If so, in that case, what has been the minimum investment which you have seen approved? Or does it depend on the type of franchise? Thanks very much!
Hi Mariana, Investing in a Franchise can work for an E2 visa! I would aim to invest at least $100,000 or more.
Signing a lease agreement is counted as substantial investment? 24 months x $2000 = $48 000 commitment?

Thanks for the info.. one question about your first client that once his visit visa expired then will he get his E2 visa inside USA (since he got only change status)? or he must have to leave USA before the expiry of his visit visa then he would need to apply his E2 Visa from Pakistan?
Hi Hafiz, to get the actually visa, he would have to go to a consulate or embassy outside of the U.S. and attend a visa interview. You cannot get a visa in the U.S. (only status).

Hi, I am a Canadian Citizen and interested in E2 visa. Just one question, Will it play a positive or negative impact for the fact that my son is a US citizen (Born in US) while i was on H1B visa in US during 2013?
So if I purchase 100% of an existing business, the seller will obviously pocket the money. Would I then have to invest another substantial amount into the business or would they accept that as an investment?

Dear Ashoori. I watch your videos regularly and thanks for posting these. I have a question. My immigration category is F4 and Priority date is September 2009. But I am not able to track my case. System is asking for a16 digit Invoice ID. What should I do ? I have old 9 digit invoice ID as my application was submitted as paper based.. I have not received any communication Since 2010. Is this a thing to worry? Please advise how to move forward. Thanks

Sir you didn’t mention about obtaining an ITN. It’s not possible to open a bank account without an ITIN

What If am self-employed/own a small business (3-5 employees)? Can I start a service based agency (a video production company for example) while visiting the US, THEN apply for a visa for a longer stay? A 50-100k invsestment seems excessive & unecessary for my case. Which visa is the best option for smaller investments? (If there is any?)
I don’t understand the E2 Investor visa. Can you put $50,000 in to any business already running? And if so with that $50,000 how much ownership would it require you to have of that business?

Hi Sameh, the money does not need to come from your home country. Someone in the U.S. could gift the money to your U.S. personal account, if done properly.
also since US based universities and colleges are badly hit during the COVID19, is it possible to invest in some of these universities / colleges as an E2 visa applicant?

No, you can tell your father to sell that business and gift that money to you and then you can reinvest that money in different business to qualify for E2 visa

Hi Rashed, it really depends on the specific details of the case. A laudromat business can meet the E2 requirements or if it is too small its possible that it could be considered marginal. It really depends on the specifics of the business. We have gotten an E2 case approved for a client that operated a laundromat
