Great video Mike. Enjoyed the scrapyard tour. All those trucks..where they been..etc. If those trucks could talk - the stories they could tell. Looked like a awesome show thanks for sharing it !!

O-H-I-O Porters🇺🇸 The Tackaberry Boneyard…WOW! Is sure to give you a sentimental moment or two!! You don’t like Generals? Shocker!! They look so cool when cleaned & painted up properly! I almost bought one when I was about 14. Well, I really wanted to. I even talked to the rep & specked one out…with a big sleeper. I now wish I would’ve bought it & just kept it in the garage…for myself! The set-back axle IH cabover is cool, but I find it hard to climb in & out of! Lots of nice old trucks & equipment. Cadillac row…WOW! Many things that I didn’t expect! I’m sure you enjoyed yourself there! I would love to take a LONG stroll there…cabovers & all! I think the Hendrickson trucks are cool & unusual! Thanks for the sentimental trip! Blessings my friend! Be safe! 🥰🤩✌️
Brought back some memories, Mike! My dad had some old Loadstars I used to run, an old 69 GMC 7500 with a huge six cylinder gas engine, and an old 50’s/60’s R200 International I remember riding in as a kid. And the old R models!
Hai Mike wat een indrukwekkende mooie video met schitterende mooie beelden van oldtimers trucks goede uitleg over de trucks ik heb ervan genoten bedankt ervoor gr carel uit holland
“Tacks Toys” is the premiere truck collection in eastern Canada if not all of Canada. Had the privilege of a full tour with our car club from Kemptville a couple years ago
You were right about that cabover being an Emeryville. Actually the conventional next to it is also an Emeryville. I put a lot of miles on a 64 Emeryville cabover w/250 Cummins & 12 speed Spicer. Quite the classic ride back in the early 70’s.
I drove a few ford 9000's. They were nothing special but I loved the dash layout. everything was in the right place and you could see every gauge. In 1983 I learned to drive in a GMC Astro with a Detriot v-8. It was a lot of fun. I Drove a General flatbed while doing towing and recovery. I didnt get enough time behind the wheel to to get attached to it. I worked for Mack for 30 years. They sent tons of old trucks down to South America. The idea was to keep selling parts. That Astro at 19:10 looks to nice to be in a boneyard. Too Bad! Thanks for the walk around! Regards from Ody Slim
@@TheBostonTrucker Yeah. Actually the first truck I ever drove was my uncles logging truck. He wouldnt let me shift tho~ A 1957 Kenworth triple stick. it had ( I think ) a 250 Cummins. No turbos. It was extended to accommodate a log loader.
Wow you got me thinking about the old cars. It was like they built the car around two large sofas and when you drove them they swayed back and forth like a boat , hence the name “driving an old boat” 😜 I don’t know 😂😂😂😂😂😂
This place is so cool. It is a truck museum. I'll bet that there is someone on the phone right now negotiating to buy some of these historic pieces. Get your commission, Mike. 😂 👍
Hi Mike, hope you are well. Thanks for the tour of the graveyard "Truck ."Got my CDL license back in 1976.Drove a Ford LTL 9,000 Interstate for a year or so,loved her. Not quite as good as the Mack Titan I had from brand new though. You had the bonnet, but sat as high as a Cab Over. This was back in 93 or 94, memory is not what it used to be. Have been driving Long Distance most of my adult life, and wouldn't change any of it,not for quids. Just wondering if you wouldn't mind checking the inside of some of these cabs you come accross. Inside is just as important, since that's where we spent half our lives driving the highways, sometimes with not another vehicle in sight for hours. Thanks Mike, from John, Queensland, Australia.
The set back axle International laborers were called the 9700 . The LJ Mack's were real trucks!! Drove one and worked on one! Have worked on alot of this old iron, these were real trucks!!
White farm equipment bought Minneapolis Moline, Oliver and Cockshutt tractors. I remember when Mackie the Mover restored that old GMC General. The did alot of work for GM Canada
You was right the old International with the long wing window was an Emeryville. My dad drove one back in the day and pulled a covered wagon also the other video with the real tall old International around my area they called them a mountain goat truck
George Tackaberry had a very good friend that ran the local International Dealership and sold him lots of dump trucks! Kevin Tackaberry loves Cadillacs.
I liked this series of videos I got watery eyes, it’s what trucking used to be. It’s not like that here in BC Canada trucking has been taken over by East Indians. International is was common in Ontario.
Hey BostonTrucker...when you started chattin' about the TA in Ontario (CA), you brought back a "truckload" of memories for me!! Back in my Sharkey days, I spent m-a-n-y hours and days there. Who knows???...maybe you were there at the same time!!! BTW...I had to laugh when you mentioned stopping-by the "adult" places nearby...I knew, right away, where you were talkin' about...Fontana, off I-10!!!!👍👍
I'd love to know more about that silver and red CL9000 at 18:09. It looks exactly like a truck that used to sit in Shelocta PA, same damage to that passenger side headlight even. I'm sure it's not the same truck, I can't imagine that it would be, but I always wanted that truck, and one day it was gone.
Before the internationals and on the other side the other trucks, they first start with someone. If you can take take the elves. There's a frame I saw from another podcast. You who's at frame on another truck. Drop a Cummins and a minute old man. Perfect body perfect from a Diamond Rio from a Diamond Rio. Senator naked real nice wall boy
If you like that kind of old trucks/ equipment sitting around rusting. You need to make your way back down to Pennsylvania the first weekend in October for Mack days at Gerharts in Litizs pa. That guy has some old iron.
Back in the day International sold more heavy trucks in the US (and maybe Canada) then anyone else. Lots of other manufacturers like Diamond T and Hendrickson used IH cabs, and their Red Diamond gasoline engines powered all kinds of stuff
Seeing that White Diesel all torn up made my blood freeze. A moment of silence please. Very old classic trucks should be preserved for truck shows and museums, not torn to shreds.
That's a little chunk of American history, everyone of those trucks has a story to tell, the roads the loads the drivers could you just imagine the white lines those trucks has crossed over. If only they could talk,it would be kinda like the movie cars
Great video Mike. Enjoyed the scrapyard tour. All those trucks..where they been..etc. If those trucks could talk - the stories they could tell. Looked like a awesome show thanks for sharing it !!
Right on Pete thanks for watching my friend.
Wao . Bring Many memories , back when I learn to drive 1983 in a White Mustang 9 speed. Thanks for sharing your story with us.
Mikey!! Great show...you really touched a ton of historical nerves in me!! So many salvageable pieces up there. Thanks buddy!!
You bet!
I could walk around those places every day. Great video Mike, thanks!
You and me both!

I like those o cabovers. Back in the day when the overall length limit was shorter in the USA, those things were the king of the roads. Good times.
Yes Kevin I remember those days very well
Nice video and trucks! That one IH cabover looks like all it needs is some tags and a pre trip and it’s time to hit the road.
Yeah, you never know what you might find in these yards!
Covered Wagon! lol. Great footage, some really cool stuff back there. Those 5th wheel step vans were odd...
Glad you enjoyed!

Super rare GMC Astro!
The last gasp of a cool brand!
Oh my goodness gracious!!! Just thinking about all of them long forgotten BIG BLOCK Gas engines out there that can be brought back to life.
😁😁

🤣🤣
When I worked for United Truck Leasing in the 80's we had a lot of CL9000's. Fun to drive with the air ride cab and view was awesome!
This place is so cool. It is a truck museum. I'll bet that there is someone on the phone right now negotiating to buy some of these historic pieces. Get your commission, Mike. 😂 👍
Haha you're probably right
Great stuff keep up the good work
Thanks, will do!

Frank Malatesta aka - Horseless Carriage Carriers. They're just off I-80 in Paterson. Amazing that a NJ truck ended up in Athens Ontario.

The 2 tone brown ford L8000 in beginning of video books like it was originally a Byrne dairy truck out of Central New York

Love the Aero Astro, too bad it doesn't have the urethane aero bumper anymore.
It's an acquired look!
The 12:00 minute mark. That had to be one of the last GMC astro's produced.
Think you're right.
That was the horseless carriage Mike great video how is your mom and dad diong

Are you thinking of "Horseless Carriage" out of Patterson NJ?

at 1927, that's a 1964 DF 400. The 64 had dual headlights.
oh okay
I want the Emeryville 👍👍
Those Ford 9000 had the cab on the air bags then the air ride seat you were feeling like the truck was coming apart when you first ride in one
iMO the Hendrickson kind of grows on you. As it’s not one you see a lot of ! it’s a little Strange I admit but I like Unique and Odd Vehicles
Yes that's is an emryville.
right
Hendrickson were built in Detroit I believe
The truck is a white road commander coe circa 1980
