What's up, Doug! Thanks for the work you put on to help us out. Do you still use this service? Or do you have any other video on another service you might think it's better now. I'm about to upload my course for launch next next month.
Hi Edmond, I do offer coaching calls which you can book through my website. I also have a written guide with my hosting recommendations you may find helpful: www.convology.com/best-hosting-for-thrive-themes-websites/
Hi Doug, How can I make a playlist of the videos and embed it in my Wordpress site. That would serve well for a video course. Let me know if you have any idea regarding it. Best Regards
Hi, thanks for your video, so clearly explained even for somebody like me who doesn't understand much at technic ... could you tell me how you compress your videos so they are 27 Mo ? mine are too heavy ...
Bunny Steam will do some compression but you can also use a tool called Handbrake that allows you to optimize videos for web viewing which radically reduces file size. It also depends on the program you use to make videos. When I edit videos on my Windows PC in Camtasia, the files are gigabytes smaller than when I edit them on my Mac in Final Cut Pro. Lots of factors come into play like codec, quality, compression, etc., etc., but that's beyond my current understanding. I'm taking courses on all this stuff to learn more. :)
@@Convology thanks ! I still have a problem, error 403 when I try to watch the video in thriveapprentice. I already checked the allowed domains but it still doesn't work... I tried with mp4 and with .mov videos ... both same problem ...an idea what to check ?
@@AyDeeSandra I don't bother with handbrake anymore since Bunny Stream is so cheap. The time it takes to use handbrake is worth more to me than the cost of not using handbrake and just uploading to Bunny Stream. In the past year of uploading gigs of video every other week, I'm still paying less than $1 a month.
Thanks very much for this. I wonder if you have a video about encoding? You said your upload was 27Mb for an ~11-minute video. It's just that some of my 15-20 minute videos - converted to mp4 with Handbrake - are several hundred Mb. I'm very curious to know what your encoding procedure is? TIA.
I export my videos directly from my video editing software (I use Camtasia most of the time. I have for years and it's just so easy.) I export at 1080p mp4 at h.264 which gives me pretty small videos already, then you can run them through handbrake and it sometimes shaves a bit off.
@@Convology Hey Doug, I use ScreenFlow. For some reason, ScreenFlow exported mp4 video file size is always on the larger side even when it is 1080pm H264 and High Web selected. If I go lower bit rate, for some reason, ScreenFlow outputs a bit poor quality (visually poor). So, I keep the "HIGH WEB" setting with like 3,000 kbps and then use Handbrake to optimize for web etc. I see almost 10x smaller file size from Handbrake with no degradation in (visual) quality. Just thought I mention what I have experienced.
Hello Doug, Thank you for another awesome video. I also have everything on Vimeo and would be looking to switch. I wonder... are you not using presto player? I thought this + bunny net would be the best solution out there, can you share your thoughts on why bunny stream instead of presto + bunny?
I still don't really understand HLS encryption and iOS. I did a test on this and it did not play on my iPhone. But my research shows iOS DOES support HLS encryption. Maybe someone can explain this one to me, or maybe it's an iOS 14 update thing? In the video I state that Apple does not support HLS but they DO, or they DID. Regardless, in my testing I could not get this to work on an iPhone. Perhaps it's related to the Mediacage DRM saying, "Trying to access the videos directly or within a third-party video player will be disabled." iOS's player is third-party, right? UPDATE IN THE REPLY.
I reached out to Bunny.net and they responded: "HLS is different to our MediaCage DRM but they both have the desired effect. We are looking at resolving the problem with the DRM not working on iOS but I wouldn't be able to offer an ETA on this being resolved." So me calling it HLS in the video is wrong but at least they're working on iOS compatibility. :)
Yeah, definitely. Uploading 1-3 hour videos to Vimeo regularly has to mean you're on a pretty big account there. You would definitely save if you switched.
Probably not. You could use an application to play the video and have it appear on Zoom, something like Ecamm Live. But just a default connection between the two I do not believe is possible.
hello sir , is bunny cdn is not a hosting itself , means do we have to purchase a hosing plan and than install wordpress in it and than install bunny cdn to get our content shown in website , or we don not need to purchase hosting we directly can get free wordpress and install bunny cdn in it to get our video content live
There's some minor editing of the video player, but the best customization comes from using Presto Player. I have videos about that here on the channel.
No, not at all. Presto Player will integrate with this and provide all of the additional Presto Player features including the ease of uploading (and soon bulk uploading) and organizing videos directly in your WP site and using shortcode vs HTML. I'm still using it.
Hey Doug have you encountered any issues not providing lower resolutions than 720p like if the end users internet connection dropped for some bizarre reason would the video would just buffer (so freeze/stop playing) instead of dropping to a lower resolution (which it can't)?
@@Convology hmm going to check - is there a way to put this in a thrive apprentice lesson or have as an easy download as a freebie delivered on my wordpress site?

Hi Maryse, that's a strange one that I haven't seen before. Can you record a quick video and email it to me (doug@convology.com) and I'll take a look to see if it's an error with how you're setting it up, or an error with your site/host.
I'm not sure what you mean, but I created this video to inform people about this product over two years ago and it continues to help people find Bunny Stream. Was there a particular link that's broken?
You can store audio files and serve them up via the CDN. As long as you have something providing an RSS feed for your podcast pointing directly to the MP3 files, I imagine it's possible.
any update fot thet? so for right now i still no possible for protects videos? or the unprotect will be on the iphone only? (on computer its will be protect?) big thanx

Monitor it and see if it works! That's the best advice I can give. If it seems to work on mobile, then you're good.

how do you transfer videos from one library to another?
You can't move videos from one library to another. You can only move videos between collections in the same library.
