Stealth Camping Behind Home Depot

- I found an amazing spot to do a little stealth camping for the night behind a Home Depot! I brought out the hammock of course, but there were no proper trees to hang it. I used the hammock and camped directly on the ground as a bivvy sack to keep the bugs away and it worked fairly well. The MRE didn't work out too well because of an expired ration heater, but I did find some food in the area.

Hey Steve. There was a guy who has his own utube channel and credits you for saving his life. He has stopped drinking because he saw your videos and one video you did was at Walmart. You said if it’s 8am and your drinking you need to revalue your life. So he went camping. He is now 8 months sober bro. I pray all is well for you. Again I am so sorry about your wife. Don’t give up. You have changed peoples lives. Including mine. Thank you. Steve B.

Steve is great because he's the perfect combination of law abiding citizen and rebel. Somewhere along the way he got it into his head that stealth camping is the most wholesome and decent criminal act one can do and he's fallen in love. Where-as some men might go mad with mischief and forget themselves, you can tell Steve is always very self-aware and really has no interest in getting caught or doing anything terrifically outrageous. For Steve, he's just there for a bit of adrenaline, a bit of suspense and a beer or two.
Bravo, ol' chap, bravo.
to be fair, its not a criminal act at all, He's said so in other videos but basically his local laws dictate that its not trespassing unless there's a sign that specifically says no trespassing in that area or if someone tells him so. hes basically just doing a classier version of taking a nap on a park bench lol
Maybe sort of frowned upon, but law abiding nonetheless.
@@frailty7280 he said that was his “interpretation” and it was clear to me that was his alibi lol.
@@ryanking32 yeah his ‘interpretation’ of the law isnt how laws work 😂 however i doubt he would actually get in any real trouble for this lol he acts like hes really committing a serious crime and is always super paranoid like people care 😂 he scares himself for no reason lol
Perfectly worded.
I highly doubt stealth camping will get you in trouble. You will probably always get asked to move on, nothing less. This has happened to me twice when i camped on private land. But i have camped 100s of times on private wooded areas without anyone caring
As a trucker, theres no way i'd call security on someone homeless, let alone just camping lol.
Yeah, I don’t know if Steve was playing it up for fun or what, but there’s a zero percent chance that driver gave any shit what he was up to. Haha
Still, I think part of the thrill of stealth camping is trying not to be seen at all. I don't think most people would be mad at him (especially if he explained what he was doing), but getting seen would defeat the purpose.
Dont know where ur from bud, lol-but as a person with common sense, some people might-not saying you or I would; but there's plenty of people out there who call the police on more trivial stuff than this, like kids skateboarding or loitering in a parking lot-also there are signs posted just about everywhere these days that inform people near that what they're doing is technically illegal. On your side here, if I saw anyone crawling under a bush and hunkering down, either a stealth camper like Steve or a homeless individual, I'd just about never call the police-also not naive enough to think people won't; hence the stealth
@@vtpguitarist he probably thinks of these types of vids thinking about views: hes said multiple times he has trouble thinking of 'interesting' ideas for videos-not that his real base of subscribers would care all that much, but seeing as "stealth camping in: x" gets more views than your average vid, I'd say it's safe to say he's camping behind home depot/Canadian tire/a police station for us :) he's got a youtube channel, not everything the guy does is what he's actually doing all the time lol

Paddled down the Mississippi River, MN to NOLA. Army Corps of engineers created sand islands up and down the river with all the dredging operations. Made for perfect camping. I used to work at a private golf course and homeless people would camp out in the bushes near the course all the time. The wind , with 20 mph gust, was cold and relentless as I walked 75 north through Detroit. My objective was Northern mich but fatigue was taking its toll and decided I needed sleep, but the expressway I was walking offers nothing but concrete. Totally exhausted I came across an over pass. The only place out of the cold wind ,I found, was between the bridge colum and the guardrail, between two lanes of traffic. I just looked on Google maps! Ha! Wow, tiny work but more spacious than behind that sign. Now Steve, do like that pommy guy and find a roundabout or offramp circle to camp in the Middle of 😎
Should of got a coffee from Star Bucks. lol
Does it count as “meat and potatoes” camping if you pop into the pub fro the evening meal? This is one of the funniest he has done IMO. He looks the happiest he has looked in the last few months. A man truly in his element!
Yay it's Thursday and Stealth Camping with Steve!
@@OneHunnitNoCapStannitOnBidnisz 😆 🤣
Dammit dude, I’m tearing up one minute and the next I’m laughing out loud 😂. Having lost the second of five children, this happens from time to time at 51 and you offer me solace, I appreciate you.
You good?
Right on man! Your channel speaks to the inner child in me that was always wanting to camp in the most obvious places yet still be “wild” 😂 you the man!
Looks like the spot where Bubbles would harvest shopping carts.
I was hoping someone else noticed 🤙
It looks exactly like it
Okay who's Bubbles? I've seen a few comments mentioning 'Bubbles' ....
just say, he's peeing and doesn't want anybody to see his bird..😆
Omg that's *exactly* what I thought. Was waiting for some googly eyed bastard to start letting empty carts roll down the slope.
I stumbled across your videos just this evening. I've been watching them for the last few hours now. Brought back so many memories of my own when I was evicted from my apartment or ostracized from family due to my alcohol addiction. Curiously, I never considered it anything more than the next challenge. I never got involved with the police until I was discovered and charged with trespassing on two occasions at the same location. If you want an adventure this is it! Take care.
My favorite part is at 08:39, "the truck is leaving" the happiness on his face, priceless 🤣🤣🤣
I just happened across your channel and it fascinates me. You must not have many homeless people. As a formerly homeless person, used to camping out in the city, of course not as prepared as this. But now that I'm no longer homeless this looks like fun. Here in Colorado Springs, CO you could actually camp for a week before the hot team (police) run you out of your camping spot. The lessons you learn as a homeless person never leave ya...lol
"2x4's are about a million dollars right now..." lol Thank you Steve!
@@skinnflint Sooo wrong D C. Sooo wrong. That comment by lix made me laugh outloud!
It’s like Survivorman, but behind the Home Depot... Absolutely brilliant!
Hello Steve🥰 I am Native American. I live in a town Farmington, New Mexico in the United States. I enjoy watching your camping videos. I am hooked keep up what you’re doing. I do not find it nothing wrong with step two I’m 15 years sober and I enjoy what you do
I like to try and look up Steve's camp sites on Google Maps... Was very surprised to zoom in on this Home Depot and see "Camping with Steve" tagged in the area behind it and the Dairy Queen haha! Pretty cool. Love ya Steve mate!
Where is it?
Thursdays are quickly becoming my favorite day of the week. Much respect for your work ethic, creativity and dedication to your channel and your fans.
You look much happier than in old videos. I'm happy to see it! Also you seem more relaxed in videos lately.
Steve is a boss! I thought I was the best in world at being homeless but dude is 🐐
