    I love the podcast, but what i enjoy most is how much Jordan loves the podcast. His laugh is fantastic. Keep being you man
    man i cannot fathom not wanting to share with my wife.
    I love sharing with my wife, she gets such a smile when she tastes good food and it makes me smile. Every meal we go out we always share, even sometimes when she's split on two meals i get one of them and give her half of my meal and she gives me half of hers.

    To the people arguing that the AI husband was using all the tools available to make his vows the best they could be - he didn't. He used one tool. His vows weren't the best they could be, since his wife noticed it didn't sound like him. He could've fixed this by using a second tool: himself.

    To the first story: I like this comparison to using templates and such as tools for writing stuff. Similarly I'd think, it's ok to use AI, *IF* you actually use it as a tool to improve your own work. Not as a complete substitute for your own brain/ hands.
    To the second story:
    I'm a soup defender ever since I got to know a certain food place that specialized in them. They made soup rich and filling enough that a single bowl could get you through the whole day. And that's coming from someone, who can eat a lot...Like, if you take me to some all you can eat buffet, you should bring a lot of time.
    So I always get a bit upset when people talk about soup like it's not a real meal. There is a chance that these six bowls of the story actually were a whole feast in disguise.
    With that said....for the sake of all that's good, learn to share! And learn some modesty while you're at it.
    The best part about getting food from a restaurant (especially if you aren't familiar with it) is sharing the spoils, letting others taste the good stuff and making it a great experience for everyone. Also, even if you're hungy, you don't have to fill yourself up to the brim everyday to survive. When they listed all the things they got, it sounded like they easily could have put all the soup and BBQ together and lived off it for the next 3 days or so.

    In relation to the discussion about last week, I think MBT gets a detail wrong that potentially paints the situation as more sinister than it may actually be.
    He says that the wife asks for the Instagram post to get taken down and Amanda refuses. The wife *did not* ask her to do that. She reached out to Amanda with the intention to do so, but seemed to refrain from asking after talking with her.

      @@alejandropuma6734 And that's fine, autism is a spectrum for a reason, my only point is that some people could find themselves in this kind of situation without ill-intentions and without being "stupid". the first guy is obviously and staggeringly in the wrong, but to perhaps delve into the head of a dumbass and understand why they do what they do- I have close family members *kind* of like the OP- in the specific sense that they love cards for holidays and birthdays and stuff. It's genuinely made me hate cards and similar expressions. it's not a logical response, and dumb guy is *obviously* wrong, but I can understand if husband was in a place where he's not a good writer (as evidenced by the 'it didn't sound like him' comment) and made the stupid, wrong decision to slip a shortcut for one of the most important things you'll ever write to one of the most important people you'll ever write to.
    Not defending the guy in the slightest, understanding someone's behavior doesn't automatically excuse it, but there can be an amount of 'oh, man, you chose the worst dialogue option for this terrible conversation' rather than just 'what a fuckin douche'. or maybe there can be both idk

    Nono, the point is not "why can't be they be friends", the problem is "WHO CARES?". Let him have the date if it's accidental, who cares, do you have to be that controlling to impose on your partner to not go out with whoever. If you trust him, what's the problem? Also the photo, who cares? It's the girl fault for faking like if he was her new boyfriend, certainly not the guy's fault

    • @FroggyDoo
      @FroggyDoo 5 місяців тому +9

      I feel like your point would be better if you didn't straight up say "Who cares if he had a date with another woman?" That's generally not a thing you do while you're married lol.

    • @XCATX25
      @XCATX25 5 місяців тому

      @@FroggyDoo Exactly, "GENERALLY". Let's fucking stop living with rules of society and let's start live with OUR rules, the rules that really benefit us and the future generations, let's rewrite them. My wife and many of my friends give ZERO fucks about their husbands/wives going out with other women/men.
      What the fuck is a date by the way? If dating is by definition going out with a person that you have interest that go beyond friendship, I can agree, but it's clear from the guy's intentions that's not the case, and she was informed ALL THE WAY THROUGH about the "date" of what was happening.
      The problem imho with the fight was the photo, and the wife not being able to cope with her own insecurity, because gosh, she knew about it, and HER FRIEND is faking it like they are boyfriend/girlfriend, it really doesn't make sense to get angry with the husband

  • @Kirinmon
    @Kirinmon 5 місяців тому

    I gotta play devil's advocate for AI guy too. Writing is hard, man. The woman says she loves getting cards, presumably hallmark, but the words the husband said weren't good enough because it was AI? What's the difference? I feel like AI is just a boogeyman here and popular to hate. Also I doubt it was 100% verbatim the gpt vows. He didnt ad lib even once? Yeah, sure, lady. She can be mad about it though, that's fine. The guy could've used other resources if writing them was too difficult for him. If the husband meant what he said though ultimately it doesn't matter

    • @ARadiantHero
      @ARadiantHero 5 місяців тому +7

      Even if he is bad at writing, that's not the point. I'd much rather a poorly written marriage vow that came from the heart rather than something made artificially. It's not about making the most eloquent vow you can, nobody is looking for that. It's about feeling loved, something you can never reciprocate using an AI regardless of the sentiment.

    • @fameshark
      @fameshark 5 місяців тому +3

      The difference is that the wedding vow is supposed to signify the sentiment of the marriage. Like, some people don't wanna get married, and that's cool, but if you're at the point where you /are/, it is the time, above all times, to demonstrate how much you care for your partner. You have your loved ones, their loved ones, watching as you tell them and your soon-to-be spouse how much they mean to you, and the product of that is AI generated content? And you're claiming it to be your own? It feels so empty on the behalf of the husband. It's soulless. It would be like hiring an author to write your vows because you couldn't be bothered to come up with anything. The issue is not in the technology itself but how detached from the gesture it feels. Dude would've been more truthful in his feelings if he had his voicemail recite "I do" at the altar.

    • @FroggyDoo
      @FroggyDoo 5 місяців тому +2

      "Also I doubt it was 100% verbatim the gpt vows. He didnt ad lib even once?"
      Are you telling the wife that she's wrong about what her husband said in their vows?

    • @t-vann48
      @t-vann48 5 місяців тому

      The problem with AI writing is the same problem with like AI art, those arent your fuckin words. Like if you turned in a paper for school written by AI, you would get a 0. Because you didnt write a fucking paper. There is a difference between like getting the opinion of a friend and having him help you put your feelings into meaningful statements and inputting into chat gpt "write me wedding vows" the first shows love and care, it takes effort and maybe even could be a little embarrassing. The willingness to put in the work is what shows how much you love someone. The second is a cop out because you dont actually care enough to try to be personal.
