Here are 7 popular false teachings Christians must avoid. Jesus said that false teachers would come as wolves in sheep's clothing. Much of what is being promoted across the pulpit today is false teaching and not supported in scripture. I encourage you to check everything you hear against scripture to ensure it is biblically sound. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hey everyone, this discussion is great but please be careful not to put words in my mouth. As I'm reading the comments it is clear that is what is happening. I never said that Christians should "love nightclubs." What I said is that it is not a sin to go to a nightclub. And be careful about assuming all night clubs are the same. I have been to some very upscale nightclubs that play only instrumental jazz and people are there dancing together as couples celebrating their love. I don't see any law in the Bible that prohibits that. What I WOULD stay away from are nightclubs with music that is ungodly, excessive drinking and lewd behavior and scantily dressed women. That I would not support nor encourage. But you cannot lump all "nightclubs" as being evil because many of them just play jazz and serve food. Great discussion!

Paul Donnelly I’m pretty sure the word night clubs is not found in the Bible :) And since it’s not that means that the Bible doesn’t explicitly prohibit it night clubs. As I said you cannot lump all establishments into one pile. You have to consider them individually as you assess what activities are actually taking place there.

God can't lose you but you can lose God. The Bible said in Heb 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
1 Chro 28:9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever
2 Chro 15:2 The Lord is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.
STOP FALSE TEACHers. HALF TRUTH IS A LIE.

I agree with the majority of your points, especially the one about speaking in tongues. Paul clearly said that not every believer will be given that gift. However, I believe that some Christians avoid seeing R-rated movies, listening to secular music, and going to nightclubs in order to avoid temptations.

Definitely, but teaching people that listening to some secular music (like songs of love and compassion) is a sin, just because it's secular can be dangerous too.

I find it difficult to agree with that. Let us not try to label or define what's death its all about. I personally think we should only focus on what we know and what is written in the bible. Because to say death its God's call is to just to bring up other follow up questions which we don't have answers for, like genocides, and other disastrous things that happen that end up millions of people dying can we say its God's call? ... Your channel is a part of the problem too sometimes.why a newborn Christian would listen to secular music or watch rated R movies or go to night Clubs? The Holy Spirit can tell a woman to stop wearing makeup, if that became her Idol without imposing you to do the same. There’s some thing that we don’t have to teach to a spirit fill Christian. Christian is an identity, not a self given name to feel better about ourself. Narrow is truly the gate, but God’s Grace is here to allow us to go deeper with him in obedience. It’s time to quit the milk, the creation is waiting for the revelation of the children of God. Are you ready to pay the price? We all have to ask ourselves this question.

If you have the Holy Spirit dwelling in you then you wouldn’t feel the need to go to R rated movies. I used to watch them before I got saved.. but now that I’m in Christ I no longer feel the need to go and watch secular movies. I barely even watch Netflix anymore, 99% of stuff on their isn’t beneficial for my walk with God.
There are some things the Bible doesn’t mention.. but as followers of Christ who have the Holy Spirit we should just KNOW that some things aren’t meant for us to partake in.
I used to also be a pot smoker before I got saved, and now I have absolutely no craving for it anymore. I know quite a few Christians who are deceived into thinking it’s okay to smoke weed, and they smoke it every day. The Bible also doesn’t mention pot... but it does say to be sober minded. We need to be awake and alert especially in these days.
All in all.... the Bible doesn’t mention everything we have to avoid, that’s why God gave us common sense and discernment.

      @Harold Taylor
@Erning Paguirigan is correct. And the answer to your question “Which church is that?” is simple: The Church of Jesus Christ (not the church of some other man with some other name). We’re talking about the Church that Christ Himself personally organized and imbued with HIS doctrine, His power, His Authority. We’re talking about HIS Church which He left in the charge and care and under the authority (in His absence and until He personally returns) of a body of 12 ordained men called THE TWELVE APOSTLES who were to oversee His Church and to “keep the saints in the unity of the faith” by teaching CORRECT doctrine while correcting any and all false doctrines introduced to the Church by ANYONE. If and when one of the Twelve Apostles died, another was called and ordained to the Apostleship by the remaining 11 to replace the one who had died to maintain the proper divine number the Lord Himself had set for that governing body of His Church. The 11 didn’t just randomly pick someone. They didn’t make the call on their own. They knew better than anyone whose Church it is and whom they serve. They PERSONALLY KNOW the Master whom they serve AND THAT THE CALLING OF ANY NEW APOSTLE TO REPLACE ONE WHO HAD DIED WAS THE LORD’S CALL TO MAKE AND NOT THEIRS! Therefore “they PRAYED, and asked, THOU LORD WHO KNOWEST THE HEARTS OF ALL MEN, SHOW WHICH OF THESE THOU HAST CHOSEN. And they gave forth their lots [the 11 remaining Apostles each submitted the name of the man the Holy Ghost directed them to choose] and the lot fell upon [Matthias in this particular case when replacing Judas Iscariot] and he was numbered with the eleven Apostles.” [see Acts chapter 1] ...So once again there were 12 as Jesus Christ Himself had established AND AS HE CONTINUED TO MAINTAIN thru the body of men called the Apostles ...until it couldn’t be maintained anymore and the prophesied darkness of the “falling away” occurred and the Lord’s one true Church was removed from the Earth AS PROPHESIED until the promised “times of Refreshing” / “times of Restitution of all things” [see Acts chapter 3] when the Lord’s one true Church would be RESTORED (not ‘reformed’) in the exact same form as Christ had established it and had left it, with the body of TWELVE APOSTLES STANDING IN HIS PLACE until His final return. If a church doesn’t have a body of TWELVE APOSTLES watching over it, you can be assured it is not Christ’s Church but is just another one of the 800+ so-called “Christian” churches today that are churches of men containing many false doctrines of men mixed with doctrines of Christ.

      Donald Dodson .
Well stated . I grew up in a (Roman) Catholic home and went to a Catholic School for 8 years . Even though Catholicism is based upon the Eucharist , I never knew Jesus.
      Fast forward to today (52 y.o.) I ......????? , I don't know !!! I've thrown in the towel . I'm at a point in my life standing at a crossroads .
On 10/05/2020 , my Cousin Baptized me in His backyard pool. He suggested a Church in my area and when I went , they spoke in tongues and it really freaked me out. I haven't been back since. I read my Bible and wonder if I'm missing something . Almost like "am I getting ALL of what it (Bible) is trying to tell me" . At the same time , I'm reluctant to go to any Church in my area because of what you said in regards to withdrawals/ add ons.
But , more than that , for YEARS the Roman Catholic Church had it's "hand" in the Bible. I know this may sound cynical but , I've lost ALL faith in the Catholic Church not to mention the fact they , in their heads , WERE the ultimate authority.
      IE , Books , Scripture removed /???added? .
Which "Bible" is untarnished by those Bozo's ??? I guess is what I'm getting at !!
I'm a TOTAL introvert as well so , group gatherings aren't really my thing.
Sorry to lay ALL this on ya . Like I said , I'm at a crossroad here.

@@jimanderson699 My first though is you are still engaged to find God's Truth. That is great, and suggests to me that the Holy Spirit is at work raising questions in your mind, and is as close as you asking for instruction and help.
Realize the "Cannon of Scripture" was the result of many years of prayerful discussion about what should be included in the Bible. As you know, the various church traditions differ on what is "inspired" vs. what is historical but not inspired. For me, the entire Bible is designed to bring us closer into spiritually intimate Fellowship with the One True God, through the incarnation of Jesus, the Messiah-Christ, our Crucified and Risen Lord. Anyone or any writing that diverts us away from that goal should be set aside, in my opinion.
May I suggest you read through the Gospel of Mark, in a readable translation? There are absolutely none of the English translations that can capture the fullness, intricacies and subtleties of the original Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek. Each denomination or tradition within the greater real Church (aka the Body of Christ) recommends a translation to suit the boxes into which they want to squeeze God. The YouVersion Bible app lets you sample dozens of English versions. I use the New Living Translation (NLT), Second Edition, for getting the practical meaning of a passage. I use the New International Version (NIV) linked to a Hebrew - Greek "Interlinear" word for word translation and explanation of the original languages. In my opinion, "the best Bible translation is the one that is read and prayed everyday."
By the way, older does not mean "best," since older misses the centuries of scholarship and increased understanding of ancient manuscripts. Newest does not mean "best" for the reasons I just mentioned: each time a group splinters off, it gravitates to a favored translation and editorial bias.
Finally, I will be praying you find a comfortable version of the Bible that helps you experience the unshakable Love of God for you. Please pray for the help of the Holy Spirit as you sort out facts from fiction, and grow in understanding. This channel is a good place for practical Biblically accurate teachings. I greatly respect Brother Parr.
Finally (did I already say that ...;-) sample various online opportunities to be in a group comfortable for introverts. I really like The Alpha Course" online. God designed us to be in fellowship with other believers, but not necessarily all in the same noisy, loud, boisterous and hyped-up experience.
Jim, I pray you will find the answers to Who Jesus really is, and find the Peace that surpasses all human understanding (Philippians 4:4-7). God be with you in your search to Join Jesus on His Mission to redeem the world.

I have immense respect for you and the work you do. I am one who has benefitted from your teachings and this channel. I praise God for raising up people like you in this disturbing time that we live in.
With that said, I struggle to accept the fact that even though there are passages that would confirm the doctrines of eternal security, OSAS or perseverance of the saints, there are also passages that oppose these doctrines. John 15 stands out as one such passage. From a layman's perspective, and taking the passage at face value, It's very hard to read the 15th verse of that passage and come away believing that we can't loose our salvation because we're saved by grace through faith. This becomes even harder when you see, based on scripture, that faith is the conduit by which God requires His grace to be received by the saved. To deny this concept and claim that both Grace and Faith are supplied by God comes very close to the idea of universalism or at the very least limited atonement which declares that man is so depraved in his sin that he is unable to reach out to God and to repent of his sin. This would make John 3:16 which says that eternal life comes to all those that believe.
Salvation comes from grace through faith. The grace comes from God, there's no question about that. The faith comes from we, the believers. Our salvation is contingent on our faith in Christ and God's merciful grace. If we loose that faith, how do we continue in God's grace?
Joh 15:6 If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned.
Jesus said if anyone does not "abide" in Him..., which implies that they did remain with Him for a time but no longer do they....those people are branches, that wither, are gathered and thrown into fire. This does not sound like Jesus was a proponent of once saved always saved.
People fall away from the faith all the time. Especially in our modern culture of relativism. We also know that based on Matt 18:10-14 that we are important to Jesus and He will do everything to bring the lost sheep back to the fold. People aren't sheep though and while there are those that will return with Him, there are others who's hearts have been so harden by Satan and the world that they would rather condemn themselves to eternal condemnation refusing to believe, what I'll bet they know in their heart to be truth.

One thing that can be confusing that took me a while to learn is in order to be saved, You cant Just believe in God without Real Repentance. A lot of Christians say yeah the ONLY ONLY way to go to heaven is just to believe. But you also need to have a real repentance. And. Real Repentance is fully admitting with your mouth, mind, and heart to God youre a sinner, youre not perfect, and that youll allow God to take control and make changes for you. That is when He actually renews your strength, and literally give you the feelings of being washed because therell be bad habits that you just no longer want to do. That is when you have received Gods works and started a relationship with Him, which is very important.
Just because you say you believe, and you go to church, or you think youve prayed for forgivness, if you havent felt Gods change, and its still easy for you to stay in habitual sin, its best to assume you havent started your full intimate relationship with God.
And thats where most people get confused asking if “Do we have to Believe in God, and struggle to be perfect everyday by constantly battling our habitual sins?”
No because if you really believe in God, and youve made a REAL authentic repentance, God Himself will do the work of actually washing you from the sins youve been living, He will give you new strength to carry on from then, and youll literally have no desire or chronic withdrawals to do whatever you did before. Believing in God and making a full real repentance comes with intimate bible reading, intimate prayer, and intimate worship. And notice how I said intimate. It shouldnt feel like an obligation.
Just thought id share that clarification because all the videos ive watched has said one or the other. God bless everyone🙏🏽

I received the gift of tongues at 17 years old, but I grew up watching people labor in vain at the alter call on Sunday night, organ music playing, surrounded by people laying hands on them praying, hollering, speaking in tongues over them only to eventually walk away sad, ashamed and defeated. It hurts my heart when churches do this to people even though they mean well. The truth is, I have people in my inner circle who are better, more mature Christians with a deeper walk than I have and they don't speak in tongues. There is no way God will reject them just because they don't function in that particular gift.

Speaking in tongues is not something we as Christians have access to. Speaking in tongues comes from the Greco-Roman pagan mystery religions. It's not even mentioned in the earliest Gospel manuscripts we have. It was added later, most likely in an effort to compete with the cult of Dionysus who would also handle snakes and drink poison. That's where those strange verses come from at the end of Mark. You weren't given a gift, you're just mimicking what you've seen other do. You think it makes you special but the reality is your speaking gibberish and pretending like it's an ancient angelic language.

And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him,
      1 John 2:3-4
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
      Matthew 7:21-23
For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them. What the true proverb says has happened to them: “The dog returns to its own vomit, and the sow, after washing herself, returns to wallow in the mire.”
      2 Peter 2:20-22
For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses.
      Hebrews 10:26-28
No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God.
      1 John 3:6-9
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
      John 3:36
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
      2 Corinthians 5:17
And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons?
“My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord,
nor be weary when reproved by him.
6 For the Lord disciplines the one he loves,
and chastises every son whom he receives.”
7 It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline? 8 If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. 9 Besides this, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits and live? 10 For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, that we may share his holiness. 11 For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
      Hebrews 12:5-11

Crucify ur flesh and feed ur spirit then the holy spirit can hav fellowship wit u. If u keep feeding ur flesh ur spirit man will be weak and hence fall into numerous sins. I was raised in a church that IMPLIED that even if a person is saved that there is something missing from said persons relationship with God if said person doesn't speak in tongues. I was one of those "said persons". I struggled for YEARS thinking there was no way I was truly saved since I've never spoken in tongues. As a child I created a "tongue" just so adults would leave me alone about it. It was years before I read for myself and learned that tongues is one of the gifts, and that not everyone has that particular gift. Anyone in a position to lead someone to salvation who then makes that person feel like less of a Christian for not speaking in tongues is doing a disservice. I almost walked away from my salvation because of the pressure from others, including my parents, to speak in tongues. Now, in my 50s, I have no problem saying "I don't have that particular gift", and "Christian" people look at me like I was hatched from an egg. Shame on them.

You're not wrong in what you say but you're missing a part of it. Repent means to turn away from. Meaning to turn away from our sinful lives and turn to God. I know we are all sinners, that's why Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins. His death and ressurection didn't just forgive us of our sins, it sets us FREE from our sins. True repentance and true faith in Jesus Christ and what he did for us causes us to walk in obedience to his word. Jesus says that IF we continue in his word then we are truly his disciples. He also says that if we truly love him, we WILL keep his commandments. Meaning we will walk in obedience to God's word, his laws and his commandments. God's grace is sufficient for us and it is by his grace that we are saved through faith in his son Jesus Christ. We are saved by what Jesus Christ has already done. But that doesn't mean that we can continue to live our lives in sin. The Bible is clear that our love for Christ causes us to obey and we can be sure that we are his IF we keep his commandments. Our obedience is evidence that we are truly saved and that our faith is genuine. Just because God is gracious and has already forgiven us doesn't mean we can continue in our sinful ways. On the contrary, it causes us to walk in obedience to his commandments.

K Pelt we can’t have it both ways. Either His finished work on the cross is the final and full payment for sin, or we play a role in our salvation and it is not by faith apart from works. What you are saying is what most denominations and Christian cults share in common, that Christ does his part, and we have to do ours.
You will never not sin enough to be perfect enough to be holy enough to stand before God in perfect holy righteousness. That can only happen by Christ FINISHED work on the cross. Repent does not mean you must maintain a clean record for admission into the Kingdom.

    • @slappylippy
      @slappylippy 3 роки тому +4

@Justin Lim Fruit in what context.
Look, just basic logic here. If you believe professing believers will never know for sure if they are saved while here on earth, then the "Repent"=No more sins ever again, makes sense for awhile. Till you sin again, which you will, eventually. Then what? Well, then you confess, ask for forgiveness and start over.
It's either that way or professing believers are justified before God in heaven as a one time act upon faith/belief/trust in Christ's FINISHED work on the cross. THIS is the good news, this is THE Gospel of Jesus Christ.
I have walked back every scripture you would present that would support "repent"= No more sinning but every time I find out that the simplicity in Christ's work wins every time. Christians are justified once and sealed by the Holy Spirit as it says in, Ephesians 1:13 “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,”
Salvation is once and for all.

      @slappylippy 3 роки тому +5

@Justin Lim Ask yourself, what is the standard to be adopted into God's kingdom? Sinning very little or outright perfection?
      Answer=Perfection.
      This only happens 1 way.
The imputed righteousness of Christ's FINISHED work.
      There is no other way.
Hence: John 10:1 1"Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber.
Jesus is the gate. Only through His FINISHED work is one JUSTIFIED.

The Bible says that "the word of God is pure, and sharper than any two-edged sword" and the Bible knows the thoughts and intents of the heart, and no, the Bible doesn't specifically say that certain things are sin, but if you just say that, I can do basically anything I want! I could go to a rock concert, which I believe to be Christians trying to look like the world and sound like the world to win the world, when all the while the world is winning them. There's a spirit behind that music, and there's a spirit behind other things that aren't of God.
Things like secular music, CCM, night clubs, rock music, in the filth of this world, aren't specifically stated that you shouldn't do it. However, Romans 12:2 says "and be not conformed to this world." If what we wear, or listen to is conformed to this world, and I'm not saying we should all go Amish, what I am saying is that there should be a difference in Christians. In our spirit, and in our attire. "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever." 1 John 2:15‭-‬17 KJV. God wants us Sanctified, set apart, different. Yes, in our spirit, we should be different, but shouldn't our dress, our music, and our standards, we different also? I've grown up conservative, and I've seen the rules try to liberalize things such as a rock concert, and saying it's Christian. It's totally wrong. Cloning the world with Christianity.

The blasphemy of the Holy Spirit ( The Holy Spirit is GOD's personal presence- which is Holy and powerful) is rejecting the salvation gift from Jesus ( one of the works of The Holy Spirit is to convict the world- non-followers of Jesus- of their sins to lead them into repentance)

It is the sort of sin that issues from a heart so incorrigibly calloused that a person simply isn’t able to repent of it. * love how we look no matter how we look naturally because that's how God created us and

Just who are you going to blame when someone isn't healed? Because, usually, it's the person who's suffering. What are you going to say to the people dying from cancer? Or me? I'm terminally ill. God is able to heal me - but if His purpose in me being ill is greater - then I submit to His will, not the misunderstanding of someone who needs to grow more and do some proper study of scripture. We don't get Eden back until we are There, with Him. There is often more blessing and more power in struggle than in the perfection you are preaching - that clearly does not exist. That doesn't sound to me like "speaking things into existence", though. To do that would mean to create an object, or anything made of matter, out of nothing. Remember learning in school "matter and energy can only change forms, it is _impossible_ for new matter or energy to be created"? That is because only God can speak things into existence, and only He can create things out of nothing. Science tells a lot of lies, but 99% of the time it is nothing more than the observation and documentation of God's Creation. And that rule holds true, it never has been broken.
What you described sounds to me like God answering your prayers, not speaking something into existence.

I’ve heard some Christians believe that once they are saved they are now righteous and no longer sin and because they believe they are righteous and they have no sin they refuse to repent. I believe that once you have been saved you can still sin even unknowingly and you should always humble your self and repent no matter what.

This day was changed from Saturday to Sunday by Constantine. This is why GOD indicates in commandments REMEMBER THE SABBATH and keep it holy. Honestly, i feel frustated... I mean i am one of believer of The Christ... But there're couples of sins that i cannot deal with and win over them... Even i ask for the help of Lord... And i found a lot of people like me too who so hard dealing with the test of this world... Yes, mens are already fall to be sinned... Then maybe many of mens are going to hell, include Christians and Believers... This being so dillematic to me... We have to "fear of The Lord is the beginning of all wisdom (Proverbs 9:10)" ... The other side if i force myself to obey absolutely, then it would become "If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.(Corynthians 13:3)"... But yes, honestly i'm afraid to go to hell ... I've been so confusing about how much The Christ redeem our sin, how far our sin will be casted away and forgiven... Although i believe in The Lord ... In real life, there are still sins relevant in my life that is so hard to avoid ... it always repeated, make a sin, confess, make a sin again, confess again, that make me crazy, boring of this pattern and feeling ashame of myself ...

Hell is eternal but we won’t be eternally in hell. Eternal life is for Christians. Unbelievers will be punished then Die “second Death” Hell will be eternal because satan was already an eternal angel so it was created for him, we get thrown in with him but we die after a while he suffers in there forever.

I believe the danger here is people taking the power from God. The Bible is very clear that we are predestined before the foundations of the earth (Ephesians 1:4 Romans 8:29) that He is all-powerful and has chosen us to serve him. It is also very clear he has created vessels for destruction such as Judas and the language is very clear in Romans 9. Many times in the Bible (such as Saul as I have seen as an example) The Holy Spirit enters in and works in people and then leaves. God uses unbelievers as well. But it is very explicit in the Bible we cannot lose our salvation. As for Revelation and the book of life, in Revelation 13:8 it is stated God knows who will be in the book before He made the world. So who does Revelation 22:18 refer too? Well people who intentionally distort God's word, which is many many people. And John uses the illustration "blotted put" to show they will not be written in the Book of life at all.
