We went around the show with Troy Massey and looked at a lot of cool custom Big Rigs. We talked about business and more! What a great time down here in Texas.

Thank you so much for doing this video
You guys are great 😊❤😊 man I wish I was closer. So I could bring my
1971 SeaGrave Fire Engine 🚒. ( 8V-71)
Detroit Diesel with a (5) speed Danaspicer
Transmission. My wife had me move the two stacks straight up through the front pre-connect hose beds. She did NOT want smoke blowing on kids sitting on the curb
In parades. The engine exits were down and out under passenger side running boards half way down the side steps. I have chrome up some of the front fender and side front wheel well plates, but boy it's expensive. For me it's a restoration in progress. Little at a time. I have filled the side compartment with every different kind of Fire Extinguisher ( water pump cans to pressure water cans up to one 50 pound portable Extinguisher. Instead of Air packs in the compartment I put a fire extinguisher in those racks. Because it's old school engines you can go all the way through the front cab. Not like new Fire
Rigs where the engine is between the driver and officer. The new engines the drive looks like a pilot in a jet. On my Fire Engine for me personally it's to let kids get in the driver's seat. Let parents take pictures of their children (driving) and the BIG one brother and sister can walk through the cab to passenger side. My wife is very stern on kids NOT switching and dash switches (front brake disconnect differential lock out, switch for hand braking) the main AIR brake is PUSH for parking so the kids even if they push that by accident, nothing happens. If the kids are out of control ( you all know these types that parents don't correct) 99% of parents repeat what my wife says about don't pull any switch. The out of control kids I bring them to the pump panel and open 2-1/2 caps and let them move the lever all they want and show them the valve that moves inside. I had just a big Federal "Q" siren on the cab over Nose. I added TWO electronic Sirens. So you hear ( wail & Yelp) at the same time
I have added Flag mounts on top for
Old Glory. I got donated old leaky 2-1/2 &
1-1/2 hose to make static hose beds like the rig had when in service. I got a FD type extension ladder that was bent on the end that attached to the clip lock levers on the passenger side. Just trying to restore her to something original. I have not painted the engine. Just cleaning the oil And leakage around different engine parts on those old screaming Detroit. The engine is a faded red color not the DD green. No turbo, it has three air filters on the passenger side inside the engine covers. I'm long winded but boy I wish I could have brought her to this show. She doesn't Look anywhere near as clean as these show big rigs, but I would love kids being able to get in the cab. I totally understand why owners don't want people sitting in their hard work restoration, 😊😊😊
Boss man on his old man ride haha ! I’d love to haul a cattle load in a Massey truck at least once js , maybe i could make it down one day to the show , good job boss man!
HOSS truck was my fav interview.
Them some pretty rigs
Damn Dust in the Wind looks amazing but that interior rebuild is on another level and the color is sick. It’s cool how they thought of the salesman when they built it. Lot Rot is sick and all and I love the fact it has a killer audio system but I’ll stick with the DITW’s interior. The guy with the red and grey Pete is smart going with all that JLAudio equipment. It’s gonna slam as well as through out some very high quality sounds.
Man lotrod is a master piece troy 🎯 idk but custom trucks always look better in a tri axle heavyhaul configuration cant forget hatermade ✍️🏾
What did it says on the door panel of Cut's truck?
Man I love your trucks and I'd love to drive for Troy holler at me if you need a driver
“
In the middle” hehe I see what you did there.
I’m not a trucker so can someone tell me the purpose of the extended frame? Is it for looks only or is there a function to it? Seems like it would make for difficult turning and parking etc. Thanks
Ride quality is better on a longer frame. Also because it looks cool.
@@SEMICasualShow ah, ok, makes sense. It must add cost I’m sure and limit the load capacity somewhat..
Curious if a certain young 11 yr old who seemed hungry with a seed planted that’s already growing a natural love for trucks, might have a summer job opportunity be coming his way sweeping floors, greasing and washing trucks for Troy after that little cab over tour? If you’re in the position to mentor the next generation to be a proper driver our industry can use all the help it can get. Plus it’s a good way to possibly have an excellent future driver who you can mold into the way you want before they have a chance to develop any bad habits.
Whats the idea behind a 5 foot stretch on some of these trucks.... That has to kill your turning radius
Sorry for all the comments just one question for all you professional big rigs builder or drivers. What happens with "RAIN" water going down straight stacks. On my straight up stacks. I put a flapper on each pipe. How do you deal with water going down stacks. Just a question ❓⁉️
I want to understand. Thank you to anyone who answers me back on that one.
What camera are you using.
With these grass burners, why wouldn't you put side pipes on the thing??? You'll gain 3 mpg??
Why would they put the band next to the porta shitters
40:38 Tobacco spit.
What is a Tok-Tic
People that don't drive big rig semis 😊
Don't realize what 2 "Million" miles driving.
A big rig. Just think of Peter builds
It is beyond belief that a company makes a big semi that holds up. 😊 I'm a Fire rig guy so I only saw FD builds for Seattle with KW fronts. I see some old ones a BINFORD recycle and wrecking yards field of Dreams event they hold every Friday night in warm seasons. He has a couple of these old KWs that worked hard pumping water for Seattle Fire, he even has the old Maxim 100 foot ladder that had a life after Burien FD #2 surplus her. It now sits in the big field. BINFORD will not crush these old workhorse he just displays them in the grassy field were the event is held.
Wheres tommy at he's not there .
He couldn’t make it down for the show. Meetings and all that fun stuff, then he went on vacation 😂
no wonder the driver wants a new truck sounds like it was about to fall apart 😅
Star light headliners I just cant get into its just to teenager for me 🤷
Get some sleep 😮 Bro , you look tired
Hey, your cap is backward bubba.
It’s more for aerodynamic purposes 😂😂
@@SEMICasualShow funny. I’m a baseball umpire. Caps must be worn properly on the field. Backward calf are a fashion statement in San Diego. They look 👀 ridiculous. I like the sweet rides. I owned 10 Kenworth W900 L tractors. I was addicted to chrome. Hope you are well and happy.
