Country Roads from our house. Wish I would have been there to hear him! RIP John❤
@@christinefortner7725 Christine, poignant is a perfect word to describe that song and his beautiful voice, which is timeless. I wouldn't want to listen to anyone else singing it. I had a situation where my daughter was missing for some time, and the the lyrics in that song "more than anything else, I'm sorry for myself, coz you're not here with me" touched me deeply. She was eventually found.
John Denver's country road reminded me of when I used to live in the rural town of Dural, NSW Australia many years ago. We had so much fun there as kids with great neighbors that helped each other. When we went on holidays it was exciting however after a week I felt like what john Denver was singing about "And driving down the road I get a feeling I should have been home yesterday, yesterday" I couldn't wait to get home! I have lived in many places but back then it was really home.
Always loved John's songs and so do my elementary music students. Country Roads is #1 but my favorite is Cool, Green and Shady. My students liked it too. Great songs never die.
What you ask is similar to asking to pick the most beautiful flower...this is impossible. For those of us who have loved John's music for over 50 years, I have poignant memories from so many of his songs which has spoken to me of love, sadness, laughter, and family. I wish John Denver finally realized how deeply he touched millions of people. Sadly, I was unable to express my gratitude to him so he could live out a peaceful life in the knowledge of all he brought to humanity.
Know all his songs by heart........grew up and had all his records and even played and sang his songs with my friend Gwen Evans at school concerts in Rhodesia. What great days they were. RIP John and Thanks for being a part of moulding my life.
I loved listening to John Denver's songs back in the early 1970's. Then I moved to Thailand. I was told that people in Thailand didn't listen to that kind of music. Well, they were sure wrong. On arrival in Thailand in 1974, I took a bus from Bangkok to Chiang Mai and what did I hear playing on the bus but Country Road Take Me Home sung by John Denver! Did that ever surprise me and make me fell at home on the other side of the world! Thais loved his songs too!
When it was mentioned that John enjoyed happy times at his grandma's farm, it reminded me of one of my favorite songs of his, but one that is not remembered that much, "Grandma's Feather Bed!"
John Denver used to do a benefit concert for Aspen Camp of the Deaf every year in Aspen, CO. I was a first year teacher of the deaf and attended the concert with my girlfriend back in 1976. When they asked for volunteer interpreters for his songs, I got chosen and had the honor of signing "Sunshine on My Shoulders" while he sang it with the Rocky Mountains as a backdrop. That was a pretty "far out" experience for a 22 year old, idealistic teacher of the deaf. Saw him at Red Rocks Amphitheater which was the absolute best venue to see a John Denver concert. Anytime I hear a song by JD, it instantly takes me to Red Rocks. Grateful for the memories. Poems, Prayers, & Promises & Christmas for Cowboys are 2 of my favorites.
"Rocky Mt. High" is still my favorite. I Love "The Eagle and the Hawk" as well. I agree with the 'loneness in the writing" statement. It was part of his genius in fact, I believe he wrote in such a way as to comfort the listener into not feeling alone themselves.
I already have it in my last testament that Eagle and the Hawk is to be the only song played at my funeral. I will fly like an eagle and soar into the heavens. I love John Denver.
So, so many great songs! Always have told my wife, Annie's Song is the greatest love song I've ever heard. I sing it to her from time to time. Just change the name and although my voice is only so, so, she gets the meaning.
John , I have no idea if you read these comments but as one off your biggest fans, I want you and everyone else to know this. My father’s family came from West Virginia. He loved Country Roads as I do. And let’s not forget it’s the number one song that all country singers sing collectively and is the anthem of country music. John, I hope you know all this and think you do. I pray after the crazy of life, all your best life came back to you. We were all blessed by your music and I pray your life now is it’s best, with your family and Annie. I believe she was whom God made for you with your rib. I pray you are healthy and happy and you and Annie found your way back home. God bless you John, your music is so loved and so are you! I’d love to hear you sing at a great day soon to happen in America’s history.!God bless you and yours.
Loved all his music my favorites is all that was mentioned plus all that wasn't, looking for space is really deep. Miss you John you made my life so much better with your music.
When I was younger, I was lucky enough to see him on his first concert tour of Australia. The concert was at the old Festival Hall in Melbourne. He joked that he always liked singing in barns... To this day, he still has the most beautiful voice I have ever heard. I had always read that a great singer could make you think they were singing just for you... I found out that night that it was true - Pure magic. Today, on my iPhone and the latest Sony XM04's, his music still brings joy. R.I.P. John D. Love from Oz.
Back in the 90s, after a field exercise, my team trekked out of the West Virginia mountains to be picked up by a truck. After about an hour drive, at the intersection of that dirt road with a paved State highway was house, sitting on a knoll with a beautiful view of a great valley. On the side of the house was painted “Almost Heaven” - John Denver’s legacy writ large.
I grew up on John Denver. My parents took me to a concert when I was but 18 months old at Red Rocks Amphitheater. A later concert of his is the first concert I have memories of. His music has always been a part of my life and I remember crying for a day or so after he passed. Rocky Mountain High and Country Roads gave me solace and great visuals in my mind’s eye when I was overseas in Australia. My parents had their first dance to Annie’s Song on their wedding day, and I did the same for mine.
My parents attended one of his concerts here in Eastern Canada. It was in a theatre and his setup was several guitars on their stands in a half circle, a mic on its stand and a stool in the centre. John just sat on the stool and sang his songs, playing whichever guitar was best for each song. I’m pretty sure Mum said that he kicked off his sandals. It was a very intimate evening with him telling many stories between the songs. She was an ardent fan. Listen to his voice - he had tremendous talent...great pitch and delivery.
My best memory is much the same. Lucky enough to see John live in England several times, the best being his last time here just John and his guitars it was amazing and far out !! Still miss him.
Thank you for telling us about John Denver’s life. I so wanted to know about him-his voice was ‘very unique’ and some of his songs he wrote appear to be driven by the beauty of Gods Creation 🏔️ Example you gave was being on a Ski Lift when he wrote the song 🎵 Annie. I actually began hearing 🎵ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH today February 7, 2023-which began my research.
“Looking For Space” is my favorite, too. The clip refers to the loneliness depicted in many of his songs, which is true. He felt things deeply, I believe. His “I Guess He’d Rather Be In Colorado,” sung by Mary Travers, is as close to Heaven on Earth as you can get.
My favorite as well! It's hard to choose just one because he had so many good ones but that one resonates with me the most. His music is like a religious experience.
i once went to a concert of his thinking oh it wont be that great. it was better than great. john showed great kindness by thanking us for staying under the hot boston summer sun..his voice was glorious.he hit notes like a song bird. ones well never hit. gpd bless him. he did charity work in a time where others were doing hard drugs. ill always think of him fondly. his songs helped my teen depression.
Over they years, I saw John several times in concert and had the pleasure of meeting him. His concerts were always packed and he was just as you would imagine. Very down to earth and kind. When at his concerts, there could be a couple of thousand people present but he had the ability to make you feel like you were the only one in the room. He was a great story teller as well. They were always full of humor except when he spoke of treating another human like a human and feeding the children, all the children, around the globe in addition to our treatment of "Mother Earth". The he was dead pan serious and you knew it came from the heart. He made no bones about his love for Annie and his children and later for Jessie Belle. His music touched the hearts of people all over the globe and will continue to do so.
If I was told, for the remainder of my life, I could only listen to one singer, it would be J.D. I could nit choose a favourite song. To me, he was “far out”.

I learned how to play guitar thanks to John, for my 13th birthday, my Mom bought me a acoustic guitar and John Denver song book. It changed my life. I went from being the shy kid in the background to everyone knowing who i was. helped me come out of my shell, i even wound up with the nickname Denver thanks to my math teacher at school because i would sing and play his songs in between periods and at recess and it stuck. Some people still call me Denver now and i 'm 43 years old, lol.

Good times.
The song means so much to all of us. When away from home and family, we long to be with them.
We are in 2021 and he's still loved by millions. He gave us great songs that will live forever
@Luz's I'm beginning to think he's still alive too💜🙏
@@JR-zm2yu ... He Is Alive! John definitely left his mark in this World and in Our Hearts! 💞 He will live forever through his Wonderful Legecy that he left to all of us... and for future generations to come! ♾

@@that70sgirl90 I agree. However, MJ and many others had to fake their own deaths and are actually still alive. Look up Pastor Bob Joyce (John Cook channel & 'EAP is' channel).😊👍👍💜🙏
A very sincere and caring person. The world is lessened without him
Mr, Denver was next door neighbor to my grandparents in St. Peter, Minn. When they moved to Mesa, AZ, he would stop by and play songs for the seniors. I saw him 3 times when I was a child. He signed a photo for me that said Peace! Thank you for your music! Miss you!
Deep down-did he have Peace?
My brother gifted me with a drum head signed by John Denver
That's really cool
Wow thats a story right there
He did so many great songs, THANK YOU!!! Rest in peace...
Ég er sammála þér!
i grew up in South Florida and have always loved the Ocean i’ve Surfed in it , Scuba dove over 250 logged dives in it Sailed and motored accross it and i’ve owned 17 or 18 boats in my life so far John Denver’s music holds a special place in my heart as to me there is nothing better than going as fast as the VesselIm in or operating with JohnDenver playing loudly on a good Audio System , sometimes people look at me weird in the beginning but usually they begin singing and enjoying some of the Classic Music John gave us almost always the people that were a part of that scene with ms from all types of backgrounds and Walks of life at the end of that Journey will say it was one of their best experiences ever i’m nearly 60 years old and i’ve been doing that for years
Words cannot describe how this amazing artist has touched and enriched our lives on so many levels in a way that is Eternal.
AMEN
JOHN DENVER GAVE US BEAUTIFUL MUSIC AND WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE HIM AND HIS SONGS RIP SWEET ANGEL ❤
Still love his music!!! Absolutely love country roads! Thank god I'm a country boy!!! His music still lives on!!!
He was my favorite male singer. I NEVER get tired if hearing him sing his songs.
Sunshine on My Shoulders brings tears to my eyes.
Me too...reminds me of being alone at 6 years old and looking at the lake on the other side of the highway, and singing to myself...
I’m Sorry is one of his best. Such a beautiful song.
My favourite John Denver song.
Yes. I remember the movie they made from that song.
Great stuff
Brilliant singer, songwriter and humanitarian. My favourite Denver song is Annie's Song. He loved his first wife incredibly even though he cheated on her. He said in an interview he was always so lonely without her when he went on tour that he just found women for company. Annie Martel admitted herself that if she had gone on tour with John as he had pleaded for her to do he would never have been unfaithful. His music will live forever.
You loved someone and you repeated cheat on them? you also try to choke them?
Whenever I hear "Sunshine on my shoulders", I actually feel bathed in sunlight. It's such an amazingly powerful, beautiful yet simple song. That British critic who panned the song at John Denver's death was probably dropped as a baby.
I am British. Never heard of the critic or the Rich guy. 😂
He has way too many beautiful songs for me to ever pick just one...I love so many of his songs I could never pick one as a favorite!!! I grew up in the 70's being born in 1968....John has and always will likely be my all time favorite singer and song writer!!! I loved both him & his music both from the first I heard him and them back when I was a boy growing up on Snug Harbor, Rhode Island then Charlestown by the ocean for the first 22 years of life there on RI, I always felt that same connection to nature and this Earth as John did!!! I came to the Appalachian foothills of the Blue Ridges of Virginia at 22 and been here ever since! Still loving and enjoying Johns beautiful music and the beautiful nature here with the Blue Ridges all around me! Here it is October 18, 2024 & I've been listening to John since yesterday afternoon! Thank God for John and youtube!!!
My favourite John Denver song was not heard that often....Perhaps Love.
That is one of my favorites too!
Truely a classic with Pavarati
@@NeilPBrady Domingo.
This song turns my heart to liquid♥️🥰
“If I should live forever, and all my dreams come true, my memories of love will be of you.” One of the most beautiful lyrics ever.
Love John and his music. Biggest regret is never seeing him in concert.
Vincent fusca
A true legend. I wish he was still around today making our world & our lives better.
This video brings back so many memories of the past. I cannot even begin to list them.
I hear you man. Ditto.
Me too👍👍😊😊
Quality Music, lyrics and TV. Those things are lost in today's entertainment industry.
Great story
I heard this song for the first time in 1970 at a bar called Rafters in Sheperdstown WV a college town. I was drinking underage with a loaned drivers license dozens of us sitting at a table with icy cold pitchers of beer. We were so proud, amazing night thanks for the memory John!
I still love his songs. I think they are timeless
I miss him so much. What a blessing his songs were. I use to drive through New Mexiko and Arizona at that time, buying
Indian Arts and Jewelry for my business.
I grew up loving many John Denver songs and named my son Matthew, inspired by his song.
I love his music, sad that he died, his music lives on and I never stop listening. My top favorite song is Rhymes and Reasons
I remember buying the album Rymes and Reason album in the 70’s and playing it over and over when I was training to become a nurse and living in the nursing home accommodation away from home. Happy memories.
I am from West Virginia and I love John Denver. Gone but never forgotten. R.I.P.
John dinver is avery big apart of my life i grew up liesting to his music i would sing sunshine on my sholders to my deaf child and my child aings it to me in sign language it tears me up when i hear it on the radio and my other favorite song by john denver is sweet lady sweet this is a song i played at my wedding to my husband when we got married in1984 i love this song it touchs my heart and soul very very to the center of my heart and soul all in one thank you for your ausome great music and your travels around the world may you rest with wind beneath your own wings brother love your favorite fan k fain ....❤❤❤🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍👍👍
I actually love every one of his songs everyone has a special meaning but the song that really stands out for me that I find myself listening to several times a week is my sweet lady and I sang that to my wife at our wedding crying whole time and so was she
I will always hold dear, John Denver was and is a national treasure!
One of the greatest writer's of all times.
One of the best songwriter, composers, guitar players, and singers ever - as in EVER. Love his music.
How dare anyone, in any genre of music criticize John's music. They must have been terribly jealous of him to be so mean spirited toward such a gifted musician. Just like those the black community who criticized & booed & boycotted Whitney Houston for being "too white!"
Both these artists music will stand the test of time, may they rest in peace.
John was in Morgantown, West Virginia to open the new WVU football stadium which was practically in our back yard. My mother was visiting and she heard him singing Country Roads from our house. Wish I would have been there to hear him!
RIP John❤
I heard that the whole stadium was singing loudly at his Morgantown halftime show.
I LOVE Take Me Home, Country Roads❤️🎶
Loved "I'm Sorry". His voice is timeless.
My favorite also. The lyrics & his voice match so poignantly, hearing it always touches my heart. 🎼
I saw John Denver live in an outside concert in Massachusetts when I was in 12th grade..am 65 & its still one of my fondest memories..
Know all his songs by heart........grew up and had all his records and even played and sang his songs with my friend Gwen Evans at school concerts in Rhodesia. What great days they were. RIP John and Thanks for being a part of moulding my life.
I never get tired of hearing Country Roads; It was a big part of my childhood. I still love it!
It would hold eight kids and four hound dogs and a piggy we stole from the shed...
I love that one too.
That was my favourite when I was a kid and it’s still high on my list. He did that song on the Muppet Show - great fun!
Jack Kircher. It is a fabulous song. I always listen to it.
@@susanjewitt8783 haven't heard it in years! I saw a video of a five year old boy singing and playing "Take me Home Country Roads". Perfect pitch!
Eagle and a hawk is awesome! I put it on repeat because it is too short of a song and I want to listen to it over and over again 💖💖💖
Absolutely!
"Aerie" is my second favorite John Denver album. ("Back Home Again" is my first. )
I'm very fond of Eagles and Horses
I already have it in my last testament that Eagle and the Hawk is to be the only song played at my funeral. I will fly like an eagle and soar into the heavens. I love John Denver.
So, so many great songs!
Always have told my wife,
Annie's Song is the greatest love song I've ever heard.
I sing it to her from time to time.
Just change the name and although my voice is only so, so, she gets the meaning.
I wasn’t a country music fan but I really liked his songs. A great man in many ways.
Country Roads! … One Of The Best Songs EVER!♥️
Loved all his music my favorites is all that was mentioned plus all that wasn't, looking for space is really deep. Miss you John you made my life so much better with your music.
My favorite too. He enriched my life as well. Got me through some hard times.
Born and raised West Virginian I never get tired of hearing Country Roads.
John was a phenomanal musician, person, and nature guardian!
He was one of the greats I loved his music beyond belief

Sweet Surrender and Perhaps Love are my favourites. He was a wonderful singer and entertainer. The words of his songs are - pure poetry.
Mine too. I also like Singing skies and dancing waters.
Loved him.His voice is like luquid gold.
I so wanted to know about him-his voice was ‘very unique’ and some of his songs he wrote appear to be driven by the beauty of Gods Creation 🏔️
Example you gave was being on a Ski Lift when he wrote the song 🎵 Annie.
I actually began hearing 🎵ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH today February 7, 2023-which began my research.
I love “Looking For Space” along with all of his lovely music.
Awesome song!
We still have those old cassette tape of jonh Denver and his song is still playing on the radio here in my country 😊👍
Always heard John Denver on the radio as a kid. Now that I'm older I appreciate his music. What a talented musician and song writer he was.
i once went to a concert of his thinking oh it wont be that great. it was better than great. john showed great kindness by thanking us for staying under the hot boston summer sun..his voice was glorious.he hit notes like a song bird. ones well never hit. gpd bless him. he did charity work in a time where others were doing hard drugs. ill always think of him fondly. his songs helped my teen depression.
As a pilot, and one who grew up with his music, I always liked his rendition of “High Flight.”
I love all his songs! He had such a beautiful voice! He's a legend.
Still Love his music. Lots of memories with it
If I was told, for the remainder of my life, I could only listen to one singer, it would be J.D. I could nit choose a favourite song. To me, he was “far out”.
I wish I'd wrote that. Couldn't put it any better thank you. Peace and far out!!
@@stephensmith24 Bless you for that comment, Stephen. Glad we nit only share the same surname (along with so many 🤣) but the same taste in singer/songwriter genius. “Peace, peace, peace”. Far out! 😃
I'm in the UK, John Denver had a series on the BBC in the 1970's & both my husband & I adored his music. When my husband died suddenly in 1976 John's music was one of the things that got me through & I was privileged in later years to see him perform live at the Royal Albert Hall in London. He made a lot of people very happy I will never forget him
John's lyrics were so deeply meaningful and still relevant to this day. I miss him and his talent so much.
I first heard Rocky Mountain High when i was 13 years old. John Denver quickly became my number one favorite singer-songwriter. I'm 62 now and he is still my number one favorite. Always was, always will be. I spent my life with John's music. R.I.P. my friend.
Loved Johns song Trail of Tears. When he sings this you can almost hear the pain in his voice. What a truly sad song brought to life by his voice.
And his tribute to the space shuttle Challenger. A timeless song that just like John will live forever.
“Rocky Mountain High” was probably my favorite. I also loved him in the movie “Og God” with George Burns.
*ICONIC*
I've been a huge John Denver fan since country roads first came out. He was my favorite musician all through the 1970s. I used to get made fun of a lot but I didn't care. I just kept on listening right til this very day. Thank you for all the beautiful music and memories John Denver and God bless you.
I find it satisfying that his detractors have found anonymity in history while John Denver is still well know via his songs and his actions.
I wonder what Charlie Rich would think of today’s country music if he didn’t think John Denver was country enough .
What a douchebag Charlie Rich was!
I'm a west virginian and never get tired of this song
I live in Wyoming and John's "Song of Wyoming" is as beautiful as our state. I would love for it to become our state song.
I’m not from WV but I remember hearing the song take me home country roads growing up and it called to me. Still my favorite song of his. When we drive through WV ( from Rochester NY to either NC or Florida) I always play that song. Even my kids say now turn it in on mom we’re in WV. ❤️
I like John Denver loved his music I used to sing country roads all the time when I was a kid he is one of our music legends I never will be forgotten
back to my guitar and playing his songs made me want to search more about his life and i found this and seen the comments, how dearly he was loved, like i fell in love as a teen-ager. I'm now reviving my guitar skills at 58 and his songs are just so beautiful!
I dated a guitar player and bought him a John Denver song book. Got him a 12 string Martin for his BD. I brake for guitar players ... It's less messy.
One of my all time favorite songs " Country Roads " came out the year I was born, 1971. R.I.P.
Yes, I remember. It was the summer of '71 and always on the radio. I met my husband that summer and we both love this song.
Poems, Prayers and Promises is another beautiful song of his. The lyrics were quite melancholy.
John Denver died on my 40th birthday. My whole family knew how much I loved him and his music. They brought me flowers as they knew I was heart broken. I saw him in concert in Brisbane Australia. Best night ever. I have the concert ticket framed as one of my most precious possessions.
Adore and adored this man, his talent and music!
I have always loved John Denver & his beautiful songs. I regularly play his music.
