October 12, 1997. It was my husband's birthday and we were taking a walk along Seaclif beach in the afternoon. We saw this experimental plane flying over the Monterey Bay and it flew over Santa Cruz, capitola, and Seaclif before heading back to Monterey. We saw that plane go down and said a prayer for the unfortunate pilot. Later that evening we learned it was John Denver. We both cried that night. He was our favorite singer and we had seen him several times in concert. My husband is now in heaven and I hope he has had the privilege of meeting John Denver!
I look forward to that privilege too. Always regret I never hung out at the stage door to try to meet him after the many concerts I went to. Every one was special. What a man!
I was still living in N. Salinas I would listen to jonh Denver noe i live in San jose. I still list to his music, And Kenny Rogers too my they both RIP.
My husband looked so much like John that women would follow him and ask him if he was really John Denver. It was amusing for awhile but it got old when your at the grocery store and you get pushed aside. Miss that man..passed over 5 yrs ago. We were married for 43 yrs. Miss his smile!
@maryhartley7907 “My husband looked so much like John that women would ……………..” 🌷 I’m sorry for your loss 😢 People say: “…it gets better..” and I suppose it does but when someone passes over, they take a little piece of your heart with them. Yet I also feel that they remain with us as much as they can. My beautiful sister’s big brown eyes and smile and my handsome 6’4” big brother’s mischievous smile will never be forgotten. Please people, 🙏 ‘Life Is Today’ so say ‘I love you’ … often. My very best to you & yours 🩷
WOW-there must be more than one John Denver doppleganger then. We had a spot John Denver here in Charleston-only he was a doctor. People came up to him all the time and asked for his autograph. They were completely confused when he signed it Dr so and so. Today I actually met Robert Plant-his doppleganger version.
I went to school with John and years later we ran into each other and reminisced about old times. His dad and my dad were friends and because of him, I also got my pilot's license. I was off from work the day he died. A friend of mine called me to tell me, and I wept for over a week. Went to the memorial service and I couldn't stop crying. I felt bad for his family and his children. I hope they are all doing well today. I think of my friend often, I miss him. 😢
Thank you for sharing your connection with us all, he was such a beautiful soul and the kind of man this world really needs right now. So I'm 54 and just moved to the beautiful mountains in North Wales, its an area I've known since a child and have many memories of times spent with my late father. I discovered John's music about 20yrs ago, the attraction isn't solely melodic but his love for the world as well as the wonderful vistas of Colorado inspire me. I hadn't listened to his music for a few years until recently and watching this film again as reminded me of how wonderful a man he was, your blessed to have such memories my friend. I wonder how humbled he'd feel if he knew even in 2024 he has the power to move me to tears. Maybe he already knows... 🙏
All the movies and documentaries skip over a part of John's life. John and Annie lived in the same apartment building as my family while their home was being built in the eastern Aspen foothills around 1972-73. It looks like the building has condos now. I went on a walk with them one evening and helped them carry their groceries up to their third-floor apartment. He gave my mother a signed album. They were so nice. FAR OUT!!!
I too, am 70. I remember him well . Pure talent. He was respected and much loved. He was true to himself and followed his dream regardless of what others thought. Isn't that the purpose of life?? God bless him. Gone way too soon!!
My favorite songs were Annie‘s Song and Country Roads. My wife and me sang Country Roads on our wedding. In 1997 when John Denver passed away so tragically, my wife was pregnant with my first child, my beautiful daughter who was born in the end of 1997. His music is so heavenly inspired and beautiful, he left a great legacy behind.
Everything began to fall apart when Annie left him, compounded with losing his record contract, his Father dying and his trees cruelly cut down. Too much for anyone so sensitive and caring to bear. Now he's flying free and making music among the angels. God bless him.
I'm only 3 yrs. away from being 80. In my 20's and 30's, I was a country - pop singer on the road with my husband and a couple other men. That was back in the early 70's. We were playing a gig in Billings Montana. John was playing at another local nightclub. My biggest regret was we never got to go see his show because we were playing at another nightclub the same hours. What a wonderful life God gave to me. I miss the stage so much but my heart lives those years through the new artists. Can't think of anything more satisfying than making love to the audiences through music.
My Mother played Jonn Denver’s Greatest Hits all the time and sang along with John when I was a teenager. She died the same year. It’s been more than twenty five years now and when I hear his beautiful voice today I’m reminded of my Mom. I sing along to John’s Greatest Hits now.
I grew up with his music. My hubby sang my sweet lady on the guitar to me, and that was it...I did follow him everywhere. We headed off to CO...cuz we HAD to have our own Rocky Mt High. It wasn't in Aspen, but it was at 9k feet with a view and it was all I wanted.
I'm right there with you! Such a pure voice singing sweet music that went right to the soul.. I loved John Denver and his music will always bring back wonderful memories of my younger years..
John Denver had the gift of song within his soul, a God-given talent. But it was 'Take Me Home, Country Roads' that brought that talent out full force. I am a native West Virginian and this song is now our 4th OFFICIAL state song. It still brings a gasp to my throat when I hear the opening strains.- 'Almost Heaven, West Virginia....' Thank you, God, for giving us John Denver even if for such a short space in time. And thank you, John, for allowing your talent with words and music to spill out among us. Requiescat in pace.
John brought us wholesome light-hearted country soft rock genre... his songs touch our souls and for that he was a great songwriter and singer. Grew up with his harmonious melodies and easy to sing-a-long...although i could not hold a tune but my soul rejoices and felt at peace...through his struggles he transformed those into uplifting, joyful, melodies which remained classics after all these decades. was fortunate to attend a few of his concerts and those will remain in my memory whenever i hear his songs. On earth you sang with humans, in heaven you sing with angels...thank you John for bringing a spark of life into our lives
No one could sing the way John Denver could about the spectacular beauty of Colorado, the Rocky Mountains and the American West. His songs and his memory live on. Thank you John!❤❤
I always loved John Denver. Sad when I remember his death. He did love flying. My Sister even had Annie’s Song in her wedding. Miss his beautiful music.
I was raised in the Middle East and listened to his songs all the time, back then he was very famous. Few people are blessed to touch many hearts around the world and John Denver was one of them.❤
I was towards the end of my solo cross-country bicycle ride back in '97, from NY to Washington state, when I heard of his crash on my little transistor radio. My favorite song as a kid growing up in LA was "Sunshine on my Shoulders". He really connected with my soul. A very special human being lived among us. May his soul be in peace.
Im 64 now, and I just LOVED John Denver as a young teen. I played his album over and over and knew every word. It’s funny now, but I had to hide my love for him from my friends as we were all hard core rock fans. They would’ve given me so much grief over it. I was heartbroken when he died
Oh John Denver was my heart throb as a preteen. I am 60 now. I read every article I could find on him. Saved my allowance and did odd jobs, cashed in soda bottles just to buy his albums. Had his poster on my wall. ❤
This movie made me cry. What a wonderful man he was. He will be back !Resurrected to life on this beautiful earth . And can’t wait to welcome him back and listen to his heartfelt songs.
John had that unique gift, talent, popularity. He was a great man, died too young. And he had a restless, troubled soul. He wanted to touch everything life had to offer. His spirt has gone onto a better place. He would not be happy with the way the world is now, and would have died trying to make it better.
John Denver was an American treasure. A true pioneer in conservation and the environment way before it was fashionably cool. He set the tone for saving the planet, wasn't even invited to participate in We Are the World video. Shame on all the people who made fun of him. R.I.P. John Denver 🙏🏻 💕
John Denver, what a talent... probably didn't know how many people his songs touched... right up to this day!.. Anne, one of the sweetest women ever. She was such a loving and passionate wife to Denver even when his behavior would be erratic. John's songs will live on forever! Tragic end it was.
I grew up hearing John ’songs. I loved the sound of his voice. He seemed to be a fun person who enjoyed expressing the beauty of Nature. I can remember driving through West Virginia and sliding a CD in the player and listening to him sing about West Virginia. He described it perfectly. His music will always live on as his legacy. ❤
Gypsies must stay together ... I learned this . I'm so sorry that John is gone from this physical world . I hope that he knows how he touched us from all over the world . Brightest of Blessings to all who read this .
John Denver was a legend and I loved his sweet music.. of a simpler time. Chad Lowe really brought him to life in this movie.. his music was a huge part of my growing up years and will always have a special place in my heart.
Great movie. John Denver was a wonder human being. I have seen him in some movies with George Burns. When I was little, I used to go around the house singing Country Roads. He was a legendary singer. His songs are so soothing and he sings about Nature. Great movie to honor his life. Sad that he left this world so early in such a tragic way. I bet though that he is selling tickets in heaven for the Angels to come see him and he sings his songs to them and God.
I knew a man here in Canada, named Mr. Buttes, an eye doctor, he looked exactly like John Denver, he could have done him perfectly. All he needed was a guitar.
He put on the best concert I ever attended. He sang for 2 hours straight continuing even when his band went on break . It was a sad day when he left this world. A great talent
Part 2 is my own personal comment regarding my brother and my love for him as a teen in our dysfunctional family John Denver's music was soothing to our soul. Brings me to his song of the lyrics "you filled up my senses"to me represents the fact that John Denver was able to fill up the senses of others home listen to his music and lyrics because they resonated deep down into their being. That is some of us get goosebumps when I listen to his music. My brother got to meet him backstage and it was a one of the highlights of his life and he's gone now flying with JD no doubt in my mind and that gives me solice. We have all been gifted because he was a sensitive deep soul and really understood the depth of emotions. His gifts of sharing his remarkable talents through his lyrics and guitar has left a profound mark on the world forevermore. John Denver is so missed by those whom appreciated him but more than likely he is flying high like an eagle now, God rest soul.
Wanted to see this movie my brother worked for the Denvers on their home in Aspen. He installed cabinets so he met John and his wife Annie. He was impressed with the down to earth friendliness of his wife but John at that time seemed out of touch with others quit like this movie depicts. Getting in touch with others seems takes an inspiration from our Creator. Johns songs shared that often hopefully he found more of that close personal love like with his dad with Jesus and his family. My brothers are gone and John but memories linger. He also put cabinets in Willie Nelsons home but Willie took time to smoke one with Dave. Great stories.
I remember when he died like it was yesterday. I was so shocked when I heard the news. I Love his songs. Great Singer and man. I wonder if him and Annie would have gotten back together if he hadn't have died. I am sure they still loved each other.
This movie brought back so many memories, I grew up with John Denver, he was such a story teller and had the ability to make you feel something through his music.
Thank you very much for sharing this film. I didn't know I knew songs from him (i'm french) as we could suppose, listning to his song he was receptive to the love and beauty around him. And as we say "you can only see and sense what's all ready inside you" so... What a beautifull soul earth gave us and his songs still guide us. Thank you very much for reminding me of him.
My mother worked for the Aspen hospital. She said he used to come and visit the children’s ward. Also said he was a really nice guy. Still love his music!
Love John Denver, at the age of 18, I used to listen to him all the way and back to the Snowy Mountains at Perisher Valley, NSW Australia. 5 hour drive there and 5 hours back. Great memories.
This was a heartbreaking story. What he needed all along was God. All the women, kids, money, fame, self-help gurus, even helping starving children across the world… nothing in life compares to our Creator. John’s life could have been more stable and fulfilled with those he loved had he acknowledged and accepted that One thing. I grew up with his beautiful music, and listen to it to this day. Wonderful memories. RIP, gentle sir. You truly made a difference in our lives.
Please keep religion and stories out of it. If he was religious, that wouldn't have changed his life other than maybe made it worse for being brainwashed.
My first time watching this. I sometimes think he crashed on purpose .Tears in my eyes, how will i sleep? All I can do is lay there & weep. RIP John Denver. :(
The investigation into the crash showed that the plane was not well fitted to John and there was an issue with the placement of the alternate fuel tank switch that was believed to have been the cause of the crash.
They were very different people. In a marriage like that it takes a selfless person to stay behind raising children. It seemed as though Annie resented John’s popularity.
@@scotcam1940 This is truly an amazing real love story. Great respect for Annie, She gave her life to John and her children. She continued her studies and graduated successfully while still taking care of her kids. What makes her even more remarkable is that she never had a relationship after her divorce with John (as far as I know) and she continued to do what John stood for - John's legacy lives on in that park. Annie did it all - Great respect for this beautiful Lady (Annie Martel Denver). 💖In Memory of Love - John Denver💖 🙏💖🙏 Gone But Not Forgotten 🙏💖🙏 🙏💖🙏 May His Memory Be A Blessing 🙏💖🙏 🙏💖🙏 Keep Him In Your Prayers 🙏💖🙏
I saw this film years ago and cried after seeing it again I still cried, he was a fabulous singer/song writer and died way too soon. R.I.P. John Denver.
I like watching this movie. Thank you for uploding this. I'm 69 now. I like his (John Denver) songs. When I hear his song, I sing following it. RIP JD.
I remember that day that he passed away. I was very upset. I don’t know when this movie came out but I missed it. I’m so happy that I was able to see it today. I cried a lot watching this. It does bring a lot of insight into his life. I listen to his music still today. I wonder if that person that talked about her attempted suicide but she listen to a John Denver song and then wanted to live if that was real or if they made that up. Thank you for sharing this movie with us. God bless.
Songs have been my life,be it sadness or joyful times in my life, yet I do not have a singing voice to sing them. I-will always remember John Denver’s story and all the many people who gave that my life would be all God intends us to be that we may learn to love through all the sad times as well as the happy times. Thank You All Who gave of yourselves that we may enjoy all things.💕🤗 It makes life complete.💕🙏🥀
When my sister and I were young, she had a crush on John Denver. I understood why - He had a beautiful tenor, pure and clear, and his songs were wonderfully composed. Voice, guitar, melody and words filled me with peace and joy. He's truly flying now in Heaven.
I actually had a dream that I married him- I was sure He was the one for Me. Beautiful man with a beautiful voice , and his death was a loss for all of us
I saw him in concert 3 times including after I moved to Texas. I always make my family listen to him when driving back to Colorado to visit. They know all his songs by now. They let me listen anyway 😊 At least once a trip!
Thank you for uploading this movie. I was never aware of his story. I just loved his voice and songs. One of my favourite songs was my grandmothers feather bed, May he RIP
I was heartbroken when he died , I was a big fan of his lyrics to his music . Especially a song he wrote in the 70's called ( Looking for space ) I used to play the record over and over . At 66 yrs old I still listen to John Denver every now and then. I for one will never forget him. FOREVER REST IN PEACE ❤
In Hearing his story, and following his music as a kid, now 65. It simply brings tears to my eyes, to know a man who had so much going for himself, and his family, continuously thinking he wasn't enough because of other's decisions from { record labels} And yet his songs would touch the hearts of so many people, his compassion for life and all that God had created. He sang of Love and his journey through Life! He was a remarkable man that will truly be missed! It should give us all something to think about. We really aren't alone. And everyone wants to be heard. God Bless you John and your family! You are truly Loved! And will never be forgotten. You are blessed to sing before the Lord! See you on the other side! ❤🙏
Sometimes, Especially with the generation, who went through the Great Depression and WWII, they have a hard time expressing their feelings. My Father never told me "He was proud of me". But, by his actions and sometimes subtle hints, I knew he was.
Enjoyed this movie very much...Although I was a child and my brothers ( had 4 ) loved his music also, I remember his songs well...Shame he died but his music still lives on...R.I.P. John...Thank you uploader

My Mother played Jonn Denver’s Greatest Hits all the time and sang along with John when I was a teenager. She died the same year. It’s been more than twenty five years now and when I hear his beautiful voice today I’m reminded of my Mom. I sing along to John’s Greatest Hits now.
Nice !
Awesome

John Denver would be 80 years old today Dec.31, 2023. I still love his music and songs! 🎶 ❤😊
He had more to give but died to young
Annie needed to be with John, on all concerts, things would be so different and beautiful.
I need my family too. My love
His music was a part of my growing up. It still touches me today
😃
Yes! Mine too!
His music is timeless. Never tire from listening to his music.
I remember this last song. I didn't know that John died in a plane crash.
I feel the same way about his music. It is always a pleasure to hear it❤
I LOVE John Denver. Something about his voice just make you love him.
Beautiful movie.

Annie was so compassionate. A co-worker had terminal cancer and she welcomed him to come to their home in Aspen, what a sweet soul.
That sound will never come back it can never be replicated.

Apparently, he had his Dad's temper when things didn't go his 😊way.
The opening notes to Almost Heaven still make my heart feel something. I'm from West Virginia and we are all nuts for that song.
even in saskatewan it still makes my heart skip a beat and i have to stop and listen
That song is _not_ called
"Almost Heaven"! It's called
"Country Roads"
We have a farm with an extraordinary view called Almost Heaven.

John had that unique gift, talent, popularity. He was a great man, died too young. And he had a restless, troubled soul. He wanted to touch everything life had to offer. His spirt has gone onto a better place. He would not be happy with the way the world is now, and would have died trying to make it better.
He was the kind of guy you knew was passionate about his love for the environment and not just trying to do whatever was popular at the moment.
I sometimes wonder had John lived, would the world be in such a mess now. His passion, foresight, commitment is sadly missed.
This past Wednesday, October 12, 2022, was the 25th anniversary of John's passing. His legacy will always live on! 💔❤️💜💜💜💜

I love this movie. I love his songs. So sad we lost him far too soon .
I miss his perspective on life and how he put words together so easily with music. A great and compassionate man.❤😊
His mom worked at the peds clinic where I took my kids. He was one of my favs! John Denver, Dan Fogelberg, Loretta Lynn, John Cash, miss them all!
Gypsies must stay together ... I learned this .
I'm so sorry that John is gone from this physical world .
I hope that he knows how he touched us from all over the world .
Brightest of Blessings to all who read this .
He is the first most popular singer from Western in China! His voice is sweet and loving, it brought me back to1987 when I just started to work.
He was a great man, a great human, and a wonderful musician. You are definitely missed, John .❤RIP.
Great man who cheated on his wife and then blamed her for it
@@mike-kellydutkiewicz5991 He was only human. We all make stupid choices over our lifetime.
John Denver was a legend and I loved his sweet music.. of a simpler time. Chad Lowe really brought him to life in this movie.. his music was a huge part of my growing up years and will always have a special place in my heart.
I love folk music , there is nothing more pure and beautiful.
This world isn't always a good place for sensitive souls.
Mr John Denver Is The Greatest Singer In The Whole World!
I Love All His Songs!❤❤❤!
Traveling throughout Canada in 1981 with on tape in the car....JOHN DENVER NEVER LEFT ME...WONDERFUL SONG'S 👌
Love John all of his songs are pure and beautiful RIP sweet man
He put on the best concert I ever attended. He sang for 2 hours straight continuing even when his band went on break . It was a sad day when he left this world. A great talent
Well said.
26 years ago the world lost a legend and I lost a friend. I still love you and miss you JD.
I saw him in concert in El Paso Texas in 74, I am now 66 years old I still love John Denver by the way I had center floor seats lol
I cried and cried and cried literally til I found myself sobbing😢.... Thank you Mr. John Denver truly your songs are legacy. Rest in peace!
me too.
4:51 I am so thankful he didn't listen to his father. He had an excellent singing voice. Can't imagine this world without a John Denver.
I've listened to most everything he wrote. He was a prolif writer and an excellent performer. His memory is a blessing.
“Sunshine Makes Me Cry” I always loved Music and Songs by John Denver. R.I.P. JOHN R.I.P.
Forever Loved. ❤️. Forever Missed😢
Loved John Denver and his music. He was a wonderful talent and inspiration and is very missed.
😢😢😢😢😢 this made me cry so much. John Denver was always a big b part of my life. RIP. ❤❤❤
Love John Denver, at the age of 18, I used to listen to him all the way and back to the Snowy Mountains at Perisher Valley, NSW Australia. 5 hour drive there and 5 hours back. Great memories.
Great music, memories, Dr.giridhar Bgv
This was a heartbreaking story. What he needed all along was God. All the women, kids, money, fame, self-help gurus, even helping starving children across the world… nothing in life compares to our Creator. John’s life could have been more stable and fulfilled with those he loved had he acknowledged and accepted that One thing. I grew up with his beautiful music, and listen to it to this day. Wonderful memories. RIP, gentle sir. You truly made a difference in our lives.
John clearly took Annie from her path and life and when she wanted to create a family he put her SECOND. Never put your wife and partner second.
I feel just the same you do. Very sad, and with the Jesus movement going in his early days, I'm sure John had heard the Gospel from someone.
Please keep religion and stories out of it. If he was religious, that wouldn't have changed his life other than maybe made it worse for being brainwashed.
I totally agree with you. He was so close to meeting the Lord it is difficult to say what prevented it. Pray for his wife and children.
@@georgewettig1860His x-wife is amazing. She said nothing but 100% positive things about him after his death.
A talent that will forever be missed.
My first time watching this. I sometimes think he crashed on purpose .Tears in my eyes, how will i sleep? All I can do is lay there & weep. RIP John Denver. :(
Mahaaaaaaassaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
❤❤❤❤ALOHA I’MUA ~ We are One and we all move forward together. John was on to his next happier adventure🙏🏼♥️♥️♥️😇🐕🦺🌺CA
Hmmm...i also had a feeling that he wanted to die when he said goodbye to Annie.
The investigation into the crash showed that the plane was not well fitted to John and there was an issue with the placement of the alternate fuel tank switch that was believed to have been the cause of the crash.
Me too, that’s what we heard in my country. Life wasn’t going well for him. People didn’t talked about mental health that much at that time.
Very very talented man whose songs will never grow old. ❤
The Way They Loved Each Other In The Beginning Was Special, Why Can't That Kind Of Love Last Forever???
His career caused them to grow apart and it dont help that he cheated on her
His career came before his family. It looks like that’s why the marriage didn’t last.
It could
They were very different people.
💖In Memory of Love - John Denver💖
🙏💖🙏 Gone But Not Forgotten 🙏💖🙏
🙏💖🙏 May His Memory Be A Blessing 🙏💖🙏
🙏💖🙏 Keep Him In Your Prayers 🙏💖🙏
John Denver is playing for the Saints I'm sure. Thank you for what you gave the world.
Only if he accepted Jesus Christ into his life, repented of his sins, and followed Jesus Christ.
Did not John Denver believe in New Age religion?
The man, the music, the message, the Legend of John Denver will never die. RIP John ❤
I saw this film years ago and cried after seeing it again I still cried, he was a fabulous singer/song writer and died way too soon. R.I.P. John Denver.
I still love his music and have since he first became known. I didn’t realize his struggles. Such a shame.
I like watching this movie.
Thank you for uploding this.
I'm 69 now.
I like his (John Denver) songs.
When I hear his song, I sing following it.
RIP JD.
Love his voice a true gift from god! RIP JD
God bless.
It could have been real cos that story woke Anne up and put her to think... Sad story 🙏RIP John🙏
Annie has told that story in an interview.
Songs have been my life,be it sadness or joyful times
in my life, yet I do not have a singing voice to sing them.
I-will always remember John Denver’s story and all the
many people who gave that my life would be all God
intends us to be that we may learn to love through all
the sad times as well as the happy times. Thank You All
Who gave of yourselves that we may enjoy all things.💕🤗
It makes life complete.💕🙏🥀
He got a pure sound . Beautiful lyrics .one of my favorite singers .Rest In Jesus love John .
When my sister and I were young, she had a crush on John Denver. I understood why - He had a beautiful tenor, pure and clear, and his songs were wonderfully composed. Voice, guitar, melody and words filled me with peace and joy. He's truly flying now in Heaven.
I actually had a dream that I married him- I was sure
He was the one for
Me. Beautiful man with a beautiful voice , and his death was a loss for all of us
No, not unless he asked Jesus to save him, confessed his sins and repented.
It was reedy but somehow nice. He was a good songwriter in the beginning.

RIP John. You left your heart with us in your music, and you will always be treasured, and never forgotten❣️
Have loved John for a very long time !!!from Africa 🌍 🙌 ❤ 👏 ♥ 💙
Good movie I heard his music growing up I’m 49 now never knew his story 😢
I loved John Denve'rs voice and songs. What a treat to find this movie.
I remember seeing John Denver on TV in the 80s in some musical awards shows.
Musical genius ❤
He really was.
We are now in 2024, John Denver will be 81 years old by the end of the year. (31 December 1943)
Sometimes,
Especially with the generation, who went through the Great Depression and WWII, they have a hard time expressing their feelings. My Father never told me "He was proud of me".
But, by his actions and sometimes subtle hints, I knew he was.
I can still sing along with all his songs.❤
John Was And Is One Of The Greatest Voice's His Legacy Will Always Live On

John Denver had such wonderful song writing ability and such a wonderful voice. I miss his music. I don't hear it much on the radio anymore.
Enjoyed this movie very much...Although I was a child and my brothers ( had 4 ) loved his music also, I remember his songs well...Shame he died but his music still lives on...R.I.P. John...Thank you uploader
