I drove a Marmon between 1987 & 91 mine had a 100 mph speedo and it saw triple digits often, that baby rolled down the road like glass. One of the best trucks I have ever driven over the years.

One day management came to me saying we are going to start building sleepers for Marmon trucks and you are going to oversee it. My first delivery to Marmon in Garland, Tx i couldn’t believe it. Several quonset huts is all i saw and thats where trucks were built, hand made at that.
There's a guy here in western Pennsylvania that has a tri-axle log truck. He's had it since it was new. His father bought it for him when he graduated from high school. Runs it everyday. Exley is his last name.
My dad tried to work a deal on one in around 1989-90. It was a cherry red 60" flat top in Reading Pa. The deal never came together and he ended up buying an anteater Kenworth. I was 15 at the time and still remember seeing it and hoping so much for my dad to get the deal.

Any cat mechanics care to comment about the springs he’s referring to? I wish you guys would’ve brought the nose over because I wanted to see if it was ECM or mechanical. If it was mechanical, then the springs are you referring to could have been in the automatic timing, advance or the torque springs in the mechanical pump. This also could have meant that the factory installed a mechanical version of the 3406B, which would have been unusual for 1996. But possible with Marmon.
At one time when I first started driving I thought how cool it would be to run over 100 mph in a truck but today where in the hell can you run that fast with the potential dangers? Traffic, road surface, tire structure. You try hot rodden down the road and before you know it you got 15-20 idiots behind pushing you honking to pass. Retired now from trucking 43 years. My 900a with kta525 with 793 to rear tires would take a load of logs to over 100 mph no problem , but running bobtail at silver state classic legal road race from interstate 80 battle mountain nevada to austin nevada 86 miles it had pressed to pull120 mph down hill yes - up hill no .
they where every bit capable of reaching speeds of 120 or better,, but you had to have a knowledgeable cat mechanic,, manifold pressure , fuel pressure , all had to come together
I had a friend that had one built in 94 and it would run over 120mph I owned a 91 379 Pete turned wide open and he could out run me so I know it’s true plus he also had a video of the truck get built
Bruce Mallinson at Pittsburgh Power used a Marmon as a testbed for a lot of the innovations he came out with for the 855 Cummins. They can be fast for sure. I really doubt 120 is possible though on level ground. The speedometer and even the tach might have said it but that don't mean much. The cd is poor and the frontal area is massive - so I really doubt even 2000 hp would be able to overcome it. Now, if you did some aero tricks who knows? Maybe a lot more than 120! What was Tyrone Malone running? And unfortunately it doesn't pay to build stuff right. Marmon is out of that business. It almost seems like every business has learned that and therefore quality these days is severely lacking.

I am very curious as to how high it would be revvin to hit a buck 20 with 3.55 gears & a 15 over..? My Pop's 81 Pete had an A model Cat, 15 over & 3.90's and topped out at 72mph at 2100 revs
That model marmon was the worst truck they ever made. I had one just like that and the front windshield pillars cracked all the way thru. They wouldn't warranty it because it was the last model they made. I had several marmons and that last model was junk
Not even going to watch the video. Just have to say it is no big deal to go 120 mph. Right gearing in transmission and axles and tire size. Anything can go that fast. The trick is having one that can also pull the hard mountain grades faster than the rest. These truck vids are 90% b s. 43 years of driving my own trucks here. My fastest one was 127 mph. Only did it once back in the 80s to shut up a a big mouth

I drive a 2019 Cascadia it won't do that with the side door. I know that for a fact. Because I tried it after watching the video.
Amazing video, you work for 40yrs to have $1M in your retirement, meanwhile some people are putting just $10K into trading from just few months ago and now they are multimillionaires
Waking up every 14th of each month to $210,000 it's a blessing to I and my family... Big gratitude to Ann Marie strunk🙌🏼
Hello, I am very interested. As you know, there are tons of investments out there and without solid knowledge, I can't decide what is best. Can you explain further how you invest and earn?
Same, I operate a wide- range of Investments with help from My Financial Adviser. My advice is to get a professional who will help you, plan and enhance your management skills. For the record, working with Ann Marie strunk, has been an amazing experience.
Hello how do you make such monthly?? I'm a born Christian and sometimes I feel so down of myself because of low finance but I still believe in God
I'm favoured, $90K every week! I can now give back to the locals in my community and also support God's work and the church. God bless America,, all thanks to Ms Ann Marie strunk😊
Google it LMAO
I am very curious as to how high it would be revvin to hit a buck 20 with 3.55 gears & a 15 over..?
My Pop's 81 Pete had an A model Cat, 15 over & 3.90's and topped out at 72mph at 2100 revs
That sound s realistic
My Dad had a marmon cab 0ver he pulled mobile homes
My dad's Ole cat powered w9 they hooked it up to the computer we went about 140
