@@StarHeaven07 nah not even that. I get the feeling she won't even have any protection or encryption to her bank account and she just straight up gets robbed.
@@StarHeaven07 Ghost in the Shell reference!? Well, I dunno if it's a real world scheme, but I first encountered it in GitS. I vaguely remember one charismatic antagonist in the anime pulled that off to fund whatever he wanted to accomplish.
I have to say, I really do enjoy the many, many ideas Matara comes up with, some of them being borderline Criminal, all for the sake of Content. If she ever gets serious about coding, the potential for her to either become rich by accident, or an international-criminal-on-the-run grow exponentially.
So long as she programmed in all the required fees and stuff it should be possible. And then I realized that naked options exist. Oh lord that could turn bad reaaaaaaal quick 🤣
The finance world is extremely complicated. There are a LOT of rules and regulations. Moreover she has fans from all over the world donating in different currencies. At the very least she has to let Twitch send the money to her banka account, and I imagine she would a ton of licencing, like much more than it's worth. I see this not flying after she consults the financial lawyers.
She could do it so that the purchases happen whenever twitch deposits money into her account. The money could be weighted against the total donation for the period and distributed based on what the person said when the donation is made.
There is nothing illegal persay with managing your own retirement fund, and she is not lying about the intent and use of that money. Mostly she has to deal with is the source (cause banks get really sus if someone's retirement plan is irregular payments,,especially small denominations) and the legalese and taxation of self-managed funds is a nightmare.
Okay I think I understand what she means. It's not a scam. She's letting her chat, pick her stocks for her because she doesn't wanna do it after a normal donation. Taking one step out. This sounds logistically hilarious and I don't think she can code it herself however lol
It's me, I'm the Evil Momo. But only for the lulz. Also Mata, please don't just us with stonks. I am good at them, but I will totally make picks for content.
Other streamers like DougDoug and Ludwig have done a version of this idea. Legally speaking I don't think this is a scam; but there can be many issues. Once the money is donated to Matara, and she pays taxes on that; its her money and she can do whatever she wants with it, including investing it (and paying fees on that if applicable). So as long as everything is handled right, it might be ok. The issues: The currencies that momos may be donating in, the access and security of her bank account + brokerage account, the laws around WHEN the donated money becomes HER money, the regulators checking the origin of her sudden investments and money etc
Everything sounds fine to me until she said “it’s like you play a fun game” - _Logan Paul’s zoo token immediately comes to mind_ Can you explain everything again, ma’am? I want to make sure I understand everything through and through.
She should write a program that takes the rounding difference in every transaction from every donation and transfers it to a separate account. And then go destroy a copying machine.
If se rate limits the donations to no more than 5-10usd, and set a total daily donation limit of something reasonable like 100-200 usd, and have the donation window set to a week, then close it and see how her trades go with a stop loss guardrail. if its stock you will have to monitor or someone monitor it for if some of it starts to crash you need to sell, like NIji stock once it was a safe bet, but now its toilet paper otherwise you will lose the money.
the whole point seems to be that the fanbase essentially becomes her open source investment firm so they would be the ones monitoring it, though she didnt say anything about allowing them to sell. Also it kind of doesn't matter if some stocks crash because the portfolio wouldnt be funded from some central shared source and the people funding it are not expecting any return from this. For Matara, the only potential beneficiary of this, if a stock does well then thats free money if it does poorly then its no loss, For the momos the money was already gone the moment they sent it so all they lose is the potential praise they could have gotten from Matara for picking a good one.
Full break matara what you are talking about is a Roth account I advise you to go to a professional. So a Roth is a account you put money in to start investing in stock, the professional takes that money and invests it for you in stocks that make decent money long term like penny stocks that way if the market sucks you don’t take as big of a loss any money that stock does make can be pre taxed and put back into the Roth. So when you retire at 60 plus, you don’t pay taxes on that Roth when you take out the money. Roth accounts takes years so like with mine I started with 3,000 like decade later it’s up to 30,000 and sometimes it does go up or down in that Roth depending on the stock market. You can also have more then one Roth. Go to a professional office do lots of research
Matata learning to program.... And shes going to immediately code involving money.... This will end well.
"Okay so like, the program takes the fractions of pennies that get like, normally just rounded off, and puts them all into an account..."

Tara, Mint please don’t get arrested.
Ice Poseidon's first mistake was not being an anime girl. The second was trying to run an actual Ponzi scheme.
I'm pretty sure every single claim made about the law in this video is incorrect. I'm impressed.

Keep her away from Japan!

Matara should just buy niji and holo stock and watch them race.

It does sound like Matara is looking to commit tax fraud and just deciding how

Matara trying to make a 401k but somehow make it a scam.
This should be completely illegal, I don't really see anything wrong with it. I've even asked a couple professionals, and it should be perfectly fine.

Good thing she is asking lawyers beforehand, because any tax agent that looks into this will think it is money laundering

You definitely don't need to monitor the stock. It could be restricted to S&P500 or something and selling in a dip is largely pointless anyway.
