Thanks for posting. I purchased Bosch brand O2 sensors. After watching this video, I exchanged them for NTK.
Not a problem Lloyd, hope you sorted your issue.
Hey mate .. fixed the car 🚗 oxygen sensor saved me !! Thanks mate .. Aussie in LA
Yay! Good to hear it’s sorted for you.
Thanks for the video Darryl, I have a 2013 Jeep Wrangler and I have been having issues with it too, it just stops when I slow down at a traffic light or anywhere and then turn it back on, and boom, no problem.. I changed one of the O2 sensors, but will scan it again and look up the other ones.. thanks again man.. JEEP WRANGLER as a company should help us out with this, because i have seen a lot of Jeep Wrangler Owners having the same issue. Some have changed all the O2 sensors and more and still having problems with their vehicles.. good luck man..
Well after changing the 02 sensors and the sensors on the throttle body. Changing the spark plugs sorted it. Now it's running like a new one and getting better fuel consumption as a side effect. Keep at it, you'll get it sorted!
You have the same year model as mine
Hi Darryl, tanks for all the infos , i looking for good cata replacement , can you tell me part number because at the y pipe connection , the pic i see at maganflow website and what i see in your hand dosen't match.

Hi, I am new to your channel however I found this video very helpful as I have the same jeep that you have. I have a 420 check engine code and I want to replace my whole cat converter but iam afraid I don't really need to and it might just be a sensor. What kind of further diagnostics should I do? Thanks for the help!!👍🏾
PS: after the you switched the converter, and the light came back on, what did you do to get rid of the check engine light?
If you are tossing up between 02 sensor and cat replacement. Do the 02 sensors firstly as they are cheapest part, then if the still have the issue, replace the cats.
Hi. Question on the job. It appears you can get to both flanges from underneath. Is that true?
Yes, its a bit tight to access though. Spray the nuts with penetrating oil prior to trying to remove them also.
Trying to change the rear main seal. Just need to drop the muffler/ exhaust pipes down to remove oil pan. Any suggestions? Flange or Cat bolts.
I'd do the cat bolts as they are easier to get to.
Hi Darryl
I’m getting a PO133 error , which is a Bank 1,Sensor1 error. Do you have video on how to replace theses. Looks like I need to remove the entire throttle body ?
A new video to replace these would be great
Hey Rob, Bank 1, Sensor 1 you get to from underneath the vehicle. It's above the front most cat. Easiest to access if you undo and let the cats drop but have a look and make the call for yourself. Remember, give them a good soak with your favourite penetrating spray before trying to undo them. I'd also do all of the sensors just so you know you don't have to touch them again. Remember TJ's are a bit picky with what brand o2 sensors are fitted so NTK if at all possible. Hope that helps Darryl
Hi Darryl, I have a 2003 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon also, Did you clear all the codes when you went back together? If you did then the next step is you have to drive it at least 100 miles or the codes will come back sometimes. How many miles have you put on it since the repair? I love your channel I bought sway bar disconnects after watching your video, great mod. You just got another subscriber.
Hi Brad, thanks for the message. Yes, have driven a lot of miles at this point and have some progress with cleaning up the earth points but still ‘occasionally’ getting the stalling/hesitation symptoms.
Oh and have cleared codes etc
@@DarrylSheather I'm sorry, what do you mean by "cleaning up the earth points" ??
A possible issue is either the ECU or the earthing of the wiring loom (that includes the ECU wiring). Have been cleaning up the earth points on the firewall and engine block.
@@DarrylSheather Make sure to check the fuel pressure I've had a fuel regulator go bad, The fuel pump in the tank...
Is there a part number for that cat?
Try the TSB 25-001-07 fix. There were two wiring diagrams in 05-06 models. The first one had a relay in the PDC for the 02 heater and one without. The one without uses the ASD and fuel pump relays, which is the issue. This project requires some cutting and crimping/soldering of wires to correct the problem. Everyone I know who has performed this has said it resolves the IM readiness issue. I’m planning to do the same to my 2006 Jeep Wrangler X this weekend. I’ve driven it over 500 miles and it is still not ready. Never had this problem before and I’ve never had an engine light come on in the six years I’ve owned it. The link where I found my information is: https:www.northjerseyjeepclub.org/forum/~-read-only-for-guests-~/jeep-tech/3513-solution-for-2005-06-tj-lj-o2-sensor-heater-not-ready
Thanks but ended up a that new set of spark plugs sorted the issue. Go figure.
Performing this TSB on my 06 LJ fixed my situation. My emissions readiness tests would not complete causing my jeep to fail local emissions testing.
Whats up Darryl..I have a 2000 Jeep Wangler and the engine light came on and it saying that the Code P0135 (Oxygen sensor heater relay) needs to be replace. My question to you is what is a heater relay. I went to the part store and they issue me part# 23099 for Bank 1, Sensor 1. You said that bank 1, Sensor 1 is part#23018 so if 23018 is for Bank 1,sensor 1, why they gave me part # 23099. can you please help me out also I want to replace my catalytic converter and the section that holds all the sensors, can you tell me which part that i need to buy for my 2000 jeep wangler.
Hi Marcolo, Your 2000 model is slightly different to my 2006 version. These are the part numbers for your TJ, hope it helps. 2000
NGK #23122 - Bank 1, Sensor 1 (Upstream)
NGK #23506 - Bank 2, Sensor 1 (Upstream)
NGK #23099 - Bank 1, Sensor 2 (Downstream)
NGK #23099 - Bank 2, Sensor 2 (Downstream)
What's up Darryl.. Why is that both downstream sensor have the same part # and I ask you to help me with the front section cat that holds the sensor and also the rear cat that connects to the front cats. Which is the parts # that I need to buy for both. Is the part # on sensor different in every states or countries. I live in Reading, Pennsylvania (USA). So are you telling me the parts # that you sent me is the correct parts # (O2 sensor) for my 2000 Jeep Wrangler, if it is then why they gave me part # 23099 Bank 1 sensor 1 (upstream) and you saying that the part # 23099 is for both downstream, I'm confused. Need help please
What's up. Can you tell me if those parts # that you sent me are for federal or Cali emissions
What did you pay for the catalytic converters
Can't remember but they are from Magnaflow in the US
I may be mistaken but earlier in this video it seems that you said sensor positions were as follows:
Bank 1 Position 1-1 23018 Position 1-2 23160
Bank 2 2-1 23159 2-2 23158
With the understanding that Bank 1 is closest to the radiator...
It appears to me that you installed sensor 23159 in position 2-2 and it should have been installed in 2-1 according to your narrative. Additionally it appears that you installed sensor 23158 in position 1-2 when it should have been installed in position 2-2 per your narrative. I have no idea what you may have actually installed in positions 1-1 and 2-1 since you don't say.
Sorry to nit pick but if my observations are correct, that would most likely be the basis of your ongoing problem.
You had me concerned so had to go back and watch again. All fitted fine remember the cat manifold goes as pictured, slightly forward and under the oil pan to the other side of the engine block before going to the rear of the vehicle. Jeeps working really well now too!
Aussie living LA .. decoder saying needs catalytic converter issue code 420
02 Sensors need replacing maybe.
Hey Mate .. I have had replaced the air and crank sensor for now !! The oxygen is the next thing !!! Luff the sound of Aussie birds !! Thank you for the reply !!
sara bailey no problems!
Mate .. if you need parts LMK .. Aussies stick together 😊👍🏻🇦🇺
So the question is what fixed it ?
I think there were multiple issues to start with. However the one that cleared up the rest of the codes and stopped the occasional stumbling was a set of new plugs.
@@DarrylSheather I had p0300 and definitely where my plugs also . I took to long to change my plugs then normal I surpassed a hole year 1 1/2 😅
You don’t need a code reader your Jeep already has its own ... all you need to do is turn on 🔑 then off 3 X and at the last leave it ON and look at the Odometer I’ll give you the code !
But that just gives you the error codes, you then have to search what the codes are. The app gives you the code and what the code is.
