Fantastic!! My great uncle flew one of these in Op Tonga on D-Day and in Op Market Garden. This video has definitely made me think I should make one too :-)
Absolutely wonderful. "...You'll find them all doing the Lambeth walk...." ..."Standby!" ... "Legs up!".... "... Up the Ox and Bucks!..." ... "... Up the Ox and Bucks!..."
Oh, my goodness. Those figures on the sprue are 1/72 versions of the Airfix 1/32 British Paratroops. One of the big plastic soldier regrets is that Airfix never converted their 1/32 Brit Paras to a 1/72 set but there they are (some of them anyway).
beautifully done, my grandpa made me this model when I was 9 in 1979 commemorating operation "Market Garden" 35th anniversary. Still have it in storage back in Europe awaiting return to a serviceable airframe status. Next project maybe consider the speeds of the subject more and the type of damage. On the leading edges of the wings and fuselage, etc. I remember from bushflying dirt gets everywhere.
Very good job! Looks great. The rearsection of the Fuselage where constructed to be disconnect from the glider after Landing by little explosive charges. These allows a faster disembarking an unload of heavy load like a Jeep and a 6 Pdr. Gun. When used as an trooptransporter only the rearend not nessessarily needs to be thrown off. Please excuse my bad english.
Super job on both the Glider and the diorama, a great scene from 1944, one that my Father In Law was involved with: dropped into Normandy from a C-47 Skytrain on D-Day, he was a 101st Airborne "Screaming Eagle."
You're welcome mate...give positive praise where it's due! Yes, I do know all his details, I have his kit bag, medals and all the war memorabilia that he brought back from Germany with him when he ended his tour in 1946. I made a video about him in October 2014....here's the link to it: ua-cam.com/video/Yu8qRtyCJLc/v-deo.html Cheers : )
To be honest I can’t remember, I think the kit gives you parts for a open door but you have to cut the door out on the model and then add the interior parts
Magnifique travail monsieur Magnificent work sir And good explanation This is a pleasure for the eyes I am subscribed And I would be proud to have you as subscriber too
Very good indeed, congrats ! BTW, is it my poor view or the paras' denison smocks look a bit plain ? (And the american para went cautiously along or is he some kind of miracle ? His "chute" is unused ;) )
We used the Horsa for Operation Market Garden as the Horsa had the larger carrying capacity for troops and equipment than the Gliders that the US used during D-Day.
Weathering makes no sense in this case. These Gliders where made for oneway use only. They didn't become old. A little bit of Dirt on the outside of the fuselage an the canopy, a little dust on the wingfronts (Exhauts smoke from the towing Planes?) that's it..

Riff haha thank you very much !
very nice work, mate! but why the American para just standing there with(what looks like) his jump gear on?
shirley lacour I just used all the figures supplied in the kit , but your right it does look like a U.S para

Skofin Scope thank you !
Scale Modelling 76 your likes are much deserved, your stuff is awesome! It inspired me to try it out myself, although it isn't as good as yours
Awesome job.. reminds me of a Bridge too far!!!
Fantastic mate! I think I just might pick one up. I’ve been wanting to do a horsa ever since I read Stephen Ambrose’s book “Pegasus Bridge”! :D
The British Modeller thank you ! Yeah they are pretty interesting, I got this after I visited the museum of army flying in the UK !
Ficou muito bom, e a música deu um toque a mais.

Lovely model, will be starting this shortly
Sudden Strike music- appropriate and unexpected
Very good indeed, congrats ! BTW, is it my poor view or the paras' denison smocks look a bit plain ? (And the american para went cautiously along or is he some kind of miracle ? His "chute" is unused ;) )
I have the Horsa in the stash. And it is such a large glider in 1/72 scale. And the one I have has decals for a US and RAF version.
Michael Mitchell oh nice, I didn't realise the US used Horsa's I thought they just used their Hadrian gliders ! Thanks for the comment !
We used the Horsa for Operation Market Garden as the Horsa had the larger carrying capacity for troops and equipment than the Gliders that the US used during D-Day.
Very nice done! Looks good! ;)

War Thunder music.
Good choice.

Am i the only one here thats watched the longest day, only me, ok
Ok it was only you, but did you watch it with your shoes on the wrong feet?
@@riff2072 He's dead. I'm crippled. You're lost. Do you suppose it's always like that? I mean war.
ハミルカーも出て欲しかったな。
non vanno incollate le parti della fusoliera quello originale dopo l'atterraggio si separava in 3 blocchi 😤
EXPERT LANDING YOU COULD HAVE HAD A JEEP FOR TRANSPORT DOORS.
To bad you were not inspired by history? The placement of the figures is . . . odd to say the least
Andrew Phillips fair comment
Great inspiration and build I thinking make operation market garden with my Italieri kit thanks for sharing
