NFL games bore me to sleep, the crowds are so quiet and there's no emotion. College on the other hand is by far more exciting. The fans are loud, the stadiums are rocking, and the players actually show some pride for their school, not to mention they do all that without getting a paycheck.
true, March Madness is more exciting than NBA sometimes. Every college football game, especially if the team is good, the crowds make the game that much more fun to watch.

Thank you SO MUCH for saying this Max! The injuries, the diversity, the rivalries (not just between teams but CONFERENCES), the dual-threat QB's, the importance of EVERY game and how it affects how each team is perceived... It all makes college football WAY better.

Playoff system is trash, it's decided by some idiots who pick who the feel are the best, that doesn't work and frankly the games are even more one sided than pro games. ESPN just wants to promote things they will continue to be airing.
College Football is NEVER going to be better than the NFL. NEVER. It's like saying it's better to watch amateurs than to watch the best in the world. Would you rather watch Nadal vs Federer or watch College Tennis? Would you rather watch Yankees vs Astros or watch College baseball? At least with the NFL, we're not certain which two teams will play in the Superbowl. National Championship game, Alabama vs Clemson again? Yawn.

I agree with Max!!! For me it’s been like that for the past 4-5 years. In College football the games matter more for the fact that 1 loss can cost you a title. The different styles of offenses and all the pageantry of the pregame hype especially with rival games are so cool.
NFL they get paid and for some it’s just about money which is cool and all but I feel playing for college bragging rights and just the players trying to get to the next level makes it more fascinating.
Still love the NFL but college football is king in my opinion.

The NFL is having their worst year maybe ever, between the protests, ratings, owner infighting, Goodell, and major injuries to the best players in the top markets. You can make this argument for the this season and its hard to argue against it.

Nebraska-Oklahoma. That was one of the great rivalries in college football. That's also why college football was/is better than the NFL. It's a shame they're no longer in the same conference and don't play each other anymore.
2 Things in NFL that are killing my patience. 1) 95% of time when there is a huge big play, it gets called back because of a holding or offside penalty. 2) Constant replay reviewing whether the player properly caught the ball.
College football is so much more inclusive. You feel more of a connection with the program because you may have gone there or you may live in a state strongly effected by the services it provides. There's a reason most of Pennsylvania are big supporters of the school in the small central township of State College. It's because Penn State does a lot all around the state, they always see the way the school improves their lives. And when they go to a game, they feel a part of the atmosphere at the game. When was the last time the atmosphere at an NFL game really mattered?

The blowouts and lack of defense make the college games boring. I saw Oklahoma-and TCU. IT WAS 62-52!!! College is great but I still like watching the Nfl action although more blowouts are happening this season too!

It has always been better more exciting, bigger crowds, higher scoring games, the rivalries.
The NFL talent is clearly better, but the drop in quality isn't nearly as bad as basketball. The total packet of a College football game is clearly better. The NFL teams had bands, fight songs and historic stadiums back in the day that if they grew with the NFL would give the team and city a tighter bond. The Packers kept their history better than most teams like in college.

Ridiculous. This is akin to saying aumeture boxing is superior to pro boxing. Sure it might be entertaining in spurts, but ultimately it's a watered down, undisciplined, less physically matured version of its professional counterpart. If you appreciate the tactical elements of football, the college game pales on comparison, even if it may capture more of the emotional aspects of the game. Just like a street fight is more emotional than a professional fight.

I've been seeing this coming for a while now. To sum it up best, the NFL has gotten too big for itself. They have no degree of self evaluation from the players to coaches to executives. What I mean by that is, players all think they are the best player and have no reason or room to improve, the coaches have no sense of self direction whatever one coach does to succeed 20 other coaches are right behind him in that same lane, and the executives including owners and league personnel think every decision they make is the best decision and it's all about advancing themselves, never a thought for the greater good of the entire league. Just look at Fidel Goodell's request for lifetime benefits, the players are prepping for a strike once this cba is expired and the owners STILL want to dictate non football aspects of player's lives. All of this let's wear pink crap to let's wear camoflague crap to let's wear whatever the social issue is crap is another example of how no one in the NFL evalutes what's good for the league. Most people don't understand that wearing of the camoflague towels and pink towels was a business decision, it ADDED to the NFL's bottom line aka made them more money. Then they became reactionary to EVERYTHING that threatened the bottom line, former players suing the league and player's association led to a hard stance of "we have to make the league safer". Then they decided to export the gameday experience. And where does that help the NFL, only on the bottom line. Good riddance to the NFL, college football is king once again.
two reasons why college football beats the NFL. 1. Tradition. No teams have tradition even close to what the college football teams have. 2. The amount of teams in college. We have a selection of 30/40+ college games every week which means you can see all the varied styles of play. being restricted 16 games over the course of 4 days (not including teams with bye weeks) is boring. I really hope the NFL adds another team for each division in my life time so us the fans can be treated to more varied game styles.

Once again they over explain a very simple issue or cause...... college football is more exciting because you're basically seeing the same players in the NFL at their peak..... as far as athleticism, but actually playing at their highest level...College football players are more athletic during those years....the NFL just makes them stronger(hence all the injuries in league)....your not more athletic at 25 than you were at 19..... your just stronger if anything. .......by the time those same players get to the NFL and have money they lose that potential doing primitive things losing sight of the awesome opportunity......

The only thing College has over the NFL is the players aren't driven by money or contracts, so they show up every week with nothing on their mind but football.
The actual College game is ASS compared to the NFL. Football simpletons who say they like it more just want to see lots of offense with shit defense. 62-52 or 79-3 should not be a normal football score, but in college it is.
Beyond that, the kids only play there max 4-5 years. You'll never have a Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers of College football.

111illmatic do you know that blowouts are authentic, from the final scores I see the NFL is allowing a few more this year, when the worst team in the league is never beaten by more than 28 points that's a dead give away that there is some fixing going on, or when a team gets up by 21 or more points only to have the losing pull within 7 or less before the end of the game. Blowouts happen because sometimes it's just not your night. Just look at the final scores of the Super Bowl before the Rams won their first one then look at the final scores of the Super Bowls that followed that one, a clear example is when San Francisco played Baltimore. The Ravens had their number then all of sudden the 49ers make it a one score ball game. They didn't interfere with that ass kicking that Seattle gave Denver though, that was interesting.

I Disagree. The atmosphere is better in college football, but there is too many lopsided games. Any team could play in the NFL and I would tune in too watch because even if one team is better the other could upset them or at least make it enjoyable. In college you know certain teams have no shot at beating the other team. Alabama vs Ole Miss for example, they won 66-3 that is ridiculous!

Football works best as an amateur sport. Pro-football may be played at a higher level, but college football is better *football.* The players are not professionals, and so there is less room for ego; they're playing football purely for the love of the game. Meanwhile, the fans are INFINITELY more passionate at the college level than the pro-level, because college football teams are more localized than professional, and there's more of a personal connection between the supporters in the stands and the players.
