Hi everyone! Just want to let you all know that Jeff is hunting on our new property this morning, which unfortunately, he won’t have cell service. He will most definitely try to answer any and all questions just as soon as he can. Thank you for watching and I wish all of you a happy hunting season! Good luck today, babe!!

@@dianesturgis470 ... oh wow.. I knew you guys were in Wisconsin, but I didn't realize how applicable Jeff's advice is. I'm in Rochester, MN and I hunt a little closer to the WI/MN border so Jeff's information is so applicable to me. I'm a first year bow hunter, first year hill country hunter. Please tell Jeff his videos have helped me so much by teaching me how to go about scouting for deer in this area... Thanks again for what you guys do for the hunting community!

Took a 2 x 5 tonight. Suddenly noticed the daytime temp didn't get over 52 today. Been up around 60. Hit the stand around 5. Just after 6 had a spike come in. He stood at 25 yards for the longest time just looking off. I kept looking over, but didn't see anything. He suddenly moved off past me. Looked behind me to the left and saw what I though was a big 8 and two other deer I never got a good look at. All 4 deer went off out of sight. I hit the bleet can twice and then a couple grunts. What I thought was the big 8 came back into 27 yards and stood broad side. He ended up being 5 on one side and 2 on the other. My first Buck ever at 47 years young. Love your channel. Thanks,

Love your channel .... I had a hypothesis about when I’d see big bucks glad to see your confirming my hunch..
And started staying out of my sets about 10 yrs ago when the weather wasn’t on my side...and my man cave has 7 bucks hanging on the wall all over 150” because of it... you just showed me a couple more days I didn’t think about , like hunting heavy winds... I stayed out of the stand on those days...

Really appreciate all the information you provide to us through your channel and website Jeff. Every video you do is packed with information, and I love it. I was born and raised in Los Angels, California. Moved to Moorhead, Minnesota and hunt West Central Minnesota. Never had family who hunted, so I had to do my own research. Found your channel and just nabbed my first Buck last Saturday in the first 2 hours of firearm opener. Nice 6 pointer. Had a chance to shoot an 8 pointer with a bow this season, about 15 yards off my stand, but got too excited and overshot. Living in Minnesota, I feel like your conditions are very similar to us, so I’m subscribed and watched every video you have at least once if not twice. Keep up the great work, you’re quite literally teaching hundreds if not thousands of generations of deer hunters by the work you do. 👍🏼🦌

So I put this method to the test scouting today. Since yesterday, temps dropped 13 degrees, pressure rose into the 30’s, and wind dipped from 15 to 4 mph. Tonight while scouting I saw MORE deer and MORE mature bucks in daylight than I have all season so far. Mr. Sturgis, hunting the weather like this, to me, looks more promising than hunting with “red moons” and such that I also have tested.
Thank you. Hopefully I’ll get my first buck this year

Had an awesome morning yesterday. Saw 2 huge buck walking to my stand.Hit a nice 8pt at 7:05 on the ground at 23 yards. Looked for 7hours.Never laid down.Hit him too far forward. Ran out of small drops of blood after 250 yards.Really sucks ..But it happens to all of us..Tomorrow is another day..Big ones are moving in Pa.

I haven't seen you mention it in this, or another video of yours I've watched(or comments) so I'll say it.. Weather Underground has a feature on the app that allows you to choose set conditions (B-press, temp, wind speed, gusts, cloud cover etc.), and you can select values of your ideal(or "acceptable ") conditions, and it will graph the conditions hourly for each day. Long line=good, no line equals condition not met, short line=less than ideal. It's pretty awesome and a good visual to go along with your "circled" times/dates.

I told you earlier in the year I was confident just based on how I manicured our 15 acres around your videos. Shot my first buck 13 days ago and also a big doe 6 days later. Not a huge buck but I’ll tell you what, I couldn’t be prouder, You’ve changed EVERYTHING for me sir! Thank you so very much....,, hope you’re keeping your chin up and hope your doing ok. Of all the topics that you’ve covered over time, this has to be my favorite! The adage, “When temp and pressure meet, deer are on their feet” has been a key focal point to my hunts for a time now, but if I’m “missing 1/2” the opportunities to hunt with this dictum, I guess I need dig deeper into weather. I’ve watched this video a couple of times and it covers a lot of info quickly…I’ve had trouble sifting out the kernels of knowledge that highlight those goods days where temp and pressure aren’t the only factors. Can we go through that again a little slower maybe 🤔?

North Carolina/South Carolina next Friday, Saturday (Nov. 1-2) is looking good. Good temp drop and, as you said, that pressure and temp are coming together, actually overlapping those two mornings. Between that and the good underfoot moon that first full week of November, I'd say we'll see some nice ones coming in November 1-9.

I don't check the weather with apps. I check the SPC day 1 and check the National Weather Service forecast, their predictions are alot better than AccuWeather or Weather Bug. When it comes to radars I use Radar Scope. I'm a storm spotter, I'm fairly good at telling when to get the heck off my stand and when I'm ok to get in it lol

How do you successfully play the wind when hunting deep on public land and also no spread scent all over the woods with potential of possible bedded buck that could have come past your stand? I've become very confident in my topography map reading and finding benches and that most definitely where I'm finding the most buck action. I.e scrapes and rubs. I wanna learn more about how to set stands according to winds and thermals. That's been my largest learning curve in 12yrs of hunting here in NC. Currently have branched out and started ohio public land hunting first time was 2nd week of October 2021 and actually was very proud of the work I put in. Seen 3 bucks total and 4 doe. But these where all young bucks I want to have the most knowledge I can before entering back into ohio 1week of November. Thanks it's Currently 12a.m and I've been watching you're videos since about 7:30pm. I'm addicted and pushing myself to try learn this and follow along.

What are your thoughts of getting out there early before they “wake up” like 4:30am then sitting until 10am on good weather days like this? Or should it all depend on the day? I know the neighbors come out at about 5/6am with the atvs EVERY year religiously.

Before I thought you said just the lows are the next morning but this video you said Sunday's high is actually Monday's high? What is this reasoning for this offset of days? In other words look when temp and pressure move together?

They almost always will. He doesn't factor Bar press hardly at all. This is because, for instance, north wind high pressure systems bring cold air(temp changes), and increase in pressure. They are almost synonymous. So, if you have a 15-20 deg temp drop, you will always have an increase in pressure (high pressure systems from north). Maje sense?

I differently need schooling about weather and other deer tactic I Remember 23 years ago I was hunting in Lewinston MI with a friend we had these walkies talkies from Radio Shack head phone I remember someone telling me about if your see a doe and her tail doesn't flips up a Buck is near by well all of a Sudden out of the pines here walks out the biggest Ten Point I have ever Seen It was a Cold Day I can't remember if there was any wind blowing but the was snow on the grow and I was sitting on a Old fallen tree, This big Ten Pointer walked right by me without seeing me sitting on it because I didn't move a inch I had the opportunity for a broad side shot but because It was my first time hunting Buck fervor sat in the ten Pointer was 8 steps away from me if I had a camera you would believe what I encounter that wintered day as I turned to shoot him 3 step he was gone a chance of a life time getting my First Buck Sense that I have seen a 4 pointer and then a lot of doe's

Ryan Feldman just in my personal experience I’ve always paid more attention to change than any particular degree. Like if you have rain for 2 days solid then the third is dry and sunny. I’ve always had a lot of luck hunting that first change day. Hope that helps you some. I’m not near Jeff’s caliber of hunting or skill but just sharing my personal experiences.

The hardest part about hunting is when you have multiple stands on the property and can’t decide which one to go to. Lol 😳🤦🏻‍♂️

Just a FYI, don't believe a damn thing a weather man or one of those weather websites says. You'd be MUCH better off relying on the old time ways of getting an idea of what the weather will do.

I'm sorry dude but the rest of us have actual jobs that don't let us pick and choose which days we hunts. We dont hunt for a LIVING. We hunt when we CAN. Thanks for being precocious though
